What happens to the spread betting companies when the dollar collapses

I have recently started spread betting and having some good returns. I am concerned though that once the dollar collapses or starts to collapse that the SB companies will go out of business. Will people panic and withdraw their money from their accounts leading to the company going under? Will the gold bulls make so much money that the companies go out of business? Will the SB companies default on the credit in my account?

I would be more worried about surviving such a calamity as a trader!

Spread betting companies are required by law to segregate client monies. So I don't think you have much to worry about as spread betting providers are regulated by the FSA and ultimately backed up (against default) by the FSA Compensation Scheme which backs claims up to £50,000.
