Pennsylvania Voter EMERGENCY - Signatures Needed ASAP!
Submitted by D.A.S. on Sat, 02/11/2012 - 15:49I'm not sure if this has been posted yet on the Daily Paul, but this is the last chance to get signatures for Ron Paul in PA and also signatures to get Ron Paul delegates on the ballots. Petition signatures are due TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 14 by end of day in Harrisburg PA!

RON PAUL and the DELEGATES Need 1000′s of Signatures THIS WEEKEND in Pennsylvania!
The preliminary totals show that we are 1000′s of signatures short!!!!! We have signing events all across the state this weekend to ensure we collect 2000 VALID signatures and 2000 to 4000 more to sustain a challenge.
You also have to sign for the Ron Paul delegates to put them on the ballot. Then you have to elect them on primary day. No delegates, no Ron Paul, it is that simple.
Find the signing event on your congressional district, fill your car with REGISTERED Republicans and go sign for Dr. Paul and the delegates.

On the petitions DUE THIS WEEK, you need to know which congressional district (CD) you live in. You can check on this by visiting the PA Redistricting website... http://www.redistricting.state.pa.us/Maps/Congressional.cfm
There's four "local" CDs, CD14 is the City of Pittsburgh plus a few surrounding communities, and the rest of the CDs (9, 12, & 18) are hard to describe because they're so gerrymandered (obscurely shaped geographically). You need to visit the site above showing the 2011 redistricting lines (light blue), click on various CDs (9, 12, 14, 18) to see which areas might be encompassed by your CD, then zoom in on the map to verify (it can zoom in on your street).

Yep, PA is buzzing
There's definitely lots of activity. From what I hear, the signing events aren't drawing the crowds they need to be drawing, and we tried to get the word about some of them on RonPaulCountry.com (too bad we don't have more people registered from PA) and also there's been a good amount of promo on facebook.
People have been working on these for a while, going around and collecting signatures. But now that the deadline is coming down to the wire, I'm just trying to make sure we have as much awareness about PA signature process as possible.
We still need people to come out to these signing events and bring people.

I live here in central Pa
I've talked to the person in charge of delegates in my area, and was told a couple of weeks ago that Ron Paul campaign was having the signatures done by professionals and we would petition to get our delegates on the ballot. I've contacted him again today to see how many more signatures we needed and we have already qualified the six delegates we needed and just about have the alternates qualified. I've spent the last two weekends getting signatures for Marc Scaringi (Senate Race), because we seem to have Ron Paul stuff all under control. We had 50 volunteers for delegates in this area, this is Ron Paul country here in Pa, I have a hard time believing there is any problem with signatures.
Is Scaringi a good candidate to support?
I read his website and he sounds really good on all of Ron Paul's talking points. But did you know that Scaringi used to work as a Rick Santorum Staffer during Santorum's term of Senate? I guess I should not judge people by their past work experiences. But with politics, it is hard to know who to trust except with the records they hold. I would really like to hear others opinions on this.

if you're in PA, get in touch with your district contact using the link I provides and ask what sort of help is needed - every district's needs will be different.

The campaign is definitely monitoring the situation and getting on people to meet the goals, but I put this up to raise awareness to the fight in PA...
Only PA residents REGISTERED REPUBLICAN can help in this effort, and only republican-registered PA residents can sign these petitions, providing information about themselves exactly as it appears in the state's voter database (if any information is different, I believe the signature gets invalidated).
Main thing is to get to these petition signing events with other republican-registered people... Or initiate your own walk around the area to collect signatures either for Ron Paul or for the congressional delegate from your district. It looks like they are more worried about delegates on the ballot than Ron Paul -- so I'm guessing the quota for getting Ron Paul on the ballot has been met.

Only registered Republican's can sign the petition's. They need help other ways, Like flagging supporters in to the gathering, helping set up and tear down. If you offer help it wont be turned away.

David Jahn? He is doing a majority of the coordination in my area. I think he is going to harrisburg today.
Also, is it 2000 per CD or 2000 for the state? We should have 2000 for the state no problem. Some of our delegates down here in CD7 had 1300 signatures to get on the ballot.
