...and pray for them". As I became disgruntled over the shenanigans of the GOP yet again, this time in the Maine caucuses, as I searched to find meaning in this circus a calm came over me, and the words from the Biblical quote above echoed in my head. "Love Thy Enemies". I am not bound by the actions of those who do wrong. By letting myself feel depressed over their actions, I am in chains to them. But the reality is, that I am not in chains to them. I am free. I do not hate those who take such wrong action, but the thing that they do wrong, I hate. There is freedom in understanding there is a much greater power at work in this world than evil. Though the deeds of those who take a bribe are wrong, they do not go unseen & eventually will be dealt with. There is freedom in not truly knowing what tomorrow holds, not being completely in control of everything, in leaning in on the strength that is not seen, the goodness of God. Ron Paul's humble approach to the misdeeds of the GOP, Media & power brokers is just another example of how being kind to others & loving them despite their hatred toward you, is way more powerful then returning hate for hate. Returning love for hate "heaps hot coals on their heads". Love is central to this Revolution. Does this mean we don't want to reveal the corruption? Absolutely not, in fact I just got off the phone with the Maine GOP expressing my grievance & I will give more money & work even harder in spite of the corruption...but it does mean that showing love to those who hate you is eternally more powerful than returning their hatred with hatred. I am grateful for the example of Ron Paul's humility in the face of hatred & slander. Much fruit will come from this campaign, perhaps even a nomination, because Ron Paul is driven to action out of love, & it is very powerful. I hope to remember this principle in all conversations & political action. Peace.
