***Even if you don't want to be a delegate, stay late and vote for delegate chair if you can***

Just got back from my caucus and learned a key fact, though it may not be the same at every town.

THE most important vote is the election of the delegate chair. It is NOT the straw poll. If not enough people attending volunteer to fill all the delegate and alternate delegate spots, it is the delegate chair that fills them.

In my town the delegate chair will fill 14/39 spots and another 39 alternates if he can find enough RP people willing to go and pay $25.

Who elects the delegate chair?

In my town, anyone that stayed after willing to be a delegate. You can even change your mind or not pay. You just have to stay to vote for delegate chair.

this shouldn't be an emergency notice. people should've gotten their training. I tried to get delegate chair, but ron paul did not have the majority, and a known and liked person wanted it.

I was just relaxing after the caucus at home sipping a beer (I work nights, so it's my evening)thinking about how close the delegate chair vote was, 11 to 10. Then I realized you only had to express interest in being a delegate to vote for delegate chair.

The straw poll meant nothing. Seriously, we could have all voted Mickey Mouse or even Obama for the look of shock and still ended up with the same amount of delegates.

Anyone there that volunteered was a delegate, and we only had 25 volunteers out of 39 spots. Since each slot can have an alternate, every single Paul voter should be able to vote for delegate chair. The empty spots as well as all of the alternates in my town will be filled by the delegate chair.

Remember, if you win the delegate chair, You Win.
