So You Don't Like Dr. Pauls Drug War Stance?

Then you should take a look at how absolutely ass backwards our current policies are because this stuff just never ceases to amaze me....Crazy how any of these reporters can even attempt to spin this into "our governments doing a good thing" by helping the heroin trade...Surely we can find something better for our troops to do be doing other than being a cover for these war mongering politicians and powers to be to continue to get rich..If Dr. Paul was president, Afghanistan would be allowed to do exactly what they're already doing even with us over there, but yet I can guarantee that Heroin use in our country would drop dramatically...Prohibition doesn't work, period.

People Kill People

Drugs don't kill people, people kill people.

On further thought, I wonder why the Founders didn't make opium and hemp illegal - I know they allowed the stuff. What was wrong with them? Where was George Washington's wife Martha saying "Just say NO!" ?

I personally support most traditional forms of morality (back to 1776), but morality is a matter for the people, not a matter of law. Government has no role in morality, and giving it that role fosters immorality, because people end up passing the entire responsibility to government, then end up blaming the government for immorality instead of themselves, which only begs for totalitarianism.

Drug Laws Legitimize Hate

Drug laws merely attempt to legitimize one groups authority to punish another group by taking their liberty and property, and legitimize one groups hate another group; as well as enforcing a narrowed consciousness on people, limited exploration of oneself, and providing unconstitutional powers to the police state.

What Is A Drug?

Can't see the video, but for some trivia: about 20% of white people don't get "high" from narcotics, because of a liver enzyme (something like Cytochrome P450, I am not going to look it up ...) If I take any opioids, I feel like shit, and I hate them. They don't make me feel good in any way at all. I feel like someone that has drank beer over several hours, and isn't drunk, but just feels like shit and without care or energy to do anything. Point being: Peanuts kill people allergic to peanuts, but we don't make peanuts illegal, we warn people that they will die if they are allergic to peanuts and eat them. And opiates do not addict all people, and there is no reason to ban them either, when we can warn people and they have alternative things to enjoy. It just makes people suffer in pain needlessly when they do need them (which seems to be OK if you are a sociopath).

But the more interesting question to me is: WHAT IS A DRUG? Something that alters consciousness? Well, everything alters consciousness. Sleeping is one of the most hallucinatory experiences a person can have, and sometimes people do crazy things when sleep-walking and even kill themselves or others.

Is a drug something that only makes you feel good? Well, many drugs make people feel like shit, and many non-drugs make you feel good. Is a drug something that addicts people? Well, not all drugs addict all people, and many non-drugs are addictive.

So, who is anyone to label something a drug? Everything is medicine; every sunset, every person you meet, every music you play, everything you do, every thing you eat/drink/inhale alters your consciousness. Fresh air is a drug. There is not one experience you can have in this world that doesn't alter your consciousness.

The entire concept of "drugs" demonstrates what a nation of morons we are. It is more honest to say "everything is medicine, and too much of any medicine will kill you, and there are plenty of experiences in life, choose those that are not self-destructive, in moderation and balance."
