Church Protests Traffic Tickets
Submitted by Misfit4Peace on Wed, 02/08/2012 - 13:25Prophet Bishop H. Walker will lead a protest against traffic laws and the way they are enforced with a rally in downtown Spartanburg.
Walker, head of the True Light Pentecost Church, said members of his congregation feel victimized by traffic tickets.
Walker said laws that require seat belt use or which require children to be secured in safety seats are unfair government intrusion. He said the laws only exist to boost government revenue at the expense of constitutional rights.
"We are not going to take it anymore," said Walker.
The protest is planned for 5 p.m. at the corner of Main and Church Streets in Spartanburg. A church member said they planned to have "at least 50" people protesting.
