REPOST: How Ron Paul Won All of My Iowa Precincts

I am reposting this because caucus time is upon us.

I hope all caucus goers will use my advice (and whatever skills and knowledge they have) to do well in the next few months.

Ron Paul won all three of my caucus sites! But he can win yours, too if you are prepared!

On caucus night in Iowa, I gave a speech at a triple-precinct site. We all voted separately, but the function was run together. Ron Paul won all the individual precincts. How? Firstly all credit goes to Dr. Paul for if it were not for him, I would be an ignorant neocon. However, it was my delivery of Dr. Paul that made the difference.

I hope that this will be an open letter to all future caucus goers. Your organization in your community DOES make a difference. Note:

1) I was the best dressed. Shirt, suit, and tie.

2) I used the Iowa-style Phone from Home to target my neighbors. I went door to door with slimjims as well.

3) I sent the super-brochure to all the independent supervoters in my precinct

4) I talked to all my neighbors with whom I was on very personal terms and I ‘made’ them come. Frankly, this is the easiest way to boost poll numbers.

5) This one is uncontrollable but also neighborhood demographics make a difference. Do not be discouraged if you do not win your precinct. Instead, mark your success by how much you exceeded the expected turn out of your support vs the establishment.

6) I had a wicked poster! No one else had a poster. I also brought slim jims and set them out. http://s1131.photobucket.com/albums/m541/crowjt/?action=view...

7) I gave the best speech that targeted neocons. These people are not ready for ‘the truth’.

So instead I said things that they were looking to hear, and let Dr. Paul’s record do the work while the other candidates have years of inconsistency going against them.
When I arrived the precinct chair informed us the speech would only be 1-2 minutes long. Yikes.

I gave a 1:40 speech. It was a modified version of that campaign’s outline that went like this:

Good evening. My name is JTTC. I live in your neighborhood over on Such and Such Street. I’d like to tell you why I support Ron Paul for President.

Ron Paul has fought for limited government, constitutional principles, and the protection of our God-given rights, including our right to bear arms and our Right to Life. He personally lived the pro-life message as he has delivered over 4000 babies believing life begins at conception.

Unlike his opponents, he has never flip flopped.

He has been a long time critic of the Federal Reserve, and he is the only candidate to have predicted the economic mess we’re currently in 7 years before it began.

His Plan to Restore America cuts $1 TRILLION in spending during the first year of his presidency, eliminated 5 unconstitutional departments, and balances the budget during his third year. He is the only candidate whose plan balances the budget in his first term while the other candidates do not.

And he does this without cutting Social security, Veteran’s benefits, national defense, or care for the children and elderly.

As a veteran, Ron Paul understands that defense is the primary function of our federal government. He voted to go after Osama bin Laden, and he will ensure America’s borders are secure.

Ron Paul has received 3 times more in contributions from active-duty military than all other Republican candidates combined. Polls have show he is THE Republican candidate who can defeat Barack Obama in 2012 as he is the only Republican who has more independent support than Obama.

Those are the reasons why I’m supporting Ron Paul tonight. I hope you will, too. Thank you and God Bless.

There are SO many things I would have liked to add. But it has to be short, to the point, and easy enough for a neocon to say, "Ok, I like that guy."

On a side note, 70% of the delegates were Ron Paul supporters after my constant prodding. BECOME A DELEGATE. IT IS WHAT REALLY MATTERS.

can i use your speech? i do want to add 2 things

Hi, i have most of your checklist covered except a cool poster hehe;) After canvassing today. I think i need to add 2 facts on santorum and newt as wasted votes since they cannot even win since they are not on ballots in many states, can anyone give me the list of states for newt and santorum where they are not on the ballot? I will check back on this thread unless someone can message me. It is critical i think to let these supporters know these 2 have no national campaign and cannot get elected. They are unelectable by delegates! what is the shortest and best way tp say this without slapping them upside there heads? suggestions welcomed. I go to caucus feb 7th colorado. looks like i need around 10 votes and we are gonna fill all 4 spots 2 delegate/2 alternate:)

Ron Paul 2016

It isn't MY speech really after all.

In regards to the Santorum/Gingrich I would propose this:

If you want to have a vote that counts for the consistent conservative who has never flip-flopped, keep in mind that Gingrich and Santorum aren't even on the ballot in several states. This leaves you with Romney and Dr. Paul. I think we all know between the two of them who is the consistent conservative. After, Dr. Paul is the only one who has never voted to raise taxes, voted for an unbalanced budget, voted against gun rights, nor supported the socialist bailouts. Unfortunately we all know Romney cannot say the same.

Trim that down however you feel is best for your audience. But here is the trick, leave them feeling like, "Oh duh of course I can't support Romney he isn't conservative. Oh duh of course I can't support Gingrich/Santorum they can't win."

Feel free to perhaps insert "Besides, only Romney and Dr. Paul can beat Obama based upon polling. I don't need to tell you which of those two is the consistent conservative.... blah blah blah"

Whatever you feel is best. Make sure it is concise and obvious that Dr. Paul is superior without being condescending. In fact, if you can place earnestness and exasperation (a few head shakes, too) into your demeanor when talking about the Jokers, then all the better.

Good luck, and thank you for participating in your caucus system!

right on

This is the way. Tell them what they want to hear, play nice, make friends, get votes, become a delegate.

"I said things that they were looking to hear, and let Dr. Paul’s record do the work while the other candidates have years of inconsistency going against them."

Yes, agreed.

Very, very...

... very, VERY important.
I might add another "very".

my Ron Paul video collection:

(4 years RP, over 2300 videos)

My County

Ron Paul won my whole county here in Iowa. (Black Hawk County)

We were constantly holding up signs near busy highways. Sticking information flyers in public restrooms at restaurants and stores. Sticky note campaigning. I printed out thousands of informational business cards and stuck them in store isles on products at Walmart, Target, K-Mart, malls, and all of our grocery stores, as well as in every credit card slot of every gas pump at every gas station I visited for months. I had Ron Paul signs in my yard, on all of my vehicles, in all of my family's yards. I contacted every Ron Paul supporter in my area and made sure they had a sign in their yard. I would travel to them if needed and make sure they had a sign and one extra for a friend. We were organized. We were at gun shows, fairs, conventions. We had meetings every week or every other week at our local sports restaurant/bar. We watched the debates together at these locations.

A few things to remember:

-Dress nice and act right in public. You are representing all of us.
-Wear your Ron Paul shirt everywhere. Get a few so you can keep them clean. They spark up more conversations than you think they would.
-Carry a few signs in your trunk to give as you meet or convert supporters. When people have a sign in their yard, they commit to the candidate. Signs = votes. Make sure every family member and friend has a yard sign. If they owe you anything, make sure they have a sign and get them to caucus for Paul as a personal favor to you.
-Always have informational flyers with you. You can keep them in the trunk of your car with your signs. Thanks to the mainstream media, many people are confused about the issues and Ron Paul's stance. Be ready to give out pro-marriage, pro-life, pro-national defense flyers when the topic comes up. Along with your knowledge, these flyers only make you more credible. Share, share, share...
-Call people. The campaign has a great tool for contacting voters. Get with your local campaign and do your part.
-Go door to door. This works best on houses that are close together and on busy streets. Try to identify supporters on busy streets. Supporters = signs. Signs = free advertising on busy streets. You can't buy this kind of advertising. Many people like to follow the crowd or pick the candidate they think will win.

For caucus goers

In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.

good to see this up again.
