The Death Throes of the Neocon Right

After being kind of depressed over Colorado's results, I am now proud to admit we might of won anyway which is great. That being said, I think Santorum's surge is a temper tantrum of the neocon right. From what I can gleam from sources such as Redstate and other sites, they are dejected and depressed. Even they do not want the damaged Santorum or Gingrich making them clamor for another savior (same mentality as the Obamabots I may remind you).

These guys are done. They will either be reabsorbed into the Democrat Party or the Republican Party will fracture... or maybe both. We will be there to pick up the shards and win. We will win.

Indeed ....

"From what I can gleam from sources such as Redstate and other sites, they are dejected and depressed. Even they do not want the damaged Santorum or Gingrich making them clamor for another savior (same mentality as the Obamabots I may remind you)."

Good observation and analysis .....

I make it a point to visit a number of (neo)conservative sites and forums daily ... these guys are freakin' out ... and are gnawing each others' limbs off, fighting over what they deem to be the "correct" candidate who could be a winner, of their triumvirate of the remaining "acceptable" candidates (from a foreign policy perspective)

They know these 3 candidate are all seriously flawed in one way or another - it's simply a matter for each individual as to what flaws they are willing to ignore (and they do have to ignore it, because they know the flaws of their choice, even if they are unwilling to admit or acknowledge it publicly)

The problem for them is, is that cannot come to any agreement - due to their differences (of emphasis on what particular issue is most important, of which candidate to support, etc) ... probably their most unifying force is their hatred of Obama. Good luck with using that.

The thing that is their problem - differences - is the very thing that is our strength - due to the tolerance that the concept of personal liberty and freedom incorporates.

And while they are dismissive of Dr. Paul personally, they are starting to talk about certain issues, largely because of how Dr. Paul has driven the national dialog in the primary process - and as Glen Greenwald @ Salon.com recently commented (with respect to progressives), Dr. Paul is the mirror that they are being forced to look into ....

As a legacy, I can think of nothing more significant or profound than to have planted the seeds that caused an entire nation to rethink itself in terms of what it has become, and rediscovering itself and recognizing the error of its ways, change course back to the game where, ultimately, everyone wins .....

Dr. Ron Paul: Freedom's Johnny Appleseed

.... truly a man for the ages ....

As an example .....

...... of the dialog about issues, have a look at some of the comments regarding foreign policy, nation-building, withdrawing troops, and closing bases over on HotAir:

To the Brit

It's about ensuring rights are protected and the constitution obeyed. To do this, federal government mustn't be sole judge of it's powers. Otherwise, they'd always rule they have more power. To ensure Federal Government isn't sole judge of it's powers, it can't be sole interpreter of the constitution. Legislative, judiciary and executive branch are the federal government, so they're insufficient in checking each other from abuses of power. So states must have a right to say when federal government is overstepping it's boundaries. Only Ron Paul would not use force to crush state rule. Only Ron Paul will veto spending bills, and use the US military for the sole purpose of protecting American interests. The best thing you could do is read the US Constitution, and Federalist Papers and Anti-Federalist papers and the arguments over what powers Federal Government would be given by the constitution.

For a Brit, can you explain

For a Brit, can you explain what that may mean in the long run? A re-capture of the GOP by old style conservatives, or a new party alongside - either libertarians, connstitution party, etc joining together - or a new centrist party with disaffected democrats?

noone knows

but you can be sure that it will be messy! the neocons are not likely to disappear until the older generation passes on. They lived through/in the aftermath of WWII and Vietnam, so that shaped their perception of any anti-war message AND their vision of America's role in the world.

Sadly, we younger Americans won't be as wealthy as the previous generations, so the appetite for global hegemony will likely fade away (absent massive amounts of propaganda and psychological warfare). America is just so bankrupt, so we either get back to basics (as the founders envisioned) or amalgamate further into global government. Nothing is set in stone, but we will have to fight for our sovereignty, both national and individual. America is so incredibly polarized today- that's why the Congress can't "get anything done" (except on "national security" issues).

"Terrorism is the war of the poor, while war is the terrorism of the rich

Ironically

Such sentiments will rebuild America back into a very powerful nation. Just this time around, we will not have World War II Triumphantalism to dictate our foreign policy.

From your keyboard...

to Gods ears! There's still a huge number of George W Bush Republicans out there- Sanitorium is W.-East! Think about CPAC going on right now in DC. Without C4L there this year, the whole event is like a four day convention for the military-industrial complex!

The thing that gets me is this "American exceptionalism" BS; which is basically the foundation of the National Greatness Conservative- a statist ideology if I ever heard one (USA! USA! USA!). If I had Dr. Paul's ear, I would urge him to take on neoconservatism head on. If he could only flush out the fundamentals of the neocon world view, and compare the Santorum/Gingrich foreign policy to that of Obama, maybe it would become more clear that neoconservatism is both statist/quite liberal!

"Terrorism is the war of the poor, while war is the terrorism of the rich

All their talk about limited gov't & the constitution

Ron Paul's candidacy, and in turn, his supporters are forcing the mainstream (brainwashed) GOP to come to terms with it's talk of constitutional government and it's die-hard support of neo-conservative foreign policy, the patriot act and the recent NDAA. All of which they support. But can somehow reconcile these policies & laws with the concept of liberty, freedom & limited government. I see a mental short-circuit on the horizon for a lot of those folks...

Yes, the "Grand" OLD Party...

Is commiting suicide, is not looking too grand. Grandiose; So arrogant, shortsighted, and corrupt. It's a bought off brain washed machine. Move, we're taking over.

The sick part

is that all those average everyday neocons actually think they are 'conservative'. Imagine how deluded one must be to sink as far as that. It can only be concluded that they have absolutely no idea what conservatism is, and just substitute neoconservatism in its place, because that's what they were told by windbags on talk radio and Fox news.
It's hard to fathom, but there it is.
I wonder if they will ever wake up to see what was done to them?
Imagine the look on their faces if it ever comes to light that 9/11 actually was an inside job, and they'd been duped by the stupid "sheepherders with boxcutters" story, and had been supporting the actual neocon criminals and their enterprises for over a decade?
Think they'd be a little pissed? Holy moly!

they would be pissed...

but that is a huge step for many to accept (esp. if they Listen to Limbaugh, Hannity, and Levin all day). The MSM (incl. the talk radio mafia) is just so trusting of the US government when it comes to foreign policy. How many anti-war voices even exist in the MSM? The status-quo is just to repeat the Pentagons press releases and the administrations assertion at face value- despite the fact that they lie constantly and carry out constant psyops against the public.

I am just so disgusted with the Frankenstein monster that is the US government. Most Americans still don't realize that the govt doesn't work for them- it is now an entity unto itself- and self-preservation is the name of the game!

It's just too powerful, they have too many resources (thanks to our labor) to try social engineering all over the world. And all the technologies being developed to scientifically oppress all the subjects here at home!

In your state!!! URGENT!!!!

Good

It is just too bad that people who could help us such as Pat Buchanan are sitting aside idle. I'd love to see their return to the Democratic Party from where they came.
