I hope Ron Paul goes on with it, but I'm just speaking the truth, there will have to be a 3rd party, because the numbers are ...

still way to low, the Republican party is over with you can see this in the polls and nubers in the turn outs, This election has been on day after day threw out the United States, and look and the turn out

its bad very bad, People will vote for Paul but they will not go Republican, and there is not enough Republicans to take on the Dems, and they can try to pull a Jeb Bush but then the whole nation will vote DEM

...how refreshing

first off, have you not seen all the computer vote fraud, spend

some good time researching that and then send letters to editors, letters to Congress and Senate, and fight to get the computer out of elections. Then look at this fraud:

“Sen. Santorum’s ethics issues stem from the manner in which he funded his children’s education and his misuse of legislative position in exchange for contributions to his political action committee and his re-election campaign,”

For cripes sake STOP believing the MSM!

It's about delegates.

The GOP

is shrinking and I believe the Dem Party is as well. More voters are changing their affiliation to independent. If the GOP gets hammered in 2012 than I would not be surprised to see the GOP go the way of the whigs. Ron Paul is the only man that can save the GOP.

That's actually WHY it makes it even more important (and easier)

to control the party.

But it wont happen if you quit.

And then you'll be right back here b*tching again in 2016 when Rand gets the shaft and wondering why when we told you OVER and OVER.

You HAVE to be involved. That's the long and the short of it. 100% of the time. Yes, from Nov 8 2012 on for the 2016 cycle.

can whisperingjoe write a complete sentence?

The inability of whispering Joe to write a complete sentence speaks to the inability of whispering Joe to do much of any reasoning.

All that can be deciphered from the mutterings of whispering Joe is that Ron Paul remains a threat.

HE CAN AND WILL - TROLL

IF ron paul does not get the nomination - and paul did go third party - his chances would probably go up. because i bet you right now he gets 20% the rep vote 20% the dem vote - and ur already at 40% national vote. BUT . this post - when he very well could be leading - and very well could be the man all 3 want to endorse and get vp under - after this many states - noone wants him to run 3rd party. if it came to it yes. but to say that right now? when we might be able to win OUR PARTY over. you are foolish. we dont want to divide we want to be unite

Circus of petition challenges in Illinois

Posted by j.trigg on June 29, 2010 | Comments (0) | Trackbacks (0)

Monday, June 28 2010, was the last day for filing objections to candidate petition signatures in Illinois for the November election. There were 81 objections filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections by 22 different objectors against a number of candidates. Christina Tobin, CEO of Free & Equal Inc., today responded to those petition challenges filed to kick candidates off the ballot for the Illinois election this November.

“All of the people who filed objections to candidate petitions should immediately disclose to the voters of Illinois why they are holding up ballot access for these candidates,“ said Christina Tobin. “The private challenge system Illinois has is bad enough without the circus of objections that were filed yesterday. The voters deserve an explanation for these objections and more transparency from the challengers.“

“Numerous petition challenges through recent years have turned out to be frivolous wastes of scarce government resources. We intend to expose those challengers who are not playing fair,“ said Tobin. “Illinois saw pointless petition challenges during the last two races for state officers. They are about to see the same insanity happen again in 2010.“

In 2006, Green Party candidate for Governor Rich Whitney and the Greens’ statewide slate withstood a petition challenge that was found to be unwarranted. Gubernatorial candidate Cal Skinner and his Libertarian Party slate also made it on the ballot in 2002 after a senseless challenge.

According to the Illinois State Board of Elections website, there were 81 objections filed against independent and new party candidates during this filing period. Sharon Ann Meroni of Barrington Hills filed 32 objections, Rob Sherman of Buffalo Grove filed 13 objections, Andrew Heffernan of Stickney filed 11 objections, Thomas P. Dunaway and Ella White from Chicago filed 5 objections, and Phillip Hunt of Oak Park, Robert R. Slover of Peoria Heights, and Blake Phillip Sercye of Chicago each filed two objections. An additional 14 other objectors filed one challenge each.

“Independent and alternative party candidates should be held to the same standard as the established parties of simply 5,000 signatures, instead of the 25,000 Illinois state law requires of them,” said Tobin. “We are going to expose the challengers taking advantage of the discrimination inherent in our election laws.“

“With that many challenges filed this year, close to a million signatures, if not more, will have to be verified over the coming weeks and months, all at a significant cost to the taxpayers“, said Tobin. “The drain to government budgets could well reach into the millions.“

“These objectors are taking advantage of a flawed and unfair system,” said Tobin. “Rod Blagojevich and George Ryan used petition challenges to favor themselves politically. We know petition challenges are not immune to abuse. The objectors should come clean about their intentions immediately.”

You must not be listening

to what the campaign has said its strategy is. Besides Florida, Ron Paul has taken the most delegates of anyone so far in each state. The delegate totals being put up by msm are projected totals figured by the media. But in reality, the Ron Paul supporters have been staying late and taking most of the delegate spots. It is going just as planned.

So you said in 2008. How did

So you said in 2008. How did that turn out? It means NOTHING without winning states. And not just one. Not even just 5.

We need Ron Paul to be president

I cannot think of anything that would make me happier than Ron Paul going outside the 2 party system and winning the general election. But history has told us that this is very unlikely so I am putting all my efforts into getting Ron Paul the GOP nomination.

http://wilco287.com/

Lots of Unhappy Democrats,Ripe For Picking !!

One SC Blue Republican right here !!Somehow we have got to cultivate the Democratic vote,as many will not vote Obama now,and probably won't vote at all in the general election. What a waste of votes.I come from a long line of SC Democrats and I never dreamed that I would ever vote republican, but then;they've never had a candidate even close to a Ron Paul.

not right now

this is not the way to go yet, Dr Paul has sooo much more free media coverage as a result of being in this race, we need all of that we can to gather converts, we must win hearts and minds, not beauty contests, even the guy that announced the maine result kinda smirked at the idea that romney won the beauty contest, but he knows, and all the GOP in Maine know Ron is winning delegates and converts.

Which numbers are you looking at?

Don't forget, winning a majority of the primary and caucus votes was never the goal because that's not what's important. Many of these state contests are little more than a straw poll. The delegate count is all-important, especially in a brokered convention. The count the media puts out is ridiculous since the national convention delegates don't yet exist and are not yet awarded. Except for super-delegates they will be elected in a multi-stage process that begins with those who volunteered to be precinct-level delegates.

By the campaign's estimate, Ron Paul has garnered the most precinct-level delegates. If they play their cards right they can make the next delegate tier even more solid for Paul and the state delegates 100% for Paul. Ron Paul is a long way from "finished" in the nomination process.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

The easiest way to tell that

The easiest way to tell that you are talking to a child is if they think thatthere will be a brokered convetion.

There isn't.

What you are doing is like being down to your last $5 and having a $250,000 mortgage on your house and planning on paying it off by heading to Vegas and betting on 00 and letting it ride, hoping it comes up 3 times in a row.

...it seems that...

...you're here to discourage good people...

I deeply resemble that!

Nevertheless the twists and turns taken so far in this primary campaign have done little to buttress your case. Looks like we have opposing bets and the roulette wheel is spinning. Best of luck.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

Been there done that!

That's the answer Dr. Paul has given time and again regarding the third party talk and it's the same answer he will give if he comes up short of getting the Republican nomination. We shouldn't even be THINKING about this nonsense right now. We've got states and delegates to win. If you vote third party or write in Ron Paul, your vote will be MEANINGLESS! The ONLY rational thing to do is to campaign like our country depends on it (It actually DOES), and at the very least have enough delegates at the Convention to force a change of platform in the GOP and get Rand the VP slot. NEVER GIVE UP!!!

Here is a silly question…

Alright, don't anyone get angry. This is just a question, even if it is a silly one. Why can't Dr. Paul be a republican who is also the Libertarian Party candidate? And there could/may be other parties that also have him as their nominee as well. I think that every 3rd party group in this country might just need to find a single individual to support for the purpose of ending this ridiculous two party system we have in this country. I mean, this election might just be one of, if not the, most important election of our lives. It might just be necessary for all like minded people to join together and do something different. To borrow a line from Apple computer… Think Different.

The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men and women to not support Ron Paul!

They'll screw Ron Paul all the way to the end.

Even if he's successful in gathering a bunch of delegates, they'll simply change some rules at the convention. What's it going to take for people to see this? So, what to do now, because what they did tonight wasn't just about little ole Maine, it destroyed Ron Paul's opportunity for any success on Super Tuesday. He'll be just another 3rd, 4th place. Believe me, the media will have this hammered home with plenty of air time. Don't believe it? You will. Stay the course for now, Mop up all the media you can, step up the limited government rhetoric, start mentioning the broken two pary system, and make some phone calls to Jesse ventura, Judge Nap, and Gary Johnson. Why is it that 80% of people say they are disgusted with the 2 party system, yet nobody knows how to capitalize on it? Why is that? Somebody, sometime will WIN a third party attempt. Is that so far fetched?
