Are We back in Korea? Answer: YES! Update 2-22-12

A young friend of mine, told us that he was going to be in the 2nd wave of marines landing early this morning. He said it was an INVASION, his word, not mine. He could not state if it was a drill or an real attack when I asked. He could not state North or south Korea. He did tell me that he gave his commanding officer certain passwords and I.D. info to get out messages to us if it was needed. This young man would not lie and I think of him as my son.

I just recieved a message stating that he has been listed as M.I.A Feb. 10, 2012 at 0200 GMT @ Nagina Beach ... His body was not found among the collected dead so far ... Will send more info when possible.

I do not know where to begin to search for the truth on this one?

Edit/update: Still no news...other than there isn't any new news. I will be loosing my contact source permanantly within ten hours. I have been searching @ marines.mil for info, but it seems like a site for those needing a 'goody, goody, go join' feeling. Do ANY retired military members have a idea where they post the MIA's from current actions?

Update: 2-13-12- His "face book account is back and his commander is reporting that he has been "found" with "many" others, also that we should be hearing from him by the weekend.
My wife has cry'd for THREE days and tripled her meds! ( I only had to double mine) PARDON my words here but when that little shit gets home, if my wife doesn't kill him, I probably will! DANM governments and their "war games".(At this point I am 99% sure that is all it was, there is always that 1% that won’t go away until we hear his voice).

I am so happy that is apparently what was/is going on. It just isn't right on ANY level. They may not kill, wound, maim, or miss, for real in these damn games, But I now know first hand the "damage" that happens at home. It is un-forgivable!

Up-Date: 02-18-12 Without trying to give away his identity, here is what I know. The good news is that he is alive. The bad news is that out of his group, he is the only one alive. He is now afraid for his life because, "I have seen some things I don't think I should" (a referance to N. Korea's equvilate to the Us's 'Area 51'. Below are some of his statements from his faceebook.

Hey everyone, I'm still alive! Unfortunately I'm on a ship back to Okinawa because I was hit by a mortar last night. I go in for surgery to remove fragments from my lower back when I get to the Island, hopefully I'll be able to walk again soon. Wish me luck!

Wow, no wonder my arm hurts so bad, doc didn't tell me I got shot too. That makes 7 lol.

Tons of shrapnel wounds on my legs, gunshot to the left upper arm, spinal damage and shredded muscles on my lower back. Also massive bruising from getting shot in the chest several times. And a long list of minor stuff.

(Me) Damn, sounds like Korea just chewed you a new one...How high are your chances for a full recovery?

Finally got my phone, surgery went well, but I'm still paralyzed from the waist down. Doc says it might wear off in a few weeks...
Gut trucks have been here all day, I guess a lot of guys didn't survive the night.

They want to see of after 3 months if I'm still paralyzed they will med-sep me from the Corps. And send me home.
Back in the barracks, glad to be out of the hospital, but they took my cool wheelchair away and gave me a plain black one! =/

got hit so many times on the beach the front plate's broke so when I made it to the trenchline / shingel I took out the back plate and put it on the front =P

I'm fine, and I'm just really sore (Muscle aches) and the gunshot wound.. can't feel my back or legs, can't say that I want to lol. Mentally I'm fine, I've survived some insane crap, I'll walk again I'm almost sure of it! I get bored, I visited the shop where I work(ed) and tried to stay out of the way, but it's hard to do alot of things now. We were told that our mission was to capture a facility with WMDs, test their military ability / readiness and also recover some crypto gear that was stolen. Since we are not war dec'd it was kept quiet, but what we found on the compound that we assaulted wasn't just WMDs, we stumbled over the North Korean version of our Area 52...I wount say much more than that without going into better secruity, but it was clear we weren't meant to see any of that. As for the war games and training exercises there ARE several in South Korea and other nearby countries, they are not related. (Also on a side note I've kept my injury from my family, just for a few weeks until I make sure I'm eather good or bad you know? Don't need to cause excess worry...)

Do you even know why we were in Korea....far as the general public knows (or can drudge up on the net or news) Korea was a wargame, a training excersize. Even XXX:s' dad said that was what he could find out

There have been several attacks in the past year I didn't even know about until I got to III MEF 7th Comm BN, this on is a beach landing similar to the one in Saving Private Ryan, just with modern weapons, and instead of those landing craft we are using AAV's (It's like a big box that floats on water, has tracks and deploys from the rear, also has a 50cal on top lol. Might have heilo support too, don't know yet, we are landing 12000 on Nagina and 18000 on Shu' ce, joint opperation involving Marines, Soldiers and Sailors. On Nagina each wave will be 1500 troops, I am actually in the 2nd wave. (The above post I missed a few days ago, before the attack- Clay)

Damn barb wire ripped my goretex, some of the gas they bombed us with in the trenches must have gotten through, bad rash on my legs I didn't notice before...
