FOX Cancelling Freedom Watch!

NEW YORK, Feb 09, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- FOX Business Network (FBN) will debut a new primetime schedule featuring encore presentations of the channel's top post-market programs, announced Kevin Magee, Executive Vice President of the network. Starting February 20th at 8 PM/ET, viewers will find additional airings of The Willis Report (5PM & 8PM/ET), Cavuto (6PM & 9PM/ET) and Lou Dobbs Tonight (7PM & 10PM/ET). The new lineup will replace FreedomWatch with Judge Andrew Napolitano, Power & Money with David Asman and Follow the Money with Eric Bolling.

In addition, FBN is developing a new 5PM/ET program hosted by Melissa Francis who joined the network from CNBC earlier this year. The show will debut in the second quarter, at which point The Willis Report will move to 8PM/ET, enabling FBN to be the only business network providing viewers with uninterrupted live coverage of financial news from 5AM/ET to 9PM/ET.

In making the announcement Magee said, "Neil Cavuto, Lou Dobbs and Gerri Willis are the most trusted names in business news and this new lineup affords FOX Business viewers additional access to their no-nonsense take on the day's financial events. We look forward to Judge Napolitano, David and Eric continuing to make significant contributions to both FOX Business and FOX News. In addition to daily branded segments, each of them will be showcased throughout future programming on both networks."

Currently one of the leading judicial analysts on television, Judge Napolitano will continue his role on both FOX Business and FOX News, providing key legal insights surrounding the growing intersection between Washington and Wall Street. In addition to co-hosting The Five on FNC, Eric Bolling will also lend his unparalleled expertise on oil and energy stemming from more than 20 years on the trading floor to both networks as a commodities contributor. David Asman will maintain his role as co-anchor of After the Bell (4PM/ET) with Liz Claman on FBN, as well as expand upon his platform as a multinational economic affairs expert to provide commentary on the globalization of the business world. Stossel, hosted by John Stossel, will continue Thursdays at 10PM/ET.

FOX Business Network (FBN) is a financial news channel delivering real-time information across all platforms that impact both Main Street and Wall Street. Headquartered in New York--the business capital of the world--FBN launched in October 2007 under the leadership of FOX News Chairman & CEO Roger Ailes and is now available in more than 50 million homes in major markets across the United States. Owned by News Corp, the network has bureaus in Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, DC and London. On the web at www.foxbusiness.com

Facebook post from The Judge, 35 min. ago:

It will be far more productive for my work at Fox and the work of my friends and colleagues here--many of whom share our values--if the email traffic to Fox toned down considerably. I will continue to voice the message of freedom in many more Fox venues, and you will hear that message, and we will do our best to alert you in advance of those venues and the times that I will be on them; and we will post those alerts right here on this site. PLEASE BE SURE TO WATCH THE FINAL FreedomWatch SHOW ON MONDAY FEBRUARY 13TH, ON FOX BUSINESS AT 8:00 PM, EASTERN TIME. You have been very strong in your views and generous in your comments about the show, but now is the time to relax and lay low and prepare for the future. God bless each of you. - Judge Andrew Napolitano

Dont know how that stayed on Fox as long as it did!

No surprise.

Fox just sucks!

Brian,

I thought that FOX was a friend of freedom loving people everywhere. How wrong I was about that. YOU HAVE STOLEN OUR VOICE. I don't know why you canceled the show and I don't really give a damn. The only reason I will be watching FOX Business or FOX News in the future is to record the sponsors so that I can email them a nasty letter too and let them know I'm no longer a customer of theirs either. I have DVR'd several of the Judge's shows and will be contacting those sponsors too about my very great displeasure and disappointment with FOX. I guess the political pressure got to be too much for FOX to be running libertarian oriented shows.

Please let Rupert know that he now has a LEGION of disappointed viewers out here. Let him know that you canceled Freedom Watch and I'm canceling you.

This is BCC'd to everyone in my address book.

It only takes one to KEEP AMERICANS FREE. Know your duties & rights as a juror. Stop the unconstitutional conviction of innocents in federal custody. The Fully Informed Jury CALL 1-800-TEL-JURY www.fija.org IMMEDIATELY if not sooner. It's that important.

I'll bet O'Reilly complained.

All the Fox watchers I know, turn the channel to the Judge, when O'Reilly comes on.
So, it was likely cutting into the O'Reilly ratings.

And of course, the Judge was obviously pro-RP, so they had to do something.
I doubt it was ratings, because they are just going to re-run the earlier Gerri Willis show anyway, which is as dull as a butterknife. They aren't going to pull any higher ratings with those re-runs.

here we go again

This was my only reason for watching tv. Now I can rent more movies and cancel my cable. Fox is ran by assholes. The judge is the man!!!!

Fox Business Network Cancels Judge Andrew Napolitano's Freedom Watch
Matt Welch | February 9, 2012

Bad news, freedom fighters! Judge Andrew Napolitano's Freedom Watch, the best damned daily libertarian news & argument show in the history of television (name a better one!), has gotten the axe from Fox Business Network

It is Dangerous to Be Right When Fox Business News is Wrong

My letter....

It is Dangerous to Be Right When Fox Business News is Wrong

After watching the 11pm replay of Freedom Watch last night and falling asleep with Fox Business on all night, I was disheartened this morning to read Paul Mulshine's blog, of the Newark Star Ledger, who reported that you will be cancelling 'Freedom Watch.'

This was the only daily show on TV that I would always watch (or DVR if I could not watch)

I enjoyed the various viewpoints of the guests and particually enjoyed the 'Freedom Files' and 'Plain Truth' segments.
This was also the first show that introduced me to the Fox Business Network, which I WAS enjoying watching.

I would leave the channel on, during the day while working from home, and I even began flipping to it during the primary/caucus night coverage.

Unfortunately all of this will change once 'Freedom Watch' is off the air.

I feel that you are making a big mistake removing this show from you lineup. This is the only
daily libertarian/conservative show that is on the whole Fox network of shows and attracts viewers to your channel (like me), who would otherwise have never given it a look.

With polls showing the views of the Judge on the rise, I feel you are losing a chance to increase your channel's viewership among a new demographic of people.

One of the lessons I learned from watching 'Freedom Watch' is how the free market operates.
If you are supplying a good or service I enoy, I will gladly pay or enjoy said service.
If you are supplying a good or service I do not enjoy, I will not pay nor partake in said service.

Stated differently, I will no longer be watching your channel nor paying extra to ComCast so I can receive this channel.

If you report, I just decided.
Basic Cable will do just fine for me starting February 20th.

Bye Fox

There goes my only reason to watch Fox. Already stopped watching Fox News, now Fox Business too. I hope they loose a bunch of money on this one. Bastards.

Gold. Guns. Girls.

New Horizons For The Judge ??

Sad to see "FREEDOM WATCH",get cancelled, but hope to see Judge Napolitano in a brand new arena, very soon.

Here's my short email:

Hi Irena,
Freedomwatch is an outstanding show, one of the principle reasons I watch Fox over other channels. Because of his actual real world law background, he offers credible opinions that trump other show hosts. I urge Fox to reconsider canceling Freedomwatch.

Time for Libertarian / Liberty TV Channel of our own!

We have the passion, the content, capable technicians and terrific spokesmen for the Liberty Movement.

All we need is mega-$$$ to launch the Liberty TV Channel.

Love what your saying!

Your right we need media representation to allow for our views to get fair coverage. The only point I would make is that we should be as hard on ourselves as we are on others, otherwise we are just replacing one biased media corp for another.

Silver Lining

This will free up the Judge to run for VP!

James Wilson

more likely ratings

than anything else.. found this in a google search from last year.

Being on FBN is of course part of the problem, he would do better on one of the majors and also a different time slot.

This is what pushed me to finally cancel cable tv

I just dropped my set to box at the cable company this morning. Going internet only. I now have an extra $50 per month for liberty!

We all want progress, but if you're on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.

A note to the Judge

It is sad to see the cancellation of Freedom Watch, however liberty and the pursuit of it is a deeply rooted trait in the human soul and it will never die. The show has exposed many atrocities that would otherwise never see the light of day and has often led to the discussion of personal liberty among friends and family. It literally changed the way they think. Rest assured that your efforts have enlightened millions of people and reignited a larger than expected interest in the constitution and its promise of personal liberty and justice. Thank you for your integrity and efforts.

Just another example of why we can call it the NeoCon Network! Not any better than the MSM!

When Fascism goes to sleep, it checks under the bed for Ron Paul!

Ratings?

I have yet to see what the recent ratings were for Freedom Watch. The last one I found was way back in March. Maybe I missed it.

yes

i have been digging like crazy to try and find the ratings also...i found some from quite some time ago, but nothing recent. If the ratings were good there would be absolutely no reason to cancel his show...we really need to find them somehow.

I'm surprised they let him

I'm surprised they let him stay this long... and he can do better. I'm thinking a move like Glenn Beck's except this wouldn't be about fearmongering and cashing in.

This is Great News!!!!!

Now he can be President Paul's Vice President.

For Liberty...For Freedom. Ron Paul 2012!!

Was bound to happen sooner or later

they thought they could control the libertarians with a controlled show representing their views, but i guess the show went off script once too often. RIP Judge, you tried.

the 'media assassins'

Just one final reason to stop watching

They call it "programming" for a reason.

Free yourself from the indoctrination and manipulation.

Throw out the TV.

WE must have our ONLINE TV..an internet basedTV..

It is the future!!!...much less expensive...easy to set up..and it is a growing business..do not FORGET the CRACKDOWN ENVISIONED BY STEVE JOBS ON THE WHOLE TV BUSINESS...soon .....so get ready and lets build our ONLINE TV STATION..maybe DAILYPAULTV...greetings

That's okay. Maybe he will be…

too busy being Ron Paul's Vice-President to do that job. He was too much of an outspoken supporter of Ron Paul to continue having his own show on Faux.
