Maine Washington County A L E R T

Just got word that because of a HUGE snow storm the Caucus and Straw poll vote will not be held today, but instead will be next Saturday. To my knowledge this does not affect any other county...at least have not heard about any other cancellations for today, Saturday 2/11/2012.

I take this as a real good thing too. Gives more people time to wake up and decide that the only persoqualifieded to be President is Dr. Ron Paul...

Thank you weather person...even the weather is for Ron Paul.

This is Bad!

This came from Charlie Webster, the head of the Maine GOP and a Romney supporter. He must have known Washington has Paul support because they are announcing the winner tonight: The Washington county preference vote will have virtually no meaning at all next week!

What a crock. Cancel because

What a crock. Cancel because of potential snow? It just decided to snow in one county? Come on. If it is real then I'm so pessimistic about the old gaurd trying to screw us that I immediately think they are doing this just to get extra time to fix the results everywhere else.

I just checked the current weather report there

They do have a winter storm warning with 6-10 inches expected. I still wouldn't trust the GOP to not have some trickery up their sleeves.

PLEASE VERIFY EVERYONE!!!

We must call to be sure!!!!

I would show up anyhow, just in case

GOP funny business is involved. Encourage all RP supporters to show up and if it really has been canceled have a party and strategize how to increase support over the additional days.

There are other reason involved with changing the date other than a few measly inches of snow. For those of you who live in the southern states 2-4 inches of snow in the northern states is about as inconveniencing as 2-4 inches of rain.

A vote for the lesser of two evils is still a vote for evil.
A vote for liberty is always a vote for liberty.
I will vote for Ron Paul as either the nominee or as a write in.

lol

That's what I thought. I saw 2 FEET of snow over night and it didn't stop anyone from going out. 2-4 INCHES???? That's a laugh in Aroostook county.

So - we won't know who wins?

until NEXT week now? WOW! it says light snow... - only people in MASS cancel stuff b/c of snow... this is kind of embarrassing...

TO this day we don't have the rest of NV clark county

I suspect they will try to say the same here. Oh Romey in lead, but all the counties haven't come in yet, then they will go on to the next??? We have to stay on top of them and be vocal when all the counties come in. And report it to Ben Swann and news outlets. WE SHOULD BE TRACKING CLARK COUNTY NV. Anyone have info on that? The good part is that Paul is after delegates, and the rest don't have any, LOL! I know a few of the presidents became President that way. I think Lincoln was one? Correct me if I'm wrong.

This could also be

This could also be disinformation so I would strongly heed the part about checking with you town CHAIR and do not take anything for granted..or in granite.

This

post is legit, according to the Bangor Daily News:

"...Because of a potential winter storm Down East, the Washington County Republican caucuses scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 11, at Washington Academy have been postponed.

They have been rescheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Washington Academy, according to Christopher M. Gardner, chairman of the Washington County Republican Committee. Those with questions are urged to contact their respective town chairs..."

Just like Nevada

Just like Clark County, is this is what the GOP plan to do in every state where Dr. Paul is ahead. Hope it's not that they plan to hold back one county they can rig, then have it sweep for the other candidate.

is this post really legit?

NH was suppose to get 2 -4 inches and we didn't even get RAIN... - I don't think MAINE was suppose to get anything today until tonight... Did this caucus happen or did they really cancel it? There's no "link" to this or if this is true... - Did you post this b/c you live here? :) If you have an update please post... - Thanks...

The snow storm

Isnt going to happen. It was suppose to hit boston but it looks like it is getting pushed out to sea

Maybe

they want to postpone it until after super tuesday so he doesn't show up as winning anything. Also maybe you should take a drive there and make sure they are not pulling a fast one and giving out bad info..

If there was a reason for

If there was a reason for this I would think it's a way to figure out how much they need to beat Ron and not make it look suspicious lol. But it could just be a bunch of wimps in the GOP don't feel like driving out in the snow.

It's nice to know

It never snows in Washington County the 3rd Saturday in February.

2-4 inches

wouldn't stop a Ron Paul supporter - but the others would stay home rather than bundle up and endure the drive just for a fair weather candidate. The GOP understands that concept - it's not dangerous weather, just not advantageous to their candidate.

The snow is barely falling

The snow is barely falling here in the south of the state. People here used to fight through blizzards to go to 7/11 for smokes and Pepsi but they can't do something important when we have flurries? True Maineiacs they are not. We'll be killing it at our caucus today for sure!!

LOL 2-4 inches of snow!

Come on Washington County, you're better than that. We don't even send our plows out for 2-4 inches of snow.

This is fishy to me and shows complete incompetents if true.

They've had all freakin week to get this done.

One word

HAARP

Does that mean we won't have

Does that mean we won't have results until next week?

“Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.” William Pitt

Yep...not until next week...

There are people out here that think that the GOP is pulling a fast one. But as far as Washington County is concerned it is snowing and there are not that many really good roads to travel when we get a snow like what is exxpected.

The question is: Will our votes from next Saturday count for the total votes in Maine? We know one thing, the powers that be do not want to see President Paul get elected. Who would believe this is sthe United States of America?

You are there Cheiro, thanks for the update

But everyone, check and double check any report we can perceive as a change or addition or postponement. Yesterday I read that the results will still be announced today, adding that the county was expected to go RP and that, then could be a negative. Just saying, I don't know, but a caution: Assume nothing, check and double check with your own county and campaign representatives. Who would be believe indeed, Cheiro?

I only know about Washington County...

The whole state is not affected...I can only speak about Washington County. Maybe the reason they cancelled today's caucus is because of the size of the County and the fact that we have, basically two main roads which leads to East Machias at the Washington Academy, on Hill Street. We are about 40 miles from Machias and traveling on either the US 1 or the 191 is not really safe in the kind of storm they have announced. Maybe the GOP did a snow dance? Be glad when this caucus is over...then my wife and I can get the Republican tag off our back.

Best of luck to you Cheiro and Maine

Thanks again for the information...!

CNN is still promoting their

CNN is still promoting their Maine caucus cverage tonight. I can't imagine they would cover it without reporting the results.

Good. Maine activists take

Good. Maine activists take the extra week to get more folks to go caucus with you for Ron.

The other teams will certainly be using the time.

Since when does Maine

Since when does Maine postpone anything for a couple of inches of snow? Seems fishy to me that they'd postpone the biggest caucus in the state. I hope you guys in Maine are keeping a real close eye on the GOP. I don't trust them as far as I can throw them.
