March 6th Idaho Caucus

I live in eastern Idaho and I have been looking at the Idaho caucus web site. I see TBA on the web site for locations. If there are any people out there from east Idaho who have some suggestions on helping to get out the vote for the Dr. and any sure information as far as locations for the caucus, please let me know. I understand that this thing is about a month away, but we need to be proactive and communicate to win each location for liberty.

Thanks,

Please contact me at saferide51@yahoo.com if you have info or would like to organize to help get out the vote in East ID, especially Jefferson county.

Good news for Idaho!

In case anyone did not scroll down the home page Ron will be making a stop in Idaho and Washington state!

I'm sorry, with regards to the "official" campaign but....

1) Idaho is too small and doesn't have enough national delegates and

2) the "official" campaign is spread too thin

3) there are just too many LDS/likely Romney voters

for the "official" campaign to do anything in Idaho.

Good luck, grassroots, you're on your own.

What do you think about a Western swing?

Now that Santorum and Romney are scheduled to make an appearance, what do you think about a Western swing?

Yes I understand the logistics of this but first and foremost, is it even a thought worth considering?

There is a sizable break in the primary/caucus schedule between now and Feb 28th. An itinerary that would include:

North Dakota
Kansas
Wyoming
Idaho
Washington
Alaska

allows the Doc to cover those Western states that should be strong for us and allow him to head back East in time for the other Super Tuesday states.

Better still, the next debate will be in Arizona on Feb 22nd so heading West to rally the troops before hand puts him in a good spot going into the debate.

He then heads East for the Georgia debate on March 1st and continues hitting those Super Tuesday states.

I listed all of those Western states but understand visiting all of them may not be feasible.

Where would those of you canvassing in Idaho

believe folks like me and others not in Idaho, buy Super Brochures?

I have had this thread in support of Idaho http://www.dailypaul.com/211427/idaho-super-brochure-drive and would like to target any purchases I make and anyone else willing to pay attention to where YOU all think they will best be served.

The last thing I want to do is hit a county with a bunch of brochures if it may somehow undermine your efforts on the ground locally. Especially if you think t might "wake up" the enemy in certain counties.

I have a chip-in for Idaho SBs that will end soon and will be able to make a few strategic buys in one final surge about week before caucus begins. I also want to make additional purchases on my own separate from the chip-in.

Just looking for some feedback and guidance so I can help be part of the effort!

Thanks!

I would stay away from the brochures in

eastern Idaho. We aren't going to sway very many here that we haven't already got. Northern and western ID would all be good targets in my opinion. In western Idaho it may be beneficial to add some Ezra Taft Benson lines talking about the constitution in an insert to the super brochure.

What think others? Especially if you live in Idaho, are Mormon, or both.

I'm glad to see this thread.

I'm in Idaho and I didn't know about the change from primary to caucus. Whoa, baby, I'm caucusing and will spread the word to my RP supporting acquaintances. I know hundreds.

32 Delegates.....

This is the fourth largest delegate treasure chest amongst all the primaries/caucuses held thus far.

EVERYONE pitch in to help Idaho!

Buy some Super Brochures and get them mailed from http://ronpaulbrochure.com/id_choose_county.php.

Idaho is caucusing this time as opposed to 2008 when it was a primary. It's us versus Romney and we have strong support throughout the state. Help us reach those folks to get them to caucus!

We also have a chip-in for Idaho to buy large blocks of SBs in key Idaho counties.

The problem we are facing in

The problem we are facing in Idaho is that most people here still think we have a primary in May, even though our caucus is on super Tuesday, March 6th. Maybe it's better publicized in Southern Idaho, but I'm in the panhandle and it is just not well known. And to make it worse the caucus locations have not even been finalized in many counties yet (mine included). It's hard to tell supporters where to vote when we don't even know yet.

The caucus not being publicized can be a good thing

Make sure you get contact information (phone/email/address) for all the supporters you contact.

When caucus information is released, let them know.

When you are out canvassing, don't tell strangers that the caucus is on March 6. Find out if they may possibly support Ron Paul first. If they do, then voluntarily give them the information.

Keeping it low key benefits our supporters.

That is a major

problem we have. Most links for information on the Idaho GOP caucus page says TBA. Something seems frothy and I don't like it.

Just thinking out loud...

Is it possible to have a public service announcement TV spot run? I would hope the state or GOP would foot that bill if there is one. Nothing fancy, just a quick reminder that "Idaho votes March 6th in your local caucus places and NOT in May like last election's primary."

Or, if you can get a list of voters and a little help from one of the PACs, perhaps mailing a post card sized reminder to Republican voters.

Based on roughly 69,000 super voters according to the Super Brochure folks, at $0.32 a piece that works out to about $22,000.

Heck, they might be able to do the PSA instead for that amount.

If the RP supporters activate their network

we can get get the job done on caucus day. I'm going to activate mine, and there will be a ripple effect......

I like the way you are thinking

CarrotTop. I am trying to figure out how to activate Paulians without triggering the stupid unthinking Romney voters to attend. That is the major problem in East Idaho. There is a lot of LDS for Paul. But the majority is for Mitt Romney Judas Iscariot. We need a way to get the Paul votes out and keep Romney votes home.

Maybe we could get Glenn Beck scheduled to speak in Idaho Falls on Caucus night. Bwahahahahaha

Idaho all my life

Ron's going to do a lot better this time around, but you guys need to understand something that the LDS community here Idaho is a different breed of Mormon . I cant say much for Idaho falls, but in Twin and Boise its going to be really tough . Everywhere else Rons going to do well . Some of my best friend in the Mormon community are about as stubborn about Romney here as we are about Ron .

I can say this Ron will get most the anti-mormon vote lol. Santorum and Gingrich don't have much appeal here.

He will probably get a strong close 2nd with out too much effort but a win will be hard.

Not to be a wet blanket...

Not to be a wet blanket... but there are a lot of LDS folks in Idaho. I expect a strong Romney showing like we saw in Nevada, unfortunately. It's the Mormon tsumani effect.

They are enjoying the novelty of being sold

down the river by one of their own.

Beautifully put CarrotTop

nothing like being sold out by someone who you think is on your side. I just can't believe anyone would be so stupid as to think that Romney is for "their" best interests. Some of them actually lie to themselves and think Romney believes in liberty. It blows my mind.

Western and Northern

Idaho don't have the Mormon tsunami problem that Eastern ID does. We just need a strong showing in East Idaho to win the state. If we can get the vote out we could surprise in East Idaho, because Romney supporters may feel he has it in the bag.

How well did Ron Paul do in

How well did Ron Paul do in Idaho in 2008?

He got over 24% of the vote

after McCain already had the nomination sewn up. It was a primary in May back then. Not a caucus. His 24% was highest in the nation in 08.

Let's make Idaho our third win!

After Maine and Washington, and tied with North Dakota, Alaska, and Vermont.

Bump for Potatoes!

Bump for Victory!

Idaho Isn't Just For Potatoes

Another RP victory will be just fine.

I know this isn't as fun

as the story about Santorums cancelled sign wave, but please keep it bumped. We need organized well in Idaho. Huge LDS population that will default to Romney if we aren't on top of our game.

There is a strong grassroots organization in Idaho

Check out all the endorsements from Idaho:
http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?317094-Ron-Paul-...

Try to find a way to contact them. I think they might be part of a Meetup group.

I know a lot of

Ron Paul people in the counties to the north and south of mine. I have talked to them about Jefferson county and I had one guy tell me to contact a guy that I already know who lives north in Madison county where I used to live. I am new to the county and hope to actually organize in my county. I have seen RP bumper stickers here but I want to turn those stickers into ACTION. If we don't Romney will hurt us big.

Yes Bump Idaho... We need you folks to meet up

every weekend and call/canvass your neighbors. Personally this is how its done as In Minnesota they didn't do much advertising at all or did we have any Super Brochures. We went door to door and organized very well.

I know there are a lot of freedom Lovers in Idaho lets see you guys bring them out to vote and select Ron Paul Delegates.

LOL

I posted the sign wave thing and have bumped this twice now because I agree!!!! Go Idaho!

Hahaha

It's fine. I like ripping Frothy and the other candidates for a good laugh as much as anyone. I just really want to do what I can in my state and want this bumped for the people who live in my area to get a hold of me. Thanks for the bumps.

No Problem

3rd bump is a charm.
