It's not "why are they voting for X?", It's "what is the GOP's strategy to ensure a Paul loss?"
Submitted by Pdubya on Wed, 02/08/2012 - 14:21IA, SC, FL, NV, MN. These are the States where I am pretty comfortable saying "things ain't right". More mishaps in MO and NH deliver the same implication: The GOP is cheating on their own.
I believe it would be too apparent if the GOP skewed the results to Romney's favor in every State. It would be very obvious.
And, I do think there is relative concern amongst conservatives that will vote for "anyone but romney" but double that with "and anyone but paul". SC was a protest vote, and I do believe Newt could have won, but doubt Paul's real numbers were reflected. In short, SC DID NOT WANT ROMNEY.
The GOP must know the real deal...what numbers are really coming in, and they must have a strategy against Paul. It really is the only answer....nothing else makes enough sense. If you are still in the camp of the philosophy of "accidental history", so sorry for you.
The GOP knows Paul is winning and they are doing everything possible to keep him from winning. But, they are forced to do it in a manner that seems plausible. At this pace and record, it will be a brokered convention. There is really no real front-runner with recent Paul and Santorum scores.
Santorum/Romney/Paul, perhaps Gingrich all at the convention?
But we must figure out the GOP's strategy against Paul. ......I know there is one. There has to be...nothing else makes sense.
