Nigel Farage: 'For Greece It's Diplomacy At Gunpoint, And Portugal Is Next'

You are causing the misery in these countries and you blather on about creating jobs and growth. None of this is actually going to happen.

And remember, these people are being driven into humiliation and desperation, and desperate people do desperate things. And I am deeply fearful for what will happen in Greece if we continue with this mad course.

Bankster Goldman Sach Responsible for Greeces Downfall...

Here is a clip on how Goldman is worldwide responsible for many problems especially Greece.

EU

Hungary seems to be going to accept loans. Greece is looking at 70% cuts for bond holders. Dr. Faber suggests 90%.

Meanwhile, I read Mr. Soros and his funds will buy 2 billion worh of Italian bonds.?

Mr. Farage is great

Thanks for posting.

Unfortunately people in Europe have been brainwashed with socialism for many decades and freedom and liberty is no longer part of the DNA.

I guess with the exception of the Greek. When crises strike people tend to learn the hard way. But little good does it do them because the EU - in the same manner as the Soviet Union - have all the right answers for them; socialism (fascism actually but nobody sees this) and even more totalitarian centralization (dictatorship).

"Unfortunately people in

"I guess with the exception of the Greek."

Just LMAO.
And this brilliant insight into the pan-European psyche and history comes from... ?

May I join you?

Another Dutchie here, amused by Lars' blanket statement about "people in Europe.. brainwashed with socialism.. with the exception of the Greek"

And for Lars' information, the problem is way bigger than just the brainwashing with socialism. It's brainwashing with corporatism and the US-exported Cult of "Diversity"(TM).

Furthermore, there is NO main stream free market party anywhere in Europe. All in favour of central banking, all in favour of income taxation.

People just need to really

People just need to really quit this conspiracy crap. It's laughable and gets in the way of what really needs to be done.

To the laid down Dutchman

Why not give us your two cents, LyingDutchman, instead of bellowing out that conspiracy does not exist. Still fast asleep are you?

No, I was once there with

No, I was once there with you, ten years ago I would've maybe believed it too. Then I got out in the real world, read up on my history, studied law, psychology and just looked around and it all just falls apart. I am pretty far from asleep...trust me. If you want to talk about the dirt of the world, we'll talk about it.. but the real dirt, not some convenient fantasy version of it. The real dirt implicates all of us for our basic human nature, are you prepared for that? You say we're heading for a new world order. I say it's always more or less been like this. I don't really care whether WTC 7 was blown up or came down by itself, it's inconsequential.

I'm not saying the situation ain't bad and we don't need to change fast. There is a lot of corruption in the system and we're on a dangerous path that CAN lead to tyranny. Personally I think breakdown and chaos is more likely, and that'll open the door for tyranny. That's what happened to Weimar and brought in Hitler, by will of the people.

We totally agree there, I just don't agree there's a shadowy elite pushing us there. It's all of us.. we do it to ourselves or we let it be done. And I can tell you, that thought alone is whole lot scarier than any conspiracy theory can be.

Example: people are angry about the obvious voter fraud being done. But how did that come about? Wasn't it the American voter that was perfectly happy with the status quo for a long time? Who couldn't be bothered to get invested in it, show some basic interest, show up to causus for an honest candidate leaving it wide open for the corrupt trash, the corporations, arms industry and banks to take over for years? Now that it's finally affecting housing values and normal people's jobs... look at all the angry people. Where were they? When do you first got on the Paul-train? Where you a libertarian thinker before or after that you heard him speak about that? Do you read history? Have you travelled the world? Or were you content to first let Fox and now Alex Jones figure it all out for you?

Clean politics is a myth. It has never existed. Why do you think medieval people had to dream up a character like King Arthur, the righteous king? How did Ceasar really take over the Republic and why did he have the people's support in doing so? Why do you think the reformation happened? Why did the founding fathers have so many great, timeless ideas about freedom but even more slaves? Why do people believe in facism, communism or even absolute monarchy? It can't be that they're all either insane, evil or asleep? Why does EVERY revolution in history ends in terror and/or tyranny?

Sorry if that sounds harsh, I don't pretend to be any better. I'm old and wise enough to know I'm not. But look at how many people show up for elections, even now. People by and large don't care as long as it doesn't affect them directly. It's apathy pure and simple. Tyranny doesn't create apathy, tyranny creates revolution. It always does. It's apathy that allows tyranny, not the other way around. Tyranny has much more to gain from your complicity than from your apathy, it'll do everything it can to get you involved in it.

Don't take me the wrong way, it's great that you do care, but get informed and think. Don't just react. Don't just go on the internet and read the stuff that you agree with. That's pandering to yourself. Read most of all what you don't agree with. I have been a libertarian for years, best book I've read this month is by a marxist philosopher, best discussion was with a staunch social democrat. Does that make me a socialist? No, it makes me a critical thinker willing to challenge my assumptions, put it to the test. But it does make me see that in the end most people want pretty much the same thing, we just make different assumptions about how to get it.

And that, in a nutshell, is the problem I have with conspiracy theorists. We agree about a lot of what's wrong. But where you see a conspiracy, I see ignorance or corruption driven by simple greed. There is no overarching plot. If am angry about anything it's how all our ignorance and apathy has created a system that's corrupt. I do see that. But I see how the best of intentions got us here and how easy it is to exploit people of good intention. The people that gave us the EU had the best of intentions, they didn't want to destroy Europe, they wanted to make it better. But they did it too fast, so it had weaknesses that could be exploited. And if it's possible, there's always somebody that'll do it. If the atom bomb is possible, someone will build it. If there's an argument to make, someone will make it. Manifest destiny, Americans of all people should understand that concept. The welfare state for a while did achieve great results, but it's unsustainable in the long term. It seemed like a good idea at that time, and it was championed by the Ron Pauls of that time, against the will of the establishment that just doesn't like change. Then when change is inevitable the establishment adapts or is replaced and opposes further change. And that is what Ron Paul calls the intellectual revolution, which isn't really a revolution, but a counter-revolution: a return to common sense.

Still fast asleep am I now?

in short: conspiracy theories

in short: conspiracy theories in my view are part of the 'us vs. them' idiocy that people in power use to divide, conquer and make off with the loot.

Good Points

I myself am far from a conspiracy theorist, however I am much more educated than the average American. The reality is there is much more corruption than most people realize, it's being going on for a long time people are only recently noticing it though.

Anyone that does any research will know a few blatantly obvious truths such as below:

1- The voting system is rigged
2- The government does not care about the average American
3- The rich people or 1% control most of the government
4- The Status Quo of this country will not end
5- This country will go bankrupt soon

Just because something seems implausible doesn't make it so

Yeah, you really don't need a

Yeah, you really don't need a conspiracy to get where we are now and one Ron Paul isn't gonna fix it, especially if his support is still looking for boogeymen that aren't there.

Socialism: Best for the elite - they love the socialist pyramid

If they could define 'National Socialism' as being 'Far Right', their power of manipulation is definitely boundless.

Even Mussolini, the man who actually coined the term 'fascism', came from the socialist fold and his version is corporatism, that is, the unification of state and corporations for the 'benefit of the people'.

Europe's only hope is Ron Paul's message of freedom.

to some extent

That is true, but many are beginning to wake up! The question is if it is too late...

When Fascism goes to sleep, it checks under the bed for Ron Paul!

Seems like hyperbole to me.

Greece has to default. Greece will default. I think it needs to be not just a hair-cut, but a 100% default on all its debt, and let the Greek banks and other banks holding Greek debt all fail (or at least, Greece shouldn't try to prop any of them up). The Greek people are going to have to go cold turkey on not living on new debt and instead living within their means. The only question is how long they wait (and how much more money they manage to get from "the suckers" still lending to them) before doing that. I don't think Greek defaults until the supply of "suckers" runs dry (or at least, runs too low to meet Greek's debt interest payments).

In response to news that we may soon see negative interest rates on US debt, someone on zerohedge joked that Greece should make bond holders take a 150% hair-cut.

"Diplomacy at gunpoint" is just hyperbole though, no? Isn't what's really happening is that Greece is trying to maintain some sort of continued credit rather than a complete default (so it can continue to extract new money from the "suckers"), and Germany is playing hardball, demanding partial forfeiture of Greek sovereignty in exchange for that continued credit? That's not really "at gunpoint". That's just Germany trying to not be stupid and give even more money to someone who is clearly either unable or unwilling to run their own finances in a sound fashion.

We are all under EU dictatorship

The elected Greek government has been replaced by a technocratic government led by a former ECB man. The Greek government is the enemy of the people and is colluding with the EU overlords to further enslave the Greeks.

The EU has set up a bailout fund where member states are forced to borrow money (as much as they are TOLD) in order to throw it into this permanent bailout fund that bails out collapsing states - in other words, it adds debt to debt-ridden states, as well as to those who are borrowing to add that debt. It cannot fail: the nation states of Europe will all collapse under the heavy burden of unsustainable debt and be fully taken over by the EU dictatorship.

Then the euro can collapse to make way for the new world currncy.

Question is: Who will be the first to adopt the world currency? The US, the UK or the EU?

Time for a revolution.

Yeah, I forgot about that government switcharoo they pulled in Greece. (How does the population not revolt in response to that? I guess it's a similar combination of apathy, ignorance and lies like we have in the US that lets people vote for anyone other than Paul.)

All forced wealth transfers are immoral. It's unfortunate things have been set up as they are in Europe. If enough of the people of Europe had been awake at the time they would have simply legalized a shared currency (100% backed by commodities) rather than ceded so much of their sovereignty to the EU. Greece and the other EU countries made their bed. Score another one for the bankers.

I think the effective (though not necessarily the official) new world currency may be the same as the old -- gold & silver. Education means a lot of people are already wising up and not saving in US dollars or Euros any more, but instead saving in hard assets. Hopefully that knowledge will continue to expand. If so, it won't matter what official currency is forced on us, we will undermine their ability to tax via inflation by not holding enough of it to matter.

Insanity...

Just saw a zerohedge article on where the money is going. Apparently, out of every Euro borrowed:

  • .19 goes towards actual Greek spending
  • .23 goes to Greek financials
  • .18 goes to the ECB
  • .40 goes to non-Greek financials

That's pretty rediculous. 81 cents of every Euro of new Greek debt is going into propping up the great financial ponzi.

Greece needs to default NOW, say "adio" to the EU, and I guess bring back the drachma.
