I used to come here and get news

For the past few months there has been a silent killer on the Daily Paul. Now you don't get anything but countless number of the same posts... I think there was 5 posts about the judge.

Now it is just a fluffy comments section...really the new supporters of the good doctor are closed minded fools who are trying to control the Daily Paul..and it is a shame because it used to be a good site.

I will change this comment to SOME of the new supporters...

The Site also

used to only have 200 people MAX on at the peak. Take a look at the numbers now and it is almost always over 600.

Look at it differently, help teach the noobs. This is not a video game or the wall street journal.

MITT ROMNEY: STILL UN-ELECTABLE

I respectfully disagree.

I respectfully disagree. This is a Ron Paul specific political website. I've been a member for more than 4 years, and I can honestly say that the Daily Paul is more interesting today that it ever was before.

I'm hooked on Ron Paul and nothing else, and the Daily Paul is the ONLY website that gives me my political junky fix day in and day out. I was not a Daily Paul addict back in 2008. Today, I am proud to be one.

Quit whining

Politics is a dog eat dog world, man up, suck it up or stay out of the way

It used to be that Ron Paul wasn't running for president

So there was more talk about other issues. Now things seem to be focused on Ron Paul only, and people don't even want to hear about other news or candidates, unless it is bad news.

There is a certain amount of group think going on here, in my opinion.

Hello

2012 election?? We all have a dog in the race and his name is Ron Paul

I'm here for Ron Paul news

Any and all. It is the daily Paul after all. But after the election I am sure things will go back to a more broad range of topics and issues

there are many reasons

but I think blaming anyone is wrong. we're all to blame. we stopped acting like the underdog about 8 weeks ago, and when we had some reality checks, we just kind of deflated. we need our second wind, because so much good comes of the effort right now. this is where we make the hard earned gains.

also, we talk about blacking out other news sources, like Hannity, Fox, etc, because they've gone negative on us or Paul, or they've blacked us out. but when we do this, then we end up in a vacuum. we need to reverse that.

also, we must have pulled a ton of newbies in, but they haven't had months and years of discussions on debt, precious metals, stormy topics like immigration, libertarian views, paleo views, economic theory ....

those posts are buried in here, like treasure.

we've all focused on the campaign, worked hard for a little while, then sat back thinking we were going to put a serious dent in the machine.

but we've underestimated talk radio. that stuff pumps out crap each day. Hannity, Levin, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Coulter, etc etc etc ec.

When we relax. The neocon propaganda machine does not rest.

To be honest, I feel worn out as well. But we need to hurry up and finish with our "break", and get back in it. The GOP nomination is but one battle, and win or lose, if we show weakness, then liberty leaning individuals who are considering running for office will change their minds, liberty leaning talking heads will get their radio or tv shows cancelled, we'll sag on facebook, and twitter.

our collective voices will get softer and more quiet.

I don't think I need to explain in much more detail that this is a bad thing. We have nothing to lose, we should express our opinions loudly and persistently, we should contribute heavily so Ron Paul can continue speaking out as well.

For some of us, we've heard the message a hundred times. A thousand times. Countless times. But there are many people who have no idea what the liberty movement is about, or what Ron Paul is about.

WELL SPOKEN!

I couldn't have said it better myself, and have been thinking the same as you! Putting in so much effort speaking to others & donating whenever possible, then feeling shot down by the media blackouts, possible vote frauds, and mouthy bought & paid for by the elites commentators! It can really make you feel drained, but yes, that is when you need to get back up on your feet & push harder! The "establishment" wants us to give up & give in to what they want! The day we give up is the day it's all over for the country. WE HAVE TO KEEP MOVING!

Staying "On".

We all have to be tolerant of

We all have to be tolerant of each other and each others interests. At the same time, we must recognize that the DP has been infiltrated by some who want to be divisive and cause chaos.

I agree that I'd like to see less of the conspiracy stuff, at least while the election process is going on. There's infowars for that if one feels the need to carry on about chemtrails, Elvis' ghost etc. Now the election fraud is a valid concern as it does have to do directly with the election.

There's a large variety of individuals on here, and we all must keep in mind our common goals and not bicker over small stuff.

Everything the government touches turns to mud...expensive mud.

mostly agree

yeah im new, yeah, i quietly dig into conspiracies, no i didn't post any of them here, but if you don't think there are conspiracies that occur all the time then you're confused. if you do think that they happen and they have no consequence on our country you are also confused. if you think that they have consequences but not on a national level or in an election, then i can't help you. i think the alien and wolfman and sasquatch discussions are better left elsewhere, but some kind of blanket statement on the rightness or wrongness of a theory based on the "establishment" perspective is nearing collusion with said establishment. voter fraud is a 'conspiracy theory,' yet you support it. you can't pick and choose what you think is relevant if it never comes to discussion. chemtrails, very viable ""conspiracy"" and it has real consequences on life in america and actually should be a topic of discussion at the national level, it SHOULD be an issue that is talked about in politics. you and everyone like you are playing for the wrong team when you try to bury the same exact things that they do. you are allowing them to frame every conversation. this type of thinking is the ENEMY

I agree

One of the favorite parts of my day would be finding a story nobody's posted yet and then posting it with a brief opinion or interpretation just in hopes of making front page.

The good thing about the current state of the site is the explosion in traffic. The downside is that good stories get buried and the "crazy" stuff, like fat in raw milk, rises to the top of the active topics.

It can't be helped though, I guess. It's a product of our demographics.

It's called a FORUM

You're on this place called 'the front page'. There's only so much space on the front page.

Did you used to buy newspapers just to b*tch at the giant picture on the front without going to the appropriate section?

All the conspiracy stuff needs to go away.

It seems like half the posts suggest some sort of conspiracy, from massive vote fraud to chemtrails. I personally would not ever tell anyone I am trying to Ronvert to come to this website because I'm scared they will be scared away by the 'crazies' that us RP supports are rumored to all be.

I can agree on the chemtrails

at least for the time being, but not voter fraud.

Yes, there are those who cry wolf, or just happen to be a little too paranoid, but there are a lot of people in this country who believe they're is massive voter fraud going on. This stuff isn't just limited to Dr. Paul, either. Anyone remember Florida?

Think about it; our government rigs elections in countries all over the world...so why not do it here as well? People seem to think that we're somehow immune to voter fraud because we're not some third world shithole. Yet. It is frighteningly easy to hack into your average voting machine.

Also, voter fraud has existed for as long as voting itself has.

vote fraud

I agree it is an issue and should be discussed, but when it permiates every thread and every loss is blamed on fraud it makes newcomers think we are all paranoid kooks.

I can agree on them too

Cause I did my research.

Yeah...

voter fraud accusations are different from the bizarre chemtrails/Truther/NWO ramblings that put people off. We are FAR from the only people in the GOP race to question the voting process. Hell, sore loser Newt was suing for delegates in Florida! I think people might disagree with our concerns on voter fraud, but that won't scare people away.

I don't play, I commission the league.

Well

I'm not saying people shouldn't talk about NWO or chemtrails, it's just that I think people should prioritize. I'd rather expose people to the 'fringe' stuff after they have a better idea of how our government operates. Baby steps.

Also, seems like a few people got upset over my above post. So many are quick to dismiss an opposing POV. On all sides.

I was JUST gonna say that..

I was JUST gonna say that.. but then you get voted down... Which is proof that too much conspiracy is prominent here.. Anything that isn't the results sought, it becomes a grand conspiracy.... despite the facts showing otherwise...

how come when someone gets voted down

they almost always choose to rationalize it by saying "See! They voted me down! Those kooks!", or on the other end "See! They voted me down! Damn Illuminati!"

Maybe you got voted down simply because someone disagreed with you? *gasp* (and no, it wasn't me).

A signature used to be here!

So true!

I really miss the "chem-trail" & Illuminati stuff!

The "Truther" stuff has pretty well subsided too. The "trusters" probably won that discussion.

Alex Jones hasn't come out with more wacky stuff like the bogus "20 Minutes with the President" for a long time. And the CPS, vaccines, DHS, CIA, NWO raza-ma-taz become tiresome after a while.

The "delegate", "voter fraud" & "super brochure" stuff (which I love) kind of makes the DP into a more civilized forum.

There have been 2 very interesting posts about "I got stopped by the police..." over the past 2 days. They were hilarious but didn't have any of the old style of the posts from the past.

How about bringing some of that old stuff back?

How about no?

We will NEVER convert anyone to Paul's side if they log on to this site and see a bunch of bogus ramblings about chemtrails and Truthers.

I don't play, I commission the league.

Talk about "voting down"

I just noticed my post above had -5 on it. So, you know what I did? I voted it down myself! Now it's -6.

Do I care?

Certainly not.

I used to think chem-trails were a joke and only nutcases talked about them. Then, to my surprise, I found out aluminum dust is used to enhance radar detection of weather patterns. Boy, was I stupid!

Truthers- yeah, there are some unusual twists in that topic but the sadder ones are the "trusters".

Mmm...the irony is sweet

But for my part, since I've been a regular at the DP, there's only one trend I've noticed. A few months ago, if my memory serves me correctly, we would typically have 400 or so members online during most days, reaching 500-600 on special occasions when some big event was happening. Now, I can't remember the last time we didn't have 600+ members online every day, and we easily breach 800+ on special occasions. Viewership from unregistered members has risen at least proportionately. That's a stunning rate of growth in just a few months.

...and to my mind, that's good news.

I hit up DP once a day, but

I hit up DP once a day, but mostly spend my time in google reader now, reading about 20 blogs -- concerning politics, government, economics, paleo diet, and general alternative living. I come here for videos mostly. that's how the site has evolved and how I have evolved after four years here.

With popularity comes changes. We are humans. People like to express themselves. I'll gladly deal with some of the extra "noise" on the site because it directly correlates to growing support for the doc.

when it started it seemed to

when it started it seemed to be a lot about Paul, then after the 08 elections it kinda had a lot more just different news pieces, now that its election time im seeing less news pieces but thats only natural wer're focusing on gettin Paul elected
