Full steam ahead to Michigan!
Submitted by Buzz Fisher on Sun, 02/12/2012 - 00:01The next primaries are on February 28th, they are Arizona and Michigan. Of these two, Michigan looks like a better bet for us because
1. It's a "semi-open" primary (Indies and Dems can vote in it if they declare themselves to be Republicans at the polls; many of these voters are likely to be "Blue Republicans"). AZ is just a plain ol' closed primary.
2. Many of the delegates in MI are allocated proportionally; the rest are split up by congressional district. Arizona is winner-take-all.
3. There is at least one Ron Paul supporter (Justin Amash) representing Michigan in the U.S. house. He hails from the 3rd district, which could very well provide Ron a delegate or two (if it turns out to be as supportive of Paul if it was of Amash). I think Amash should go around his district (and the rest of the state) in the next few days to try and whip up support for Paul.
4. Paul got over 6% in 2008; that's almost as much as he got in New Hampshire that year, and far higher than he got in Arizona or South Carolina.
Michigan is Romney's home state; if we win there and he loses, or if he only beats Ron by single digits (as happened in Maine), it will be very embarrassing for Romney and will weaken him in the long run.
So let's get out and do this! Let's help GOTV in Michigan and deliver an unpleasant surprise to Mitt Romney in his home state!

Also we have the
AMAZING Justin Amash as the Congressman from the 3rd district to represent us . He votes the way Dr. Paul does.. not authorised not voted for. Dr. Paul endorsed him and that was good enough for me ! ( and my 3 children) We are a Ron Paul Family! Also Justin posts all of his votes online for all to see with the reason for his vote. UNHEARD OF!

Michigan for RP - Newbie chimes in
I am 37 years old and from the western part of Michigan along the Big Lake. My youngest brother gave me RP's book Revolution three years ago. Change me forever for the better. He will be voting RP (first timer for RP) I will be voting RP (First Timer for RP) I convinced my wife, she will be voting RP (first timer for RP). I convinced my mom and dad, they both already voted RP (first timers for RP) here in Michigan with an early ballot.
I stopped into a local breakfast place with my wife and kids Sunday. Saw Mittens on the TV, and said out loud - "let's go Ron Paul" the owner said "you like Ron Paul" I said "heck yes, if you want to save our country, you like Ron Paul" The waitress butts in and says "I love Ron Paul, I'm voting for him" and no joke, this is a true story, the cook comes out and says "Did someone say Ron Paul?" "He's the only candidate worth voting for." In a matter of minutes there were five votes: my wife, me, the owner, the waitress and the cook all voting for Ron Paul! Gave me hope!
Yard Signs will be here any day! Michigan for Ron Paul. You can bet I will continue to try to convince anyone and everyone why Ron Paul is the only candidate worth voting for, regardless if he gets the nomination or not. For Liberty, for the Constitution! Ron Paul or Bust!

MICHIGAN IS NOT A SEMI CLOSED THAT IS A WAY TO CONFUSE PPL but you are right over all. the GOP IN november or october i forget but passed this bill.. its all about wording..... you have to only "ask" for a republican ballot.... ALSO - THE DEMS CANCELLED THEIR MICHIGAN PRIMARY ALTOGETHER. you can vote for the reps and still have your free choice in the national. this is PURPOSELY DONE in my opinion. i live in michigan and have converted countless dems that would not have voted otherwise. also - watch delta, marquette, iron cou, houghton, baraga, schoolcraft etc. the whole upper half of michigan looks good for paul very good... signs everywhere - not 1 for anyone else. the part that doesnt belong int he mitt..... 1 delegate - but that will probably go to paul! BUT PLEASE EXPOSE THIS AND SHARE THIS!!!!!!! MICHIGAN GOP PURPOSELY CAUSING CONFUSION. IT IS NOT CLOSED. YOU DO NOT EVEN HAVE TO DECLARE YOURSELF A REPUBLICAN U SIMPLY HAVE TO ASK FOR REP BALLOT.

No matter what the final numbers are, EVERY vote is important. Every vote for RP is one more little push forward for everyone who hasn't yet voted, and one more confirmation for those who already have -- plus it makes Ron happy. We are all watching you!

Is a lost cause! Too many white hairs there. A strong second in MI would be good enough for me. A win would be an awesome miracle.
The Problem
Mitt's dad was former Governor of Michigan. It's almost a home state for Mitt.
But we also have Justin Amash R MI
Who, like Ron Paul only votes what the good of the people calls for.He has been talked about as someone who cannot be bought.. Just like Dr. Paul and in fact was endorsed by Dr. Paul.. That's true, but...
...his "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt" spiel (http://www.examiner.com/elections-2012-in-chicago/mitt-romne...) isn't going to help Mitt Romney any in Michigan. If anything, people there are going to view him as a traitor.
Ron Paul opposed those bailouts too, of course. But Paul's opposition to the Detroit bailouts was at least based on consistent principles. Whereas, Mitt Romney has no such consistency; he supported TARP didn't he? (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/10/11/mitt_romne...)
So, there you have Mitt Romney; he's perfectly willing to bail out "troubled assets", but won't do anything to help his own state. Michiganders are going to have a hard time supporting someone like that. FiveThirtyEight seems to back this up; Mitt Romney isn't even at 40% (http://elections.nytimes.com/2012/fivethirtyeight/primaries/...). He's beatable in Michigan in my opinion, if Ron Paul supporters work extra hard to position him as the one true anti-Romney candidate.

I live in the u.p. paul is going to do very well up here - all of our counties combined will only give 1 delegate but that is still 1 delegate...... i have been along with many others cancassing, putting signs up we have signs from green bay to the mackinac bridge....main hwy - anyways - ID LOVE any material i can give away when i stop at peoples houses be it yard signs bumper stickers buttons - i truthfully cant afford to but that is how we started - just door to door even can we put this up and or would you like to learn about dr. paul - - yooperd17@hotmail.com - lets get this done!
