Are You Kidding Me? They're STILL Counting?

This is a bad joke.

It's 11:25 pm eastern time, just got back from a friend's house...and they're still counting in Clark County.

Seriously, WTF?

But here's something interesting.

With 88.9% of all precints counted, look at the vote totals.

Romney 49.6% 15,033
Gingrich 21.3% 6,463
Paul 18.5% 5,611
Santorum 10.3% 3,133

Total votes (so far) = 30,240

I thought the turnout was expected to be between 50-60,000?

About 11 percent of the vote total remains to be seen. UNDER 40,000 voters total looks likely. How can this be so?

Let's conservatively ASSUME the Nevada GOP packed it in last night and agreed to meetup again at 9am this morning to commence the recount...

40,000 total (estimated) votes / 14.5 hours since 9am this morning = 2759 votes counted per hour = 46 votes counted per minute ASSUMING one single person did it themselves.

My little wee self could have counted ALL of the ballots cast since 9:00 am this morning.

The recount should be over by now. It's now 11:41 pm and the final results are still in limbo.

The Nevada GOP should be ashamed of themselves for making republicans look like a bunch of inept, corrupt fools.

In vegas, I'm sure there are plenty of clever people capable of pulling-off an election fraud. I could just see an illusionist planning-out a way to stuff ballot boxes, make them disappear, etc. right infront of you and you wouldn't even know it... then training a few accomplices.

Hey, these things take time.

Feeding thousands of Ron Paul ballots into paper shredders, falsifying documents, gathering votes from the dead--it's not an instantaneous process.

Sadly i see a very clever

political cartoon in there Kevin.

Something to consider…

If the final vote tally is near 40,000, that would mean approximately 1.5% of the population participated in the Nevada caucuses.

If 25% of the population was under the age of 18 and not able to vote, then approximately 2% of the adult population participated.

If the state was split evenly between democrats and republicans, than approximately 4% of the adult republicans took the time to cast their vote.

If you lived in a state that was among the hardest hit in the housing crisis, why wouldn’t you take the time to get involved in the future of your children and the country they will reside in.

This is not only the case in Nevada, but these numbers are somewhat typical so far.

This election is not that hard to win, if only the people wanted to.

We just need to keep spreading the word of liberty and keep pushing forward.

So far nobody is winning this thing.

...voting turnout has been in slow but steady decline since about 1900. Murray Rothbard attributes it to the fact that the two parties have been gradually moving closer together, with the result that an increasing number of people don't see any major differences between them and therefore decide it doesn't matter who wins.

It's funny how the media always pretends that American politics is becoming ever more partisan. Quite the opposite. We're devolving in a big apathetic gray blob.

Maybe by 2050 we can sweep the country because we'll be the only one's voting...LOL

Absolutely ridiculous...

...somebody needs to be fired (and/or prosecuted), fraud or no fraud.

How on earth can they justify taking this long?

Here I am once again at midnight wondering if I'm going to get the results before I have to go to bed. NV is a freakin' nightmare, I just want it to END.

The thing is...

more people are seeing the gears inside the machine. Leading to a better understanding of the gear tooth mesh ratio. It could use an overhaul.

The percent value is the number of precincts. Not the percentage of votes taken. It's possible that the final 10% of precincts carries a lot of votes, perhaps as much as 50% of Nevada's popular vote.

I picture this...

The Nevada GOP and their henchmen are waiting to release the final 11.1% of the vote until the 2 lone Ron Paul supporters left (who have been living on organic hemp seeds and taking turns sleeping for the past 2 days) finally give up and leave. Attention NV GOP: Mary and Joe are not leaving until you fork over the final results.

Never be afraid to ask simple questions.
