My Shocker Prediction

I actually think Romney will drop out before the convention. After tonight he is in BIG TROUBLE.

I think Gingrich is next, but Frothy will stay around... If Romney loses a few more in the next 30 days, he will probably drop...

i have been predicting that there will be no presidential election...

?????

Care to expand on that?

Minnesota Mary

History in the making this year! The year the Fed dies.

Never forget, both parties define success as one simple concept...

Ron Paul does not win the nomination!!

After that it doesn't matter anymore, regardless of who wins the White House!

You know what?

Your predictions sound very possible to me. I've been thinking the same way.

If Romney was beaten by McCain, who was beaten by Obama, I don't think Romney can beat Obama this year when he is doing so badly among Republicans.

Minnesota Mary

What???

I also think my farts don't stink. I honestly think Romney is the ONLY hurdle to the WH. However, if he did...pinch me.

Why on earth would Romney

Why on earth would Romney ever drop out?

Maybe ego.

Just look at him. I think he has a hugely inflated head. My guess is, he wants to be perceived a winner, and if he stops winning the 'straw' vote, and doesn't have volunteers to be delegates (at least in the caucus states), I don't think he'll stick around.

Why on Earth does he want to be president? He can do just as much damage to this country without being president - he and his CFR buddies.

We'll see what the corrupt GOP has planned. So far they are playing merry-go-round with each of their 'boys' having a turn at winning states.

Yes, I think it is complete vote fraud. Ron Paul should be neck-n-neck with Romney in every state except FL.

RedDot's picture

Romney wants to be president

Romney wants to be president because his father tried and failed. It's not more complicated than that. You've got Romney all wrong. He's not an evil guy trying to destroy the country, he's a soul-less politician willing to destroy the country so he can get the glory of being president. This is why establishment types love him. He has no strong convictions, therefore he can be controlled.

The big shocker

Is when the MSM and the RNC treat Ron Paul fairly. Then I woke up, : (

The Shocker.

And nobody expects

The Spanish Inquisition!

no- Romney's not going

no- Romney's not going anywhere...

If anyone is going to drop it will be Gingrich...

Probably Gingrich is going to regroup and try to get organized, and spend money in later contests, especially in the South.... how long he'll stick around after that depends- if he loses despite his efforts he'll probably drop out, otherwise he'll probably keep going until either the convention, or until someone wins enough delegates....

I would say there's a good chance this could still be a 3-4 person race up until May/June.

Honestly, watching his speech last night, I had an inkling he

knows he's done.

I also had an inkling that maybe we've got this dynamic all wrong.

What would the race look like if it were from the beginning Paul, Gingrich and Santorum after South Carolina?

Might Gingrich have taken Florida as well? Most likely.

Would these contests last night have changed much? Not likely.

What if Mitt was simply in this for his own ego, and at this point, his staying in this long was just long enough for another candidate to not have a real shot if they jumped in now?

The establishment vote will not go to Ron, not anytime soon. Those people will eventually go vote for whomever is winning anyway, but it won't be Ron just yet.

What if Romney is in it still to prevent Gingrich or now Santorum from running away with it?

Not to say he's doing it for Paul, but it really does benefit Paul more than Romney for Romney to stay in.

Romney is beating up big time on Grinch and Frothy. He'll really be targeting Frothy now.

Paul has money, but it sure is better if someone else is spending theirs against your opponents so you can use yours for other things.

I'd say right now, Mitt is doing more good for Paul IN the race, than if he dropped out.

I wonder, had he stayed in last time against McCain, would McCain have done so well? Could he even have won the nomination outright? Certainly, Paul was not in a position to win last time, but perhaps it would have been a closer and bloodier contest.

I'd say if Mitt stays in and continues to have mixed results, then that is a sign it IS NOT coming from orders to keep Paul at bay. If there truly was anyone playing Mitt as part of an "anybody but Paul" game, they'd have Mitt drop out before Super Tuesday so the path can be opened up for Frothy or Salamander to take the helm.

Romney is the one the Repubs want

He will not drop out.

The Republicans may just want to lose the election to Obama so that they can blame him for 4 more bad years.

Then in 2016, the Repubs will win in a huge landslide and be the people's savior.

That is, if the US even makes it to 2016.

The Presidential nominee is not picked by the votes, it's picked by the party way before the primaries start. The voting process happens just to make the people feel like they had a part in choosing.

It is all manipulated by political parties who have $$$$ and power. A strong third party should have been created after Bush was re-elected in 2004. We are playing catch-up now. I'm not sure whether we have enough time.

The Neocons who control the GOP

would be just as happy with Santorum as with Romney. If they sense Romney will lose, watch them abandon him and go for Santorum.

Minnesota Mary

What's more......

The PTB and CFR both want a 'member' as president. Unless Santorum is a very secret member, it sure won't be him. This leaves Obama/Romney and Gingrich. They are both members, but Romney is not on the formal roster. (Cover-up, anyone?)

But that man should play the tyrant over God, and find Him a better man than himself, is astonishing drama indeed!~~D. Sayers

There is no difference between an authoritarian government from the right or the left...F. A.Schaeffer

I think it will either be Romney, or...

... possibly they will pull a rabbit out of their hat:

Jeb Bush as a last-minute replacement.

Which totally scrapes the bottom of the barrel, imo. And in the event he wins, I will be going Galt.

I agree except fo the "Strong third party" part.

I joined the Libertarian Party in 76 and remianed until I witnessed voter fraud as a prescint inspector in 92 (Clinton didn't win). I joined Ralph Nader who never belonged to any political party, and upon his suggestion, registered Decline to State Party. Since 1992, me and many people from the left and right came together to gain Independent candidate ballot access. We needed and used the help of thirty six registered third parties. We were personally attacked, and wound up with 22 law suits in 17 states that we lost in court. It bankrupted the campaign. Ralph Nader went from being a "man of intergity" to one of the most hated charactors in American history. He has written several books based on his experince, "Crashing The Party" and "The Good Fight".

Ron Paul is right on target to bring this fight to the REPUBLICAN PARTY, where we are inside. This is a much easier fight. All we have to do is register GOP and show up. It sure beats being spit on, yelled at, removed, detained, vandalized for petitioning, "Do you believe an Independent candidate has the right to be on the ballot?"

The NEocons and Neocliberals say NO NO NO and more, they team up to hurt we the little guys with their combined power. I had a detective call me from 250 miles away to say I was charged with assulting a erson. "WHAT???" "Who?" He wouldn't say who. But he did say if I come back and petition I will be arrested. I'm a nice lady, I don't need that.

I Thank God Ron Paul has me off the streets. I don't want to go back. It HURTS. Been there done that. Lets occupy he GOP with Ron Paul

WE ARE GOING TO WIN!

Kinda like

Going to a horse race and all the horses but one are owned by the same guy who also owns the anouncer, race track, judges and most of the audiance. Those few betters who are suspicious sit around and argue over which horse will win the race. Its a joke, any candidate but RP is simply the same puppet of the bank gangster families and will continue the System of creating money as a national debt with a purpose of inflicting immoral extorted theft called tax upon the people justifyed by the false national debt. When the compounding national debt becomes to large to pay back the cycle requires immoral mass murder called war.

Liberty is the only choice for a free man.

RobMe is in it to rob you! GettinRIch is GettingMoRich

And Frothy Santorum is hoping for a job on Fox!

They'll drop when it's time to unite behind the 'GOP candidate' bullsh*t they did like last year.

Until then, Operation prevent RP from a single victory is in full effect. Also AIPAC will give the election to Obama if he attacks Iran and it doesn't matter what RobMe does.

Not in Utah and Idaho

And who do you think'll win in Utah & Idaho? The only candidate that wears Mormon superhero underwear!

Romney drop out? don't be

Romney drop out?

don't be fooled. The puppetmasters have already chosen Romney

John P. Slevin's picture

you ain't seen nothing yet

Brian,

I'd like that, but it ain't gonna be.

Romney has more money behind him than anyone.

Romney IS the institution, he's the GOP.

IF he's threatened they'll put up the bigger bucks and he'll continue to stomp all over the field.

No one inside really wants Gingrich, and Santorum never has been running to win it, he's in it for VP or something else, maybe just building an org for a 2016 run.

Romney had no choice but going for it this time, running against an incumbent isn't the choice anyone makes if they really want to get the Oval Office...he simply had no choice, for him it was now or never.

GOP insiders also understand this.

Their game (and you see it in the money) is to win the Senate, if possible (I think it's dubious, at best) and to try and expand the House.

That's what is going on...that's what is happening.

No true blue blood insider in the GOP gives a rat's ass about the presidency; they understand they'll be going up against one of the best political machines in my lifetime...and they DO NOT relish taking a licking...they'll be sitting this one out.

But again, that's only my take on it, and I'm just watching where the money is going...it's ALL going down ticket.

I'm not saying Romney won't go the distance, but I think you're

a bit off on somethings.

#1 - the idea that the goal is to take the Senate and increase the House margin is tenuous at best. Historically, a President winning a second term has larger coattails.

#2 - Romney's "now or never moment" is NOT this race. His best bet would have been to sit this one out. He would have had a better chance of waiting till 2016 and running for an open seat again. Better to go up against an incumbent party rather than an incumbent president.

#3 - Romney has his own money for sure, and his ego might have him spend it, but so far, Paul is beating his pants off where it matters - he is outraising him in States and doing so with more donors. Romney may be raising more, but from less people and in smaller geographic reach. Those are indicators that Romney is stumbling in the one area he was thought to have a clear advantage.

John P. Slevin's picture

romney had no 2016 option

If Romney had a 2016 option he would have used it by now.

He didn't, he never had that. He'd have sat this one out if he could

He's stuck with doing it...

"He'd had used it by now?" Dude, can you even read?

The 2016 option was about NOT RUNNING THIS YEAR and waiting till then.

It isn't something he just DOES along the way.

It was a decision he could have made to wait it out.

No one has a gun to his head. Or do you know better?

He isn't stuck. He can leave any time he wants, but more likely, his ego won't let him till it's beyond obvious he won't win.

You need to get out more. Your fantasy land is messing with your brain.

John P. Slevin's picture

the money is going into congress

It's primary time, it's usually sit on wallet time.

All money so far is dedicated to House and Senate runs.

It's unique.

It's not going to change, it's going to become more serious.

No serious Republican thinks they can beat Obama.

And, they are right!

This is absurd. Romney and Paul are raising money.

We'll see if Santorum starts to with his little boost.

Money ALWAYS flows into incumbent Congressional coffers early. That's because they are ALREADY holding fundraisers to get it.

It's not because people with money don't like the top of the ticket.

They are donating to BOTH levels.

Always have, always will.

You make it sound so FINAL...

Maybe I ought not go and vote for Ron Paul this Saturday if I accepted your thoughts about this election?? You seem to put all power in the wealthy... still, there are millions and millions of people who love Ron Paul and no matter what they are told they will support Ron Paul even if it is only a few bucks. This election is the most important and vital election for "We the People." We don't buy into the idea or thoughts that Ron Paul can't win..why? We EXPECT Ron Paul to WIN. We are strong, brave, fearless, and we think like WINNERS.

fearless brave joyful peaceful loving grateful, compassionate

think like smart people

I don't need Ron Paul to tell me what is right.

I sure as hell don't require a Ron Paul White House to know what is right.

Why do you?
