Gingrich Is Done: Billionaire Backer Cuts Support
Submitted by JB12 on Fri, 02/10/2012 - 12:05And then there were 3. Gingrich won't be able to compete without massive air cover from the Super PAC supporter Adelson.
Business Insider reports:
While billionaire casino mogul Sheldon Adelson may have rescued Newt Gingrich’s campaign in its early days, today, he may have just buried it.
Bloomberg News reports that Adelson, who has donated $11 million to Gingrich’s Super PAC, does not plan to send any more money Gingrich’s way. Bloomberg is citing an anonymous source “familiar with their deliberations,” though an Adelson spokesman declined to comment.
The move seems to be weeks in the making. After poor showings by Gingrich in the last several races and the re-resurgence of Rick Santorum, the former House speaker has once again been pushed to the back of the Republican field. And Adelson may be shifting his focus. According to CNN, Adelson met with Mitt Romney in Nevada last week and “assured Romney that he will be behind him 100 percent should he become the nominee.”

The only negative I see with
The only negative I see with this is that the longer Newt stays in the race the more split the establishment delegates are. We want those delegates spread out. They are far weaker that way. This makes a Ron Paul victory that much easier.
LoL ... Hopefully, Adelson
LoL ... Hopefully, Adelson will continue burning, i.e. wasting, money on a hopeless cause like Gingrich. Whatever purpose that Gingrich serves (personally, I couldn't care less), I'm delighted that Adelson has wasted millions already. Come on, Adelson. Let Gingrich have $25M more! :)
Know something; Say something
I had a strong suspicion this would happen when Ms. Pelosi kept saying she "knew something" that would assure the newt would never be president. This is what she knew. The newt has served his purpose, whatever it was. No doubt it had to do with the prospects of a brokered convention. Lots of calculating going on.
Santorum Facebook page says he is on top nationally in
tomorrow's PPP poll.
He's on top
of a dude.
Hey GOP, where's my vote?
LOL!!!!!!!
F.U. Newt!!!!!
RON PAUL 2012 AND BEYOND - http://www.ronpaul2012.com/
I'm just appalled how 20 plus
I'm just appalled how 20 plus (corporations are people my friend) can raise over 67 Million dollars for just Mitt and Newt. This is just a small dent on Newt there are still a lot more who are willing to sell their soul just put a status quo candidate. So where do you think the loyalty of this candidate will resonate?
While in contrast to Ron Paul all the donations are from ordinary american ppl who donate small bills through real fund raising through grass roots and on the interwebitubes plus number one on the list are the donations from the US military.
I hope Newt's corporate supporters will implode. And I hope ppl get to see through the difference between the status quo candidate and RON PAUL
"When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty."
the corporation
is the problem.

Just read that Ricky
raised over 3 million in three days. Thats about 3 lifetimes of sweater vests.
GEAUX RON PAUL 2012.
Consider this
While it is good for dividing the field of delegates from Romney for Newt and Rick to stay in, I think if they were to drop out shortly before the next debate, we could see a major Paul surge. Newt does well in debates sadly, meaning he could use it to look 'strong' and 'ruthlessly blunt' like he did at one with John King. Santorum, albeit a terrible speaker, has been parroting Ron Paul's 'lines' and using rhetoric of "liberty and freedom" that he doesn't actually support(whereas with Paul it isn't rhetoric). Sadly many people seem to be reading Rick as 'genuine'. A presence at the next debate could give him a platform for an 'standing ovation' type of situation where he gets talked about for the following days, smothering all Paul coverage.
While I am concerned about delegates going back to Romney, Romney has shown that he's not the conservative candidate, and most people voting for Gingrich or Santorum will not vote for Romney because of that. Them dropping out could give Paul a massive surge, and would be a much more solid way of winning than Delegates(I know Delegates alone is how it's really done, but I fear the GOP is going to try to change the rules and ruin our chances). Having both delegates and the popular vote in many states would give us some grounds to rally on.
All the grinch needs is his
All the grinch needs is his debate podium. He'll be around till the end. Like a disease you can't get rid of.
Ah! That is how the term Gang Green or Gang-Rich got started..
No cure unless you cut off the affect part....Ha!
In newts case, they need to cut off his frigin head..
isn't the penalty for treason ...
the guillotine?
If not I support a Constitutional amendment as such . . .

Gingrich has been taking it square on the chin
From the mainstream media for weeks, since the run up to South Carolina. RP has been getting no press, but Gingrich has been getting all the bad press since the pundits can't always slap each other on the back and declare Romney the winner.
And yes, the establishment have been sinking daggers into Gingrich for weeks now.
Of all the presidential candidates I strongly feel that Gingrich would be the ONLY GOP candidate who would consider giving their endorsement to Ron Paul if they drop out.
Yes, I know it is unlikely, but with Gingrich unlike the others it is at least a possibility.
Maybe RP can guarantee Newt to be the Lunar Prime Minister on the new Moon base.
The Gingrich and Paul platforms are not particularly far apart, barring foreign policy.
Chins, you mean
Newt has been taking it on the chins. (I think he has more chins than a Chinese phone book.)
No King but Jesus, no President but Ron Paul
RP should make Gingrich
Surgeon General.
Hey GOP, where's my vote?
err no
"Of all the presidential candidates I strongly feel that Gingrich would be the ONLY GOP candidate who would consider giving their endorsement to Ron Paul if they drop out."
Gingrich stated on an interview with Wolf Blitzer that he would rather vote for Obama than vote for Ron Paul if he is the nominee... He doesn't want to cut anything, he is not a fiscal conservative, his platform is as far apart from Ron paul's as it can be.
"The Gingrich and Paul platforms are not particularly far apart, barring foreign policy."
Gingrich is a progressive posing as conservative, he fooled many people throughout all these years, just look at the things he voted for and supported. Gingrich can say anything and everything depending on the moment and who the audience is. In the end he does what is only politically advantageous for him to do, he has no real convictions and is the ultimate political insider.
"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom — go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, an
Gingrich is a globalist
Gingrich is a globalist, overseas covert operations to overthrow governments, progressive big government spender. He talks an amazing game and had me fooled for years. Its not Republicans vs Dems. It's Ron Paul vs Reps and Dems.
I follow left, right, and
I follow left, right, and centrist MSM. They have ALL been attacking Gingrich constantly and consistently.
I post constantly on MSNBC and Fox News. Let me tell you that the same anti-Paul posters are all also anti-Newt posters - they seem to pop up out of the woodwork as soon as you mention Paul or Gingrich.
I don't like Gingrich particularly. I don't think he's a great guy. But I also see what I see. The establishment despise him, absolutely hate him.
Which makes him anti-establishment.
He talks the fiscal policy talk, but did not perform nearly as well as he speaks on it.
I also think that personally, Newt and Ron honestly like each other, and that matters.
Like I said, just my opinion.

Gingrich may have called Dr. Paul a friend, but he has also tried to harm him in the past as well.
This is just a small, recent example:
http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/12/newt-i-would-never...
He's pretty much the personification of the establishment, IMO. His voting record proves as such.
A signature used to be here!
Well, Romney did say in an
Well, Romney did say in an interview(with his wife sitting next to him and on his bus I think) that he would endorse 'anyone who could beat Obama' when asked about endorsing Paul. Then again, this is "Panderer Extreme" we're talking about here, so not sure how much that holds weight...
Romney's a no go either
Romney is a banker. Most iof his donations are from the big banks and corporate giants. You think he'd mess with the Fed? I dont think Paul would accept a VP position. He would be hand cuffed.
Yeah, I don't think he would
Yeah, I don't think he would endorse, but hey, it's more 'fodder' to use against Romney if he goes back on what he says(well, if he ever says "I'll never support Paul")
Someone on Ron Paul's
Someone on Ron Paul's subreddit the other day had a pretty interesting idea. They said we should try to draft Gingrich to run on Americans Elect if Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination.
This would basically kill the Republican ticket and make Gingrich look like the bad guy, not Ron. What do you guys think?
Meanwhile...
I just mailed my "No one but Paul" money bomb check. ;-)
Mailed it so Master Card doesn't get a couple percent of it so they can give it to Romney or Obama.
Santorum's Largest Donor to his PAC...
Now I'm waiting for Santorum's Billionaire Foster Friess to drop out. Both Billionaires can afford to keep donating to their candidates. I would love to finally have only Romney and Paul in the race. Wouldn't that be a refreshing debate with substantive questions moderated by Judge Napalitano?

That's right, Frothy gets little grassroot small donations so if Flighty Friess stops feeding the kittie Rick will get flicked like a flea

Adelson is probably not all that particular who gets in as long
as whenever AIPAC says jump they just want to know how high.
He and Netanyahu (who is genuinely and dangerously whacked)
are obsessed with getting Obama out, but if it was Paul v. Obama
they'd probably be all about Barack...
