doesn't like the Gold Standard because there is indeed something else at work. Politicians that approve of spending money that we don't have are at work. If we were on the Gold Standard, the Government would have much more trouble spending money it doesn't have. Right now The Fed prints up money for them out of thin air if they don't have it. You can't do that with Gold!
Quantitative Easing is adding numbers on to the end of bank accounts electronically, by pressing some keys on a computer keyboard. Pretty soon, the Federal Reserve Notes WON'T BE WORTH THE PAPER THEY'RE NOT PRINTED ON!
