Interesting NPR Article - Amid Debt Crisis, A Trail Of Broken 'Promises'

It was quite shocking to me that this was on NPR. It's a small blurb or report about a book: Paper Promises: Debt, Money and the New World Order by Philip Coogan where he discusses that the current worldwide economic crisis can be traced to the U.S. leaving the gold standard. It's going on my Kindle reading list and might be excellent ammunition for everyone who goes into fits of rage whenever returning to the gold standard is discussed.
