I won't let Ron Paul down, will YOU? ( the ripple effect)

I'm stepping out of my comfort zone to canvass and I invite you to do the same. I want NO REGRETS and want to be able to tell my children that I did everything I could. Someone from the meetup just sent me my precinct walking list and I am going out with my 60 year old mother while my 70 year old father watches my small children. Sunday morning, all day Monday and Wednesday I will be walking my precinct. If you are standing by watching wishing you could put Ron Paul in the White House and as our commander in Chief, please consider putting your boots to the ground. For those already out there, any tips are appreciated!

The four

basic steps of selling are:

1)GREET: By being genuine and respectful of their time and household. (if you are canvassing) Understand that you are potentially intruding on their private property and whatever plans they may be getting ready for, or in the middle of. (sex, dinner,TV, kids, etc.)

If you get a signal they are open to talking, then move to step 2

2) QUALIFY: them by asking them "open ended" questions that get them to open up and start talking, rather than just answering with a one word response.(yes,no)
Actively listen to WHAT they are saying, and communicate that you are listening with body language and eye contact. This step is crucial to get right.

3)RECOMMEND: solutions to them, based on the answers they give you. The better you've qualified them, the better recommendations you can make for them. Remember, people buy benefits, not features. They want to know what is in it for THEM and how THEY will benefit.

4)CLOSE: the sale. This is the hardest step because it entails asking someone else to take some sort of action. People are often uncomfortable doing this, but if you have done the first 3 steps properly, then you have most likely built some sort of rapport with them and it should be easier. There's no sense in chasing the deer all through the woods if you're not going to kill it.
(just a metaphor)

Many times "objections" are just unanswered questions. They simply might not have enough information, or you did not qualify and recommend to them properly. It is important to monitor THEIR body language throughout the conversation to get a feel for how you are doing..

People want someone they can trust more than anything. They also want someone who understands the economy. Republicans just want someone who they perceive can beat ohmamma.
Essentially you want to try and get a quick assessment of your audience, so you get a feel for what they might be responsive to. That (once again) is done through proper "qualification."

This is a bare bones crash course in sales/communication.

You might also want to research things like how to build rapport and consensus.

The best part is that you have one of the greatest stories to tell about RP, and you most likely wont have to explain away any skeletons, unless they have been pre-programmed" by the MSM.
Happy hunting, and good luck. I'm sure you'll do fine.

Thank you for taking action.

If everyone does this

they cant steal caucuses if he wins by a LANDSLIDE because we all canvassed

Flyer your grocery stores suggestion

A person could print something out like this, or you find something you like better, and then print them out and cut them into flyers and hand them out at a grocery store or some other place in your community.

I printed these out and used them in NH. He happened to win my ward by a few votes to edge out Romney. I, of course, like to think I might have played part in that.

WE ARE RON PAUL

grassroots! Thank you!

There Were 8 of us

...in 37 degree weather doorknocking today from 10am to 1pm in the towns of Havre de Grace and Aberdeen, Maryland. We've been going out every Saturday for the past month, and will continue to do it until our Primary on April 3rd.

If any of those people read this tonight, congratulations, you guys/gals rocked!

Please go out and do the same, whereever you live. If we can do it in 37 degree weather, you can do it as well. It's a fantastic way to learn where people are at politically, and you get to meet new people, new supporters, and learn the streets in your community.

:-)

Thank you for your effort. If

Thank you for your effort. If there is a state in this nation that NEEDS Dr Paul, it is Maryland.

Any tips, Joey?

What did you say, strategy tips?

Please pledge your canvass here

Most important thing!

Canvassing is the most effective thing you can do, I think. Well, anything where you're talking to people IN PERSON. I found some success at fair/gun show booths as well, and obviously we need to work on people we know. Everywhere you go, bring up Ron Paul somehow. And be friendly, it makes an impression, even if you don't see the results directly. I canvassed my entire precinct (except for Democrats, and I wish I had made time to get to them too), and Ron Paul won. I don't think it's entirely me, but really, canvassing works! Best of luck and thank you! As for advice, I'm not really sure... just make sure you take a variety of literature with you and take detailed notes, especially thorough contact information so we can turn them out on voting day. Try to get some other supporters to join you too, help out neighboring precincts! The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few...

Thank you, footsoldier for freedom!

Your story motivates me!
