Tom Woods: 26 Things Non-Paul Voters are Basically Saying
Submitted by CSA1861 on Wed, 02/08/2012 - 11:39Tom Woods is great.. I shared this as my Facebook status and it is getting good comments, including other people putting their favorite number from the list and being shared to other profiles.
(1) The American political establishment has done a super job keeping our country prosperous and our liberties protected, so I’m sure whatever candidate they push on me is probably a good one.
(2) Our country is basically bankrupt. Unfunded entitlement liabilities are in excess of twice world GDP. Therefore, it’s a good idea to vote for someone who offers no specific spending cuts of any kind.
(3) Vague promises to cut spending are good enough for me, even though they have always resulted in higher spending in the past.
(4) I prefer a candidate who plays to the crowd, instead of having the courage to tell his audience things they may not want to hear.
....
....
(22) I do not trust the media. But when the media tells me I am not to support Ron Paul, who says things he is not allowed to say, I will comply.
(23) I know the media will smear or marginalize anyone who would really fix this country. But when the media smears and marginalizes Ron Paul, I will draw no conclusion from this.
(24) I want to be spoken to like this: “My fellow Americans, you are the awesomest of the awesome, and the only reason anyone in the world might be unhappy with your government is because of your sheer awesomeness.”

DP People Please Pray
for my dad. He's a Rush disciple (gag), and also defends the likes of Hannity and O'reilly (gag & gag some more). I've tried to get through to him for months now and he's a wall of stone. He's in his 60's and a Vietnam Vet, ex law enforcement and was elected constable for 2 terms in the little country county we grew up in a short drive south of Dallas. I really try to keep things between us civil, but that's very difficult considering how far apart we are concerning ideology. We can't talk about this stuff face to face because we end up wanting to kill each other, so we do the next best thing...email. I feel like that's the only way he will let me complete a thought before vigorously dismissing me as a dumb ass liberal hippie (kinda ironic the ways we are different). Long story short, I thought it would be a good idea to show him the hypocrisy of his arguments and I sent him the link to this article by TW. Here's his response
"The author of this article is as big an idiot as the statements contained in it. He wants to make me think I am ignorant or stupid because I don't vote for Ron Paul. Pleeeeeeeeeese. Don't send me this kind of garbage."
Ummm...Yeah. That's exactly the point right? UUUGH, I give up. I think I'm gonna have to do an intervention. At the very least, he needs some Jesus in his life. So please...pray for my dad. I do every night.
There's always a trigger mechanism...
to help someone see the light. It could be something simple or it could be a series of timed events that fall into place just right that begins the unraveling of the old thought processes.
First off, my heart goes out to you because you love him. He's your dad after all!
Here's my suggestion: I recently bought a book that I had wanted to read for a while but never got around to doing, but am currently in the middle of and I think it might strike a cord with your dad.
It is Confessions of an Economic Hit-man http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0452287081/ref=oh_o02_s00_i....
Being former law enforcement he's bound to be a fan of Tom Clancy and Robert Ludlum books and movies (Bourne Trilogy). The attraction of this book is it's a true story and the author displays his old way of thinking and new way of thinking for comparison by the reader. It may be through this method that it begins to resonate with your dad what you have been trying to get across.
I might also encourage you to compile resources talking about the oil/dollar/gold situation in the Middle East. There are some good threads here at the DP already. Start there.
Then look into uranium production in Iran or the prospect of Iran becoming a player in the international uranium market to supply reactors. This is a really good reason why the West wants to take Iran out because this WILL hurt National interests...errr corporate interests...err same thing.

Tom Woods
Its the first time I hear this man speak (just watched some youtube clips), and its funny how easy it is to hear when a guy tells the truth.
Tom Woods, if you read this, I just wanna say thanks man.

How Ron Paul CAN WIN
This was passed on as URGENT by Patriots, to give information on Election 2012
In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way. ~Franklin D. Roosevelt
Time to face the facts. What the GOP fears most is what America needs most.
Neither Santorum nor Gingrich can win the nomination for one simple reason. Neither of them can collect enough delegates to win.
Neither man can be the nominee because neither one was able to get on enough states' ballots to make a difference. (564 delegates that Newt can't win, and over 700 delegates Santorum can't win ).
The media and the GOP are praying to God that the American people continue to remain ignorant of this fact for as long as possible while they try to come up with a strategy that will bury Ron Paul before Romney is forced to face him on stage alone and the commentators are no longer able to marginalize Paul by giving all the questions to everyone but him.
Ron Paul and Mitt Romney are the only two candidates that made it on the ballot in every state. Romney will not beat Obama, he's too similar except he will raise taxes on anyone making 40k a year or less in favor of giving himself lower taxes. Independents are going to run to Obama if Romney is the alternative.
It is a two man race between Ron Paul and Romney for the nomination.
It is also a two man race between Ron Paul and Obama for the White House.
It's time Conservatives and people with any functioning brain cells in their heads started backing the only real candidate that will beat Obama and save America. And whether you like it or not, that candidate is Ron Paul.
The facts can't be twisted to point in any other direction. The delegates decide who gets the nomination and you can't get delegates if you aren't on the ballots. It doesn't matter how much money gets pumped into your campaign by special interest groups. The facts are the facts.
IMPORTANT FACTS:
Fact : Gingrich and Santorum cannot win the nomination no matter how much they get in " popular " votes.
Fact : Ron Paul will decimate Obama on his Foreign Policy stance alone. Add in his economic and defense policies (Policies that Obama ran on in 2008 and abandoned once he got in the White House so no one would be stupid enough to believe he's going to follow them in his second term) and you have an un-beatable candidate in the general election who the bulk of the American people will vote for when they finally get a chance to see the man unfiltered and unbiased by the media.
America is broke and the average American is tired of hearing about another war on the horizon and seeing more dead soldiers coming home in coffins for no reason...all the while the freedoms they are dying to " protect " are being stripped away from us by our own government...one by one.
Obama has ‘0’ chance of beating Paul and Washington knows it. The GOP knows it. The corporations that own Washington know it too so they instruct the media outlets they own to hide it from you.
But now you know. Gingrich and Santorum are mathematically incapable of winning the Nomination and Romney can't beat Obama in the general election.
Ron Paul is the only choice we have. It's just nice that, for once, he's the RIGHT choice and not just the " lesser of two evils ".
YES, DOUG WEAD FROM THE PAUL CAMPAIGN SAID THIS! : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxKpRctPHyc
IMPORTANT NOTE: WE NEED TO FUND PAUL UNTIL THE OTHERS ARE OUT.
I happened to catch part of Rush this afternoon
So while Im sitting in the parking lot of Lowes, my husband went in to grab some stuff, I was flipping the radio channels..heard Rush say Ron Paul..so I stopped.
Rush was saying..'Does anybody really know why they want to be President? Do you think any of them know, or can give a reason why they want to be President? Ron Paul (mumbles under his breath a moment)Do you really think Ron Paul knows why he wants to be President?..(same question ask about Romney then Newt)
Then comes Santorum...omg..Rush was creaming himself..Played a clip of Santorum thanking his wife...blah blah blah..then I heard a few words Ron Paul uses..like..Conservative...the only one who can beat Obama by this time..Im hanging my head out the door..smoking a cig and trying to hold on to the breakfast I had 3 hours before.
So my question to those who have really good speaking voices and can state the issues very clearly...Can you please call Rush and tell him WE KNOW WHY RON PAUL IS RUNNING..AND WE KNOW WHY THE GOP & MEDIA NAZI's ARE IGNORING HIM..
I believe in Hope & Change..I Hope the government will Change

LOL I love it
You hit every nail on the head with profound accuracy.
A vote for the lesser of two evils is still a vote for evil.
A vote for liberty is always a vote for liberty.
I will vote for Ron Paul as either the nominee or as a write in.
Tom Woods Rocks!
I'll just say that this was one the best, most articulate, persuasive articles I've read in a while!

Paul Woods 2012
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Tom Woods should be Ron Paul's VP. Woods can explain Pauls believes better than Paul can. I would LOVE to see a debate between Tom Woods and Joe Biden.

#24 made me smile.
So awesome!

Made me LOL
This is every fkin speach for the past 10 years...
"They hate us for our awesomeness"
Tom Woods is Excellent!
He makes points that are obvious to anyone with a brain.Unfortunately that excludes most of those voting in the GOP primaries and caucuses. The only thing to do is to keep on keeping on....
Ron Paul'08
I love #25 and 26
"I think it’s a good idea to vote for Mitt Romney, whose top three donors are Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, and Morgan Stanley, and a bad idea to vote for Ron Paul, whose top three donors are the U.S. Army, the U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Air Force."
"I have not been exploited enough by the cozy relationship between large financial firms and the U.S. government, and I would like to see it continue."
Tom Woods is the man.
Add Adelson to his possible list of donors too.

Fair weather friends in this business for sure.

I think Tom must've meant
I think Tom must've meant personnel in the armed forces, not the entire Navy, Army or Air Force.
Support freedom and liberty candidates in 2012... Ron Paul... Gary Johnson...
True
It may have been better stated as "individuals" in the Army, Navy and Air Force. Even an excellent communicator like Tom can slip up on how he states things, but we know what he means.
Tom is definitely an asset on our side. It takes a lot of study and intelligence to come to his level. I admire the time and effort he puts in for the Dr. and liberty in general, as I'm sure we all do.
this is a critical point that I hope Tom and
all supporters remedy in all future statements on this topic.
He certainly is not supported by the military Establishments.
Fabulous..... as usual with Tom
