10 states freed from some 'No Child Left Behind' rules

The states are Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.
In exchange for the flexibility, the states "have agreed to raise standards, improve accountability, and undertake essential reforms to improve teacher effectiveness," the White House said.
A better title for this bill is "No Bureaucrat Left Behind" because, even though it's proponents claim H.R. 1 restores power over education to states and local communities, this bill represents a massive increase in federal control over education. Ron Paul

I know Obama did this without Congress - I just find it interesting that there are states out there wanting to be free from this law and yet Ron Paul is considered "fringe" when he espouses a similar viewpoint.
