Top Republican @ CPAC : "Jeb Bush Could Emerge As Nominee @ A Brokered Convention"

Top Republican @ CPAC : "Jeb Bush Could Emerge As Nominee @ A Brokered Convention"

Al Cardenas, head of the American Conservative Union, has said that Republican turmoil might lead to a brokered convention in which Jeb Bush, former Florida governor, would emerge as a “possible alternative” party nominee.

Mr Cardenas, who is running this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), a gathering in Washington of some 10,000 conservatives, told MailOnline that it was not certain that one of the four current Republican candidates would emerge victorious.

His comments came as Republicans fretted publicly about the perceived weaknesses of Mitt Romney, the establishment choice and frontrunner, Rick Santorum, surprise winner in three states on Tuesday, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul.

No! The Bush clan must vanish from the pages of history. We don't need another Cromwell.

Did you just threaten to wipe

Did you just threaten to wipe the bush family off the map?

I had to think for a minute, but then realized what I did. It must have seeped up from the subconscious. And no, I don't want to wipe the Bush family off the map.

didn't read into what you wrote a threat... I don't want another Bush in office either...I wish they all would just go to China where they would feel more at home....

It was a reference to

It was a reference to Ahmadinejad. He never said he wanted to wipe Israel off the map; he said basically what I said about Bush: vanish from the pages of history. I didn't realize this at the time.

Are the American people 3 times stupid?

Who's next, Marvin Bush?

Good point!

And though I ALWAYS rag on Sorcha Faal (David Booth), he did say Henry Kissingass promised the Chinese that Jeb Bush would be president!!! This is all starting to paint a very, very ugly picture. Oh god I hope I'm wrong!

Lock and load.

that would destroy the GOP

TPTB don't want a Marxist in the WH...

...they want their own Corporate Fascist! If they really want JB you know they can cheat him into office.

And that would make a difference..why?

~Your perception becomes your reality~

That would require some impossibilities

Like Romney, Paul, Santorum, and Gingrich releasing their delegates after spending years and hundreds of millions of dollars accumulating them. No, one of them will be the nominee and the deal with be struck among them. Party bigwigs will huff and puff but there are not enough unpledged delegates to make a dark horse a true contender. Romney et al are not going to quietly step aside for a "consensus candidate". Romney and Santorum or Romney and Paul will make a deal where one of them gets the delegates and the other gets the platform, the VP slot, Cabinet positions, executive orders or all the above.

Al Cardenas is just a hack looking to get his name in the news.

If there IS a brokered

If there IS a brokered convention, if there is no consensus after the first vote, some delegates who are bound are then released. Same thing after the second.

I think it's only on the third round that they are all free, so yes, this could definitely happen.

I saw someone on /r/ronpaul say that they might try a strategy of Rand Paul/Mitch Daniels even, as a way to appease evangelicals and the Paul supporters. Romney, I guess, would either get nothing or have to settle with a cabinet position. I don't think he wants to be VP.

The bottom line is not to put it past them at all. By the time this happens, it will be too late to vet any newcomer, so doing this might well help the Republicans win after all. I DON'T think they'll pull it off if they nominate Bush though.

I know that this is a Sorcha Faal story but

this was posted a month ago:

Kissinger vows to China: “Jeb Bush Will Be Next President”

doesnt matter if its a dem or a repub- if anyone

but RP wins, it will be business as usual. Same league, different teams. The higher you go up the food chain, the less they care who wins as long as theyre a democrat or a repub. They have all the spots on the roulette wheel covered. Its when you try to shift your money over to black jack that they get nervous. I know the dem & repub are all the same club, and you know it and if the repubs nominate a Bush, any Bush, everyone else will know they don't really care if a dem is in office.

Why not Rand then?

If the Bushies are going to put up Jeb, why don't the Paulies put up Rand?

Anyone think he would have a shot at a brokered convention?

allegory - ˈalɪg(ə)ri/ - noun - 1. a story, poem, or picture which can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one.

Honestly, he'd have the best shot at all.

He's the only guy our people wouldn't dig their heels in over.

Exactly. That's what someone

Exactly. That's what someone in a thread on /r/ronpaul said. It's scary because a lot of us don't trust Rand, and if he were nominated, that's basically a sure sign that he's got the establishment behind his back, which is not what I think a lot of us want.

They may even want to stick him on the VP ticket because doing so effectively neutralizes him from the senate. That's why if it came down to Ron or Rand being on the VP ticket, I'd have to go with Ron before I'd consider voting for it at all.

Didn't Kissinger just recently say that Jeb Bush would be the next President?

Blessings )o(

And If That Happens...

Then you know the fix was in. Obama beats Bush without breaking a sweat.

No member of the Bush family

will ever get my vote!!!!
