Stay. The. Course. (hint: it's not really about Ron)Submitted by Invictus on Thu, 02/09/2012 - 16:07
It seems like there are a lot of people flusterated with latest results, jumping on each other and the campaign. Look, we all hate:
* any vote where Paul doesn't poll 80% +
* any thread or post whose emotional tenor is gloom and logical conclusion is defeatism
* any news story, blog post, coffee shop conversation where someone's head is so stuffed with anti-Ron propaganda they can't hear the simple truths of liberty
* the endless, inevitable in-fighting here (because whenever a bunch of independent, informed, self-starters share the same platform, the fur is gonna fly)
...but I, for one, and (I hope you) won't let it slow me down.
I try to remember that every moment that Ron speaks, that you phone, that someone is stuck behind your car's bumper sticker at a traffic light, is one more opportunity for the message of liberty to be transmitted and delivered.
And once it's delivered, the "ah-ha!" endorphins hit the recipient's brain, a new LIFELONG libertyphile is born, the cycle of discovering and spreading the truth begins all over again.
Will we "win it all" this year? I don't know. I (almost) don't care, because I believe the power of truth, the energy born of the love of freedom, and the fervor of this fellowship make that eventual victory nearly inevitable.
Because here's the bigger picture: this ultimately isn't about Ron Paul. This is about freedom; it's about the restoration of the republic; it's about reclaiming our nation for free, open, governance based upon the rule of law and preservation of individual sovereignty; it's about making that ideal real--with such manifest freedom, peace, and prosperity--that America again becomes a model for the nations of the world. That's a tall order, and it will take more than this single election cycle.
Ron Paul is presently our standard bearer, but, in the course of time, he will hand that off to one of us, to many of us...even to you. If we're doing this right, we're working not just on winning this election; we're working on winning the next one too, and the one after that, and the many, many, many elections that our grandchildren will enjoy in a land blessed by liberty.
Stay. The. Course. Plant the tiny seeds of liberty today. Wherever and however you keep doing that, you ARE creating victory. A mighty movement--like a mighty oak--takes many years to reach its full grandeur.
