Chinese for Ron Paul-Liberty Brings People Together
Submitted by jellyfish on Sat, 02/11/2012 - 01:27Hello, I am a Chinese. I would like to share my thoughts with you why American needs Ron Paul as president and why the world needs Ron Paul as American President.
First of all, Dr. Paul has a correct view of the relationship between China and America. Dr. Paul recognized China as an excellent trade partner, and says American should not blame China for Americans’ own mistakes. Thank you Dr. Paul for acknowledging this. Yes, China takes some advantage of American’s policy loopholes and many other mistakes. But the Americans’ crony corporatism took a much bigger advantage of their own people. To solve the China problem, Americans need a leader who is intelligent and dare to challenge the status quo!
To trade with China is uniting the world. As truthful as in the feudal society, to achieve peace, countries trade with each other and their prince and princess got married. If American can trade with Qatar, why they don’t trade with Cuba and even Iraq and Afghanistan? Get the troops back and make a health environment for the world! American needs a leader who can deliver the message of peace to the whole world!
Secondly, Dr. Paul has a non-intervention attitude towards China. The media says: Ron Paul has a bad record on China, since he votes against condemning China’s system of forced labor in prison camps, vote against a resolution congratulating Liu Xiaobo, for winning the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize and call for his release from prison. These are symbolic votes, really does not solve any problems. But it innuendos that Dr. Paul does not support democracy movement in China. I don’t have the opportunity to ask Dr. Paul in person. But from what I learnt of his non-intervention policy, it only means he acknowledges this problem is between Chinese government and Chinese people. America needs to secure its economic status and liberty before preaching to others!
Last, Dr. Paul’s stand on FOREIGN POLICY IS RIGHT! Actually most countries in the world are taking this stance. I will speak of some truth that no Americans want to hear. I spent my first 20 years in China and I know there is sort of hatred feeling towards Americans at those time. This feeling is more like a mix of jealousy of American’s wealth and power, and the threats from being bullied again by the developed countries. Because Americans want to play No. 1 and police the world and interfere with other people’s lives, many people were expecting a punishment or justice to Americans.
I still remember when 9.11 happened, I was in high school. Some of the classmates actually hoorayed at this tragedy before they realize people like you and me just died. Forgive the young-age students; I believe many Chinese people are guilty for that feeling at that moment now.
But the first reaction of many people was: It is the revenge and Americans just served the justice. Why people have that feeling? Ok, let me tell you. 2 years before 9.11, on May 8th 1999, The Chinese embassy in Yugoslavia was bombed by Americans because American used an obsoleted map (according to American officials). Three Chinese who worked there died and many injured. Many Chinese people believe it is a planned bombing and got furious(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._bombing_of_the_Chinese_emb...) The next day, the windows of the American embassy in China are all smashed... The hatred feeling provoked by the bomb is there. Not mention all the bombs on the territory of Iraq and Afghanistan, COMBINED!
Not many Americans remember that incident, but the victims do. The same thing to people in Iraq and Afghanistan! It is not so hard for the White House to realize this, but simply, they are acting on behalf of some special interest groups and they have a way to waive their children from the army. As a veteran, Dr. Paul is the only one brave enough to tell the truth to people about these wars!
It is the time to choose a right leader with consistency and honesty, not only for yourselves, also for the sake of the whole world.
P.S. I like his age, which tells me he is not there for money, power, fame, career and connections. He is there for us people!

Jellyfish, I'm an American Ron Paul supporter and my wife is a Chinese national.
Don't worry, we're all doing our best over here to get Dr. Paul into office. But the BEST thing that could happen for relations between the United States and China is if China were to have its own freedom movement and its own accession to the status of a free nation.
It is dangerous to have only this single movement in the United States. It needs to go international, if not global, because tyranny knows no borders.
I think Dr. Paul also knows
that free trade has a subversive effect on totalitarian regimes. It empowers the people, gives them more tools and resources, puts them in contact with the rest of the world so they can compare their own condition with the freedoms and living standard of other countries. In my opinion, because of trade, China is progressing toward a free and open system at the same time that the United States is losing its freedom and prosperity.

My own opinions:
People say China will invade American knows little about China and her people.
There is not a single motivation for China to invade US.Who will pay back the debt if there is no America? China has too many big problems to fight within herself. (housing, aging, population, job markets...)
Americans feel threatened when they heard China increased military. A big reason is below, from a perspective of a Chinese citizen, whose cousin is serving in the army. There is no guranteed good job after you graduate, so, join the army (many times people have to bribe higher officer to get in). And you do not need to pay for colledge, get paid and may have a good military career. Which parents would volunteer their only child to the military if they sense the war is coming? There are also too many boys in the countryside...
Also, it does not make sense to spend all the savings and go over pacific ocean to fight an imagined war! China only wants the world know we are strong now and have a right to defend just as America. You can not bully us anymore. (China was bullied really bad before...). If you come over to invade China or threat China by invading her neighbors, we can and we will fight! Recent Chinese leaders are from Engineering major, not political science. hehe...
Even if China send troops over for no reason, this "away match" will lose due to lack of resources, people support etc. US has the most advanced weapons by quantity and quality in the world, which would easily conquer anybody. Besides cities in US are too scattered around and there is no way to win.
It is not a bad idea to picture "China/Russia invade US" as mock-up model since it is a very effective way to keep the whole nation alert. But it is not something you should based on.
If Chinese people can vote, Dr. Paul would have 1.3 billion votes, if not rigged...

Trade with china is not UNITING the world it is DESTROYING the world. I would point to Paul's free trade policies as a GENERAL strategy and NOT APPLICABLE to a currency manipulator like China.
By keeping its currency artificially suppressed by as much as 70% China is in effect trading its labor and natural resources for its industrialization.
This game, great in the short term for China, has disastrous consequences for its trading partners.
When china sells a ounce of gold (as a car, a suit, a table set) for only 400 dollars, everyone of course buys it. Since China unlike Japan does not have to import raw materials, it is essentially selling off its natural resources and labor at a discount... to accumulate foreign currency. It then uses the foreign currency to by the factories and revenue assets of countries abroad. Its an unbalanced system which is a suckers game for anyone who trades with china.
Unlike america, China also enforces 51% local ownership of any company doing business in china, which they use to steal trade secrets.
In order to go into business there you have to be an outrageously greedy short sighted businessman anxious to line your own pockets. This is exactly what brain damaged asshat american MBAs are. Its a suckers game the Wharton MBAs are the stupid suckers.

Two points-Crony capitalism in China is much more vicious than in America and solving China's problem is best done by putting America's, not international, interests first.
I agree with attackapathy that the Chinese gain will be a net loss for the US.
The biggest currency manipulator on the planet
is the Federal Reserve Bank, and the world is the victim of it - including China. This corrupt, illegal entity has devalued the dollar to the point that no one will buy our bonds. Be grateful to China that are still buying some of our debt. Personally, I think they are stupid to do it. The FED is buying the rest (up to 70% I believe). That's called monetizing the debt, and it will continue to destroy the dollar. Eventually, there will be no recovery from this.
Trading with China is how we get rid of our worthless FRN's, besides selling them bonds. They're the one's getting ripped off, regardless of how they organize their society internally. If they are manipulating their currency, it's for self preservation - thanks to the FED. (imho)

Surely many problems have to be resovled for the benefits of both sides. But ultimately, they have to trade with each other.no side can do good without cooperating, fair competition and support from the other side, as long as both countries exist in the world map.
China is puting its own natural resource on sale for near sighted benefits and jeopardize future Chinese generations.Chinese people should worry about it more than other countries do.
Also human's sinful nature plays a bad role on both sides.

Exactly. I'm sure Dr. Paul would love to retire right now. No one would deserve it more. BUT, he doesn't want his 5 children, 18 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren faced with the massive debt and worsening standard of living. He's only driven by doing what's right and looking out for the welfare of his family and fellow Americans.

ugh i'm 'yellow-skinned' american
and i never quite understand the difficulty of feeling 'american' without discussing all these self-confining ideas of racial groups, the excessive obsession over jeremy lin for one. if anything, the only interest i find of his type would be to see whether those that share a similar genetic body build, albeit larger and more muscular, is suitable for a certain type of sport i happen to be interested in, and that is all.
it's funny to see some of my fellow 'yellow-skinned' companions frothing over a guy that probably doesn't even speak mandarin. quite frankly i see little discrimination when you are able to communicate--especially when you speak more fluent--and more sophisticated--english, than often times even people of paler skin colors. quite frankly, when you speak better english than the other person you converse with and am able to express yourself, you seldom see 'skin color' reflected back through the other person's demeanor. and i speak two languages almost equally fluently, so you can save the banana card or whatever other racial dividing terms people come up with.

You are so very correct on many accounts. Dr. Ron Paul is firstly a humanitarian. He cares about humanity, in general. That is what separates him from so many other elected officials in the U.S. and around the world. The world would become a better place if he was our President. If only people would realize that.
