Official RP2012 Campaign Release:
Ron Paul Speaks Out for WWII Philippine-American Veterans
Ron Paul 2012 Campaign Chairman John Tate notes:
“Ron Paul is the foremost champion of constitutionally-limited government and he supports deeper spending cuts than any other presidential candidate in history.
“The one exception to what our campaign and experts term the most ambitious spending-cut platform in national politics is cuts to veterans’ services. In fact, Dr. Paul recently pushed back against President Obama’s misguided move to enact inauthentic spending cuts on the backs of veterans.
“Dr. Paul is the only presidential candidate – Republican or Democrat – with military service, having served honorably as an Air Force flight surgeon during the Cold War era.
“Dr. Paul also has a long history of honoring veterans, getting thousands of heroes the medals they never received due to Department of Defense omission.”
Ron Paul does indeed have a long history of making sure American veterans get the proper treatment, benefits and recognition for their service. Tonight, Paul continues in this mission. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports:
Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul is scheduled to speak tonight at a rally for Philippine-American veterans who are calling for repeal of a 1946 law that blocks them from receiving compensation for their World War II service.
The rally from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Leatherneck Club, 4360 Spring Mountain Road, is expected to draw hundreds of supporters from the Las Vegas Asian community. It is hosted by the Filipino-American Veterans of Nevada and a San Francisco-based advocacy group, Justice for Filipino American Veterans. Both are nonprofit organizations.
The groups are calling for Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev., to co-sponsor a Senate bill with Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., as a companion to a House measure that seeks to repeal of the 1946 Rescission Act. The act says Philippine guerrillas who served under U.S. commanders shall not be considered active military for purposes of benefits.
One of those who would benefit from amending the act is 100-year-old Silverio Cuaresma of Las Vegas.
“They are waiting for me to die,” he said in October. “Maybe they don’t like me to win, but I keep on trying.”

Foreign Policy
I believe a lot of intelligent Americans believe that war is needed to boost the economy and get us out of recession. Perhaps RP should b sure to address this in all of his speeches, to wake people up from this fallacy?

Did anyone else
hear Ron say at the very end how he would fight for veterans benefits no matter which office he holds? Interesting.
My father..
..was a guerilla in the Philippines during WWII. He never spoke about his participation in fighting alongside the Americans. Late in his life he told me his story for the first and, last time. During the Japanese occupation he got tortured and was left to die. In the corner of his eye he saw, to his horror, the children getting killed. He joined the American forces and managed to destroy several barracks and in the process, killed 32 Japanese soldiers. His Remington Rand M1911A1 that helped him do it was placed in an old wooden box and put away. When we moved to the province for some reason, it disappeared.
He was so proud about the victory but he was equally remorseful that he had to take lives to achieve it.
I just need to get it out here.
Thank you, Dr. Paul.
This honorable gesture has brought me tears of joy for Ron Paul.
Thank you, Ron Paul for your proud and strong support for my "kababayan" (counntrymen)...the Filipino-American Veterans of WWII for HR 210. Finally, they have a real voice in government, in the name of MY/OUR PRESIDENT, Dr. Ron Paul.
My fellow Fil-Am Nevadans, please vote for the next President of the United States...
Marami pong Salamat (Thank you so much), Presidente Ron Paul!
RON PAUL 2012!!!
Thank you to the good men and women of the Filipines
who served during WWII. And when Dr. Paul said that no matter what he will work to do what is right by the Filipino's.
When I think of Dr. Paul who served bravely and competently while serving in the US Air Force, my thoughts turned to Mitt Romney and Donald Trump...both of them got deferments. Bill Clinton and Barack Obama did not serve in the military either. These guys have no business asking young men and women to go into undeclared wars. I wonder if Mitt's 5 sons ever served...or what about Donald's two older sons...and we can forget about Santorum.

very important issue in the Filipino-American community.
This is a very important issue in the Filipino-American community.
There was a rally in the DC area about this as well.
The U.S Government asked them to fight for us, but now they don't grant them veterans benefits.

Paul ante portas.
that maybe the only socialist govt program I do approve.o)
then again, ALL govt programs by definition are socialism, as it's based on collection by force then to redistribution of the said confiscated wealth for politically deemed and non-existent "greater good."
but under our Federalist Constitutional Republican form of govt where 'national defense' is its key role, under contractual auspices, veterans are DEFINITELY contractually deserved what they were promised. No if's, end's or but's. Any attempt by the Fed.Gvt to do otherwise is irresponsible, murderous (as many times they simply want them to die off without medically taking care of their work related ailments, or casualties suffered), and frankly, like all govt douchebaggery: weaselly.
it is no wonder that almost EVERY govt in history uses, abuses, murders, tortures, and experiments on their own soldiers when it suits them, only to take them to war, mostly instigated by a false-flagged event, let them get killed, maimed, injured, tortured, PTSD'ed, then not be responsible for the lingering consequences when they come home, afterwards.
How else can you justify a near Spartan like militant culture that damn near worship the IDEA of lip-service patriotism, yet allow veterans to become disproportionally homeless and mentally ill?
Truly sickening what govts do to people.
Does makes you wonder how an institution with such abysmal track record never fails to attract a next generation of cannon fodders, continuously, without fail.
Regardless, ONLY Dr. Ron Paul can truly rectify this, once and for all! For theirs and our sake, he MUST become the POTUS, or it's WW3 abroad and NDAA policestate at home!
Nevada make us proud and help him WIN today!!!

FIL AMERICAN VET
As a FILAM VET 93 - 05, I thank Dr. Paul for being one of my influences in learning about the constitution, liberty and what it means to have a sound monetary policy.
After learning the message of Dr. Paul, It gave me a clear understanding about how the progressives are currently manipulating the policies in the phil today and being aligned to a Global agenda(UN). The REPUBLIC of the PHIL (RP) is being run as a democracy hence the people does not know the difference.
I urge my fellow FIL AM here in Illinois (Chicago) to band together and link together with our bros/sis in liberty to educate and spread the message...
Ez
FIL AM ( CHICAGO area) or anyone
ANY FIL AM in the area willing to stand up and start making things happen. I see most of FIL AM in the US in general are pro LEFT...AM I WRONG or what?
