Submitted by Neverquit on Sat, 02/11/2012 - 12:12In 2008 there were less than a handful of people trying to explain this to everyone, many got involved and many critisized the people trying to educate everyone on how the nomination process actually works.

the short version is : The delegate system was set up as it is to assure that there would be no false or fraudulent support for a candidate, thus forcing THE PEOPLE to become involved in the election process and to show actual support for their candidate.
They wanted to make sure they would protect us from VOTE FRAUD and to make sure that a candidate did not win a “beauty contest” but instead win an election based upon merit.
Any candidate and their supporters can do exactly what we are doing if they choose to do so.
It forces the people that actually support a candidate to really support that candidate, meaning the people actually be involved in the entire process, this is why Ron Paul refers to the primaries as a straw poll, that is exactly what it is, a straw poll, nothing more.
If the people really support that candidate it will show in the delegate process, this is how we are protected from vote fraud.

Can someone let me know if you can still be a delegate in AZ? I've been told "no" but the Primary is not until later in the month. Thank you!

You need to check your county bylaws and see when the dealines are. Don't rely on someone else, research it yourself and be sure.

You're exactly correct. This election cycle has proved one thing - only RP has real feet on the ground support. Everyone else has my tv told me what to think support. I wish they would change the polling question from "who would you vote for" to "is there any candidate you would volunteer 10 hours a week to campaign for."

If we are going all the way to the RNC in Tampa, then people need help with their expectations. Hopefully that can be accomplished without a lot of drama.

Just understanding how the
Just by having A basic understanding of how the process works and actually registering to be a delegate is the first step, if we get 50% of Ron Paul supporters to register as delegates we would control the entire GOP nomination.
