MONTANA no longer has a CAUCUS! Update!Submitted by cepivon on Mon, 02/06/2012 - 14:11
I just confirmed at the MT GOP headquarters, and it was passed in 2010 due to the high influence of the RP "people". I hadn't known that had passed.
So....what this means is that our primary will be on JUNE 5TH, and whoever wins will be the Republican nominee. There is no splitting up of the total votes percentage-wise. That's the bad news. But, the good news is that you don't have to be affiliated with any party to vote in the Primary. Just bring your photo I.D. the day of the election. Over half the ballots will have been mailed to registered voters. There is a paper trail, even the day of the election, too.
I don't think any fraud will occur, UNLESS the GOP manipulates the vote totals. I don't think fraud will occur in our electronic machines, because quite frankly, our state doesn't give enough electoral votes in the Presidential election to even worry about the Primary election. I live in Billings, Mt., so I think I will take my camera, and video tape the vote totals at the Metra where all the final counting goes on. I also believe we will need some people assigned to "some" precincts outside the Metra. I'm not saying which precinct I will be in. I will organize other RP supporters to do the same state-wide. This will confuse the GOP massively, and make it less hard to corrupt the totals. The Election Dpt. said we will have "ballot boxes", but they are certified with several people viewing AT THE SAME TIME to make sure the contents are EMPTY prior to the election. So, that's good.
Romney won last time, until he dropped out. Ron Paul was in 2nd, so he should have taken those 25 delegates, but the GOP stripped him of them unfairly. I am going to push for Billboards in all major cities. I am going to contact & work with each RP meet-up group to effect some organization. Wish me luck!!
****I just confirmed that if Dr. Paul is not the Republican nominee that the LIBERTARIAN PARTY is on ballot in ALL 50 STATES, and if he ends up being their "nominee", he, then, would be placed on the Presidential Election Ballots nation-wide. At least, we'd have a choice then, and his name would definitely appear on national ballots.
