Did Only 25% of the Campaign's Identified Supporters Show Up? Something's Very Wrong

Something very wrong happened in Nevada. Here's a quote I read a few days ago that had me ready for a huge victory in Nevada.

"We have more IDs than Romney had votes in '08," said Paul's state chairman, Carl Bunce, meaning identified supporters who have committed to attend Saturday's caucuses across the state. He wouldn't give a precise number, but Romney's 2008 vote total in his big Nevada win was 22,649."

That made perfect sense to me because this time around, Ron Paul's numbers in the first 4 states have been 2 to 5 times more than they were in 2008.

This same article supported this with another piece of information.

"The town clerk, she said, has reported being stunned by the number of former Democrats and independents the Paulites have gotten to register as Republicans in order to caucus for Paul. The volunteers have netted 800 new registrations, according to Bunce."

But the final results reported show that Ron Paul only got 39 more votes this time around vs. 2008, 415 in 2008 and 454 in 2012.

Something just doesn't add up here.

Nye County gives us a great opportunity to figure it out. It's small enough to be able to be able to get a complete accounting of the votes.

If Nye County is so passionately for Ron Paul and if maybe 1000 people actually voted for him, it should be possible to get sworn affidavits from at least half saying that they voted for Ron Paul.

It also should be possible for a few people from each precinct in Nye County to be able to say what they saw as the real time vote count at each caucus.

Nye County is the perfect scenario to either prove vote fraud or to identify the huge problem of getting supporters out to actually vote. It's a scale that is very manageable.

Does this look fishy to anyone else?

kev, how are those results

But that's my point

454 votes are easily verifiable. Fraud usually occurs in the big counties.

Similar Issue in FL

Perhaps this is called 'suppression of votes'. It may be that this is happening to all of Romney's GOP rivals. Newt said in a press conference recently that in FL, the counties in which Romney won had low turnout while in the counties he won, there was average to above average turnout.

From this posting, it seems that Paul also suffered from suppression of supporter turnout.

Can anyone shed light on this? How can 'suppression of voter turnout' occur for multiple anti-Romney candidates?

voter turnout

it is not a case of voter turnout ..it is a case of voter fraud by those who count the vote secretly as the republican status quo has done in Iowa as well as NV and probably NH and NC as well..the only publicly counted vote had Mr Ron as the winner with 58%..so what does that tell you?..

Ron Paul or none at all

Wow. Just wow.

I think we know why the campaign is so silent right now. This is crazy.

What are you suggesting?

I'm suggesting they might be in shock

at the obvious discrepancies - and figuring out how to respond effectively.

I don't believe it

They're not new to politics. They wouldn't be paralyzed with shock, especially not if (as many claim) there was fraud in 2008. If there was clearly fraud in 2008 then this time around they'd be prepared for it, and ready to fight it if it happened again.

Start with this Carl Bunce

"We have more IDs than Romney had votes in '08," said Paul's state chairman, Carl Bunce, meaning identified supporters who have committed to attend Saturday's caucuses across the state.

He says he's got a list of identified voters. He's on our side, and contact info is easy to find. http://www.ronpaul2012.com/states/nevada

Ask him first how many IDs they had in Nye county. If it's as large as you are expecting then get a breakdown by precinct. You could narrow it down to a very short list of IDs to contact.

Ifthe campaign doesn't want to pursue it, find out why.

instead of vague (and statistically dubious) suspicions here finally is something tangible. Let's get this settled one way or the other.

Yes and you could start with one precinct.

Then compare that to the results for that precinct. This would be very easy to do.

You only need solid evidence of fraud in one precinct

To get the ball rolling. But it needs to be the kind of evidence that could stand up in court. The list that Bunce claimed to have would provide a way to get some hard evidence of fraud ... or if not then it would provide some concrete feedback about why the gotv effort did not work. It's good either way and Bunce is on our side so hopefully he'll be eager to help.

It would resolve the issue

Call up everyone of those ID'd supporters and find out if they voted or not. If they didn't vote, find out why not and use that information going forward.

It would end this the voter fraud conspiracy talk once and for all. If just one instance of verifiable voter fraud can be proven, then we can have a true revolution to clean up the corrupt system.

If instead it is voter apathy, then it's good to know so we can make adjustments. Maybe one diehard Ron Paul supporter would be resposible for getting a few low key supporters to the polls by picking them up and driving together to the caucuses.

How many of those people who

How many of those people who tell the campaign that they are going to show up to vote usually end up showing up?

If the campaign is doing its job....

If the campaign is doing its job.... ALL of them.

The campaign should have ensured that every single one of them was contacted personally and contacted again on Saturday morning to ensure that they were ready to go caucus and could get to their caucus site.

But... those contacts need to come directly from the campaign.

My suspicion is that the "phone from home" thing is being used against the campaign by supporters of other candidates. The reports of people getting ticked off at the Paul campaign after being contacted multiple times on the same day is a sign that a group of people are intentionally sabotaging that system.

I was at National HQ on Saturday

I talked with some of the skeleton staff at the national HQ (Virginia) last Saturday and all of the regulars that were normally there were apparently in Nevada. I was told the majority of the campaign staff had been involved in the GOTV (get out the vote) for Nevada, rather than relying on the phone from home. Saturday's phone from home was dedicated to Minnesota.

With that said, I don't think the phone from home was to blame. I'm sure they're investigating what happened...

One of the problems with the phone list is that people get BOMBARDED with phone calls in primary/caucus states.

I'm pretty sure that some people get frustrated by the sheer number of calls they get. I bet some people get frustrated by the whole process, and decide they won't go.

It's sad that people don't naturally take interest in the election process.

However, from the perspective of one person - they have nobody to reply to their own lingering thoughts that might come out like, "my vote doesn't really matter anyhow." Even though they are wrong.

Surely, I'm an identified

Surely, I'm an identified supporter, and I got zero phone calls. A couple of snail mails telling me to attend, but no calls. I don't have a land line, but I'm sure they have my cell phone as I've gotten calls in the past from campaign for liberty.

I haven't heard anyone I talk to at work mention being called, and I preach Ron Paul all the time. I'd think it would have come up.

I would be mortified if it turned out that so few of us came to vote.

Great idea

I hope the campaign gets on this.

Someone one here on the DP saild that a survey was passed around

and people thought that was the voting sheet. How many of those were thrown away?

Campaign has to raise this

Campaign has to raise this issue.
Until they do it officially there is not much any of us can do.

What can Nye County do without the campaign?

It is YOUR vote that has been fraudulently taken from you. What do you expect someone else to do for you? You are all about RIGHTS, right? Rights are what you CLAIM or surrender, not what someone else gives you.
FIGHT, please! Anything I can do to help, let me know, but Dr. Paul is busy.
I just don't know, I have been very frustrated with this myself, and that is the answer Z have come up with for myself. If they defraud me, it is MY fight. I hope I can get some backup if I need it.

Love or fear? Chose again with every breath.

Something is rotten..

There IS fraud. Obviously.

If your a person who doesnt believe that vote fraud exists, educate yourself, but start out by watching 'Hacking democracy'.

Good comment, though. Too bad the ones that think it is all FINE, still do..

Noticed and learned from, thanks :)

What you say makes sense. The math just doesn't add up.

This anomaly needs scientific explanation and I hope the Paul campaign is pushing for an official investigation.
