Ron Paul Surging in Latest National Poll
Poll shows Texas Congressman on the rise
LAKE JACKSON, Texas, Feb 07, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul remains competitive in the race for the nomination according to a new Reuters/Ipsos Poll.
Paul scores a solid second with 21 percent of the vote, faring better nationally than fellow GOP competitors Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich. These latest numbers show Paul gaining on his main competitor nationally, Mitt Romney, whose support seems to be fading with 29 percent. Paul's support grew by 5 percentage points nationally since January, while Romney has seen a 30 percent decline in his support since January.
"This poll further illustrates that Ron Paul is emerging as the real conservative alternative to Mitt Romney, and that he can also obtain the needed support from Independents and disenfranchised Democrats to defeat President Obama in November," said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

To have a positive headline
To have a positive headline somewhere in the first three pages of "recent topics" I bump.
I'm extremely enthused by where we are in this race. I visit the DP and find my enthusiasm dampened just scrolling through the topics. I might have to turn on Fox News to find someone with something positive to say about our campaign. Now that is bad! Is it just me or has it seemed to be unnecessarily discouraging here the past 2 or 3 days....

Why all the WAILING tonight, read this poll.
This poll is exceptionally good news, but there's more. Romney and Gingrich are stagnant at best. Santorum's surge makes this a 4-man race. That means more media focus on the upcoming contests and more money wasted by Ron's 3 opponents. All together, this is like hitting a jumper at the buzzer to send the game into overtime.
TIME is what the campaign needs. TIME for stocks to come down again. TIME for employment numbers to get real again. TIME for the false peace overseas to blow up into headlines again. TIME for, maybe, some of the price inflation our guy has prophesied. TIME for the campaign to retrench, hone new messages, recharge the batteries.
The first 5 million supporters of Dr. Paul are 'early adopters.' The next 10 million will require a modified approach.
Now you can see
Now you can see why they keep pushing him to run 3rd party. 5 percentage point growth in support nationally since January (one month). At that rate he'll overtake Romney in less than two months. But not if he suddenly runs 3rd party because he will not get any national MSM exposure. As long as he stays in the GOP fold they have no choice but to give him minimum national coverage. And because his message is so powerful every little bit of national mainstream coverage is dangerous to the establishment.
Stay the course!

Also interesting
That the Marketwatch story also suggests that this was some sort of advertisement instead of news by adding this little ditty at the bottom:

Ironically, real journalism would reveal to American citizens that broadcast news has become a racket.
That's because it's a .....
..... press release by the campaign (look in the top left corner, just above the headline)
;-)
The marketwatch link
The marketwatch link provided brings up the story, but their link to the actual poll just happens to be dead. Oh I'm sure it's just a clerical error.

Link? What link?
The link is non-existent. It says "click here" but there isn't a link.
It's the best headline though. "Ron Paul surging" changes perceptions without them even needing to click a link.
Ron Paul is surging! Plaster it everywhere.

Hopefully this isn't just an
Hopefully this isn't just an outlier. He's at 11% in a Rasmussen poll yesterday, Gallup's most recent polls have him at 11% and ABC at 14%. So I'm cautiously optimistic about this poll.
But somehow
in Nevada, one of his strongest states, he only gets 18%, according to the NVGOP.
Crooks!
This is huge...
Sadly, the main street media will probably not even mention the fact. I can hear it now, oh who reads or believes the WSJ. This really needs to get out to all media outlets.
