Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, following a recent anti-piracy legislative debacle with SOPA and PIPA, will lead his second effort of 2012 to push Internet-regulating legislation, this time in the form of a new cybersecurity bill. The expected bill is the latest attempt by the Democrats to broadly expand the authority of executive branch agencies over the Internet.
Details about the bill remain shrouded in secrecy. Clues available to the public suggest that the bill might be stronger than President Barack Obama’s cybersecurity proposal, which was released in May 2011. Reid said that he would bring the bill — expected to come out of the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, chaired by Connecticut independent Sen. Joe Lieberman — to the floor during the first Senate work period of 2012.

Internet technology will defeat government control
even if we can't fight off bills like this.
I am unfamiliar with peer to peer communication, but intend to learn all about it since it will be a very useful communication tool as peaceful efforts to restore freedom ultimately fail.

Unlike the wet blanket who commented on it, would you please consider signing this and share it with your friends, relatives--even your enemies? I know something like this is similar to pissing up a rope, but anything would be an attempt compared to what Mr. Obvious there would do. According to him, it's definitely ridiculous to want Ron Paul in the White House!

We The People put a stop to this fascist BS...Make an all citizen appeal somehow for the full recall of all corrupt Representatives and Senators as well as the executive and judicial branch. Which amounts to about 99% of those in office in Washington. Then have all new elections nationwide...and then do the same for all the 50 states governments people from the Governor down.I believe the corruption is that pervasive. I also believe this is our Right under the Constitution.

INTERNET was made to made all information free, to empower people, to give information to the poor people who want to move ahead. With these regulations and stifling of the internet it will only destroy it not improve it. Besides the people making all these rules doesn't know anything about the internet so why should they be the one to regulate it. We all know when you regulate something only few people benefit while a lot of people are disenfranchised.
They might as well pour all their effort on capping the ballooning PUBLIC DEBT which is standing in about 16 TRILLION USD there's the big gorilla we should be watching not the INTERNET.
I hope the future will come where we can all vote via the internet. If we can bank online we can vote online.

Anonymous/Anti-Sec/Lulz'Sec/Anon aren't a false flag attempt. Hell the FBI and Scotland Yard are hard at work busting members of these groups. Antisec even hacked an FBI's conference call with London police and taped the recording ABOUT THEM and put it up on youtube!
Furthermore, even if you don't agree with Anonymous tactics, they did manage to get the message out about SOPA and PIPA, and we got a victory there. I'm not giving all the credit to Anonymous, but they were very "vocal" in their opposition of the bills.
Anonymous is the NEW 911 / bogus excuse for government control.

to understand the dynamics of these groups.
Anonymous isn't a hacker group contrary to what you hear in the MSM. Anonymous orginally started as a 4chan /b/ idea - in that "We are Anonymous, we are legion" etc etc was in reference to how 4chan allows posters to post under "Anonymous".
From this, Anonymous moved from 4chan to their new website, the Encyclopedia Dramatica http://encyclopediadramatica.ch/Main_Page
At the same time this was happening, there was a splinter offshoot of Anonymous posters from 4chan. These guys called them selves "Anon's" and were more politically activist then just meer internet trolls who frequented 4chan /b and made internet meme's.
These guys started calling themselves "Anonymous" and they are behind most of the politically motivated things you see being labeled "Anonymous". Furthermore, a group called Lulz'Sec which was a hacker subgroup of the original "Anonymous" movement on 4chan and ED (their name originates from Internet Meme's that included the saying "I did it for the Lul'z" from 4chan postings).
Lulz'Sec and the Politically motivated group (Originally calling themsleves Anon's, but now refer to themselves as Anonymous) combined forces and now call themsleves AntiSec. You can see what their doing on twitter by following AnonOps and searching the hashtag #Antisec as well as joining their IRC server.
Point being that the old Anonymous were internet trolls, the "New Anonymous" are political activists (many of whom frequent Occupy Protests) an the hackers are another group called Anti-sec. Anonymous supposedly doesn't claim responsibility for what Anti-sec does, but Anti-sec does seem to support Anonymous motives.
Anyway, I long post but I like to clarify it.
