I need help! Can someone verify Santorum opposed TARP?

Ok...I can trace back to CPAC 2010, but can anyone verify his opposition to TARP during the crisis in 2008? CPAC 2010 was like 18 months after TARP.

But was he opposed to it at the time?

All I see is someone else saying he opposed it but I want some proof....thanks!

Santorum loves anything

government and money related.

He was irrelevant

in 2008 as he was not holding any office. He a FOX news contributor. I would imagine that if there was anything on the record it would be from a FOX news archive.

im prety sure he supported it

becuase i remember in a debate a while back paul said soem thing like "everyone o this stage supported the bail outs" or something like that than rick santorum was focused on about supporting them.

Nothing about TARP in there, just interesting to note the alliance with other proponents of big government solutions (like Medicare Part D and NCLB, which Ricky supported).

He was voted out of the Senate in 2006

He was probably still whining about losing his seat. He would most likely have supported TARP and other bailouts as a sitting member of Congress. No way to know what he opposed as a lobbyist. He wasn't a prominent figure after getting booted out.

He opposed TARP

I had seen that article already.

What I want is some sort of verification from 2008 that he opposed it. Was he against it, but never said anything while it was up in the air? Or did he not have an opinion? Did he see the Tea PArty people and then decide to join in?

The Club for Growth article gives no footnotes.
