LAST DAY TO SIGN PETITIONS AND HELP RON PAUL.
IF THIS IS NOT DONE, NO RON PAUL ON THE BALLOT IN PENNSYLVANIA!

The preliminary totals show that we are 1000′s of signatures short!!!!! We have signing events all across the state this weekend to ensure we collect 2000 VALID signatures and 2000 to 4000 more to sustain a challenge.
You also have to sign for the Ron Paul delegates to put them on the ballot. Then you have to elect them on primary day. No delegates, no Ron Paul, it is that simple.
Find the signing event on your congressional district, fill your car with REGISTERED Republicans and go sign for Dr. Paul and the delegates."

The problem with getting signatures was the redistricting. There was a little confusion, and littler time to get signatures. BUT, I think we should be fine.

Work Together as a TEAM
Ron Paul is the true choice of "We the People" for President and we want our vote to COUNT for Ron Paul. With his impressive following around the nation (and around the world), I find it difficult to believe this great man would not be able to collect more than enough signatures to insure his name will appears on all ballots.
Let's work together and do whatever we can to help remedy this situation and prevent anything like this from happening in the future.

I'm from PA and I think this is a lot of drama but it's good drama and gets butts in gear. What's the next state deadline? What's the next challenge? Help me out people from other states!
Hey folks
I know I've already posted this and it may be getting old to some of you who have already read it, but I've found a method to convert Republican voters that is working tremendously. I've been going to Republican Facebook pages and Republican politicians' Facebook pages in my state and politely asking them to vote for Ron Paul while including Endorse Liberty's 15 minute documentary on Paul's foreign policy. So far I've been getting excellent feedback. Most Republicans are NOT Neocons. They just don't know any better because 99% of the "Conservative" media they get is Neocon controlled. There are millions of GOP voters out there just waiting to be woken up.

saying you will file does not necessarily mean you have all the signatures needed yet, or that you even know if you do ...
I wouldn't expect the Paul camp to say they are not sure if they can file, would you?
Bottom line -- this little blurb "says they will meet deadline" really doesn't tell us much about the situation.

But 2 girls brought a petition into the republican club in Hanover for Newt and out of about 100 people asked they got 4 signatures. Everyone was going to sign it until they said who it was for.

You are right
PA should be fine. The only district that was struggling was 2, BUT they may be ok. We got well over the number needed of 250 per delegate. The number needed for Ron Paul should have been well exceeded.

Delegates aren't the problem
Problem is Paul himself. Each delegate and alternate delegate needs 250 valid republican signatures from within their congressional district, so realistically you need like 350+.
Paul himself needs 2000 valid republican signatures from across the state.
Please tell me this is a joke
Am i missing something. How do we not have enough signatures - are you only allowed to start collecting after a certain date or something? Does no one in the campaign own a calendar?

In Pennsylvania, signatures can only be collected between January 24th and February 14th, yet people have been saying for months that he's "on the ballot in all 50 states".

It is very misleading to hear "he is on in all 50" when clearly nobody was on before January 24th. Is it just me - or are other people really scratching their heads. How effin hard can it be to get 2000 signatures in 20 days - you are talking 100 a day - ok double that for safety - 200 a day. This is a campaign for the presidency - not dog catcher. I have never been a part of a campaign, but looking at all candidates across the board - it amazes me how crappy the organization is. This is as bad as having spelling mistakes on your resume - just inexcusable.
How are the other candidates doing in PA?

...Santorum didn't make the Indiana cut, if the challenge to his ballot-access is sustained (as it should be, according to the rules), but he is from PA. Did he qualify? What about Newt?

Major stuff left out-- Do you have to be a PA resident to
collect, Do you have to be 18 to collect, Do you have to be Republican to collect, what are the rules/ regs for collecting? Including, how are the signers supposed to sign & what details are they supposed to give. Collect the signatures so they count, people.

For some reason, we're expected to know every law that exists in America & in our state so we don't break it. We're supposed to know this when we're 18. There's no litmus test for them, as in the 10 commandments or rhyme or reason. C.U.R.E.
Lots of restrictions
In short, the petitions must be notarized and filed in Harrisburg by 5PM, but the campaign is trying to collect them at a hotel by 2PM.
Person carrying the petition must be a registered republican in PA. The person signing must be a registered republican in PA. Each petition sheet must be for a different county, so for example, a voter registered in Erie county could not sign a petition that is for Allegheny county. You can carry around multiple petitions (I usually brought 3 petitions with me for each county surrounding mine). The address on the signature line must match the signers' voter registration, so if someone moved and hasn't updated their voter registration and they write their new address, that's not valid either.
It gets more picky than that. For example, one of the fields on the petition is for your municipality. A lot of people write their mailing address instead of their municipality.
When the signatures are challenged, it's really up to the judge as to what to accept. I've heard stories of extremely picky judges and some very lenient judges. The point is you need a lot more signatures to be able to withstand challenges due to all of the possibilities of errors in the signatures.

By 5 PM tonight do you mean mailed by then or delivered to Harrisburg??? I don't have transportation so my only way of signing is by mailing in the sheet myself. ...and try and get a few more. I wish I would of found the petition template sooner, gah angry with myself.
