@lucky13 :

What about scheduling meetups on week ends instead? I can totally understand this sort of difficulty for you/us to make it during work week days (mon.-fri.), sure.

I could raise this issue at that next meetup if it'd help?

That would be nice of you - I'll make it at some point!

Maybe in the coming months I could even volunteer time on Saturday afternoons, which looks to be when I may have the most time off. I would hate for everyone to schedule a meeting around me (blush!) but I thank you for considering alternative times. I'm usually working in Concord/Danville/Walnut Creek late mornings and mid day, then commuting to SF around 3:00 (got to squeak in before that toll goes up to six bucks.) Then I'm sometimes booked up from then till 9-10:00 pm. Then commute home to Pleasant Hill. Weekends too.

Does anyone ever do lunch meetings? During the week I sometimes have a few hours break early afternoons. Thanks tons!

@GreyIs and you, lucky13

My Facebook and Twitter handles can be found at my profile on the meetup in subject.

Feel free to drop me a line/your suggestion of the time frames and locations that'd work best for you for such meetups.

We'll hopefully be able to better work it out with the other attendees of these events.

I definitely look forward to discussing this with them at that meetup anyway.

Is there a similar group around San Jose?

I am interested to join.

Hey guys, if San Jose works better for you, then...

How about San Mateo, downtown, even?

I was about suggesting it after seeing lucky13's reply, actually.

Although I live east bay, too, I think San Mateo, west bay, is quite convenient, compared to SF city.

I used to work in San Jose and in San Mateo downtown.

The latter is easily accessible from the north (SF city), from the east (Hayward, Fremont, etc) --via San Mateo bridge-- and from the south (San Jose).

I don't even use a car to commute east-west for work, I'm very familiar with the public transport network all around there Caltrain/Bart/AC transit. Let me know if you guys need tips about the best way to deal with the connections.

I could maybe bring this up at that next meetup with Lee on the 20th?

San Mateo works just fine

for the meetup in subject. However, I was wondering if there is a group of RP supporters in South Bay in general. Maybe it is too early for CA, but I personally don't think so.

Okay, good point

"I was wondering if there is a group of RP supporters in South Bay in general. Maybe it is too early for CA, but I personally don't think so."

Makes sense. Let's investigate and ask, then.

I am in San Francisco/East Bay but can never make a meeting!

My work schedule is all over the place (three jobs.) I usually work late into the night. It makes it hard to attend East Bay meetings as well - in fact, I've never made one yet! Just wanted to let you know I'm here - and even though I don't live in the city anymore, I still work there. I'll keep checking to see if I can make any of your events. Thanks for being there!
