"The very ethos of the Mormon faith is built around the anticipated return of Jesus to Independence, Missouri, for his thousand-year millennial reign. It is here that he will assign godhood to the worthy. However, it cannot take place until the U.S. Constitution falters and is saved by the LDS church. The nation will become a Mormon theocracy. Mitt Romney has raised Mormon speculation that this may be the time and that he may be the one to lead the way as both U.S. President and LDS high priest."

I can't vote for someone who

I can't vote for someone who does not believe in free condoms for poor people.

True Liberty allows everyone the Freedom to have their own religious test for office. It is guaranteed by the "no religious test for office clause" in the constitution that restrains our leaders which in turns sets the individual citizens free to choose however the want. You should be more tollerant of other's religious views and posts. Argue the points of discussion if you disagree, but don't go calling people names.

If Mr. Romney held true to his faith there would be two people on stage speaking the truth where there is but one now, Dr. Paul.

Hola, Mitt Romney the Mexican LDS High Priest.

Ridiculously Ignorant Post

You obviously know nothing about the LDS faith.

"Not just a member, but a high priest!" Sounds scary. But it's not. There are hundreds of thousands (maybe millions) of LDS high priests in the world. It is an office in the LDS priesthood (of which all are lay people; there is no paid clergy). That's all. Every male adult member, almost, is either an "elder" or a "high priest."

As for your other comments:

"The very ethos of the Mormon faith is built around the anticipated return of Jesus to Independence, Missouri, for his thousand-year millennial reign."

The very ethos? Wow, sounds important.

"It is here that he will assign godhood to the worthy."

Wrong. You speak of things you know nothing about.

"However, it cannot take place until the U.S. Constitution falters and is saved by the LDS church."

This is speculation only, and not canonical. This is not doctrine. Yet you write as if it is.

"The nation will become a Mormon theocracy."

Wrong. Please stop. I'm embarrassed for you.

"Mitt Romney has raised Mormon speculation that this may be the time and that he may be the one to lead the way as both U.S. President and LDS high priest."

Absolutely wrong. "Lead...as LDS high priest" ??? No Mormon would ever accept this.

Please, DPers, I implore you to attack Romney for his policies (plenty of fodder there) and stay away from his religion, particularly if you don't really know what you're talking about.

Its about waking people up to the truth

You have to understand, that the LDS (Mormon) faith believes that the constitution is inspired of God, just as the founders did. We believe in the Republic. Members are constantly reminded that we are to do all we can to uphold the Constitution and the principals behind it. Ron Paul's platform is more in line with the teachings of our faith than any other platform I've ever seen.

However, IMHO the typical Mormon is no different than the typical American when it comes to politics. Most are asleep/deceived as to what is going on in relation to our freedom and how much the constitution is being ignored and trampled on. As a member that is awake, I do all I can to wake as many people as I can. Of course some American's today will flat out reject Liberty, and embrace socialism, which is a different battle than waking the masses.

Those who work to destroy our republic are very skilled and have been able to get away with it in plain sight. The only way those of us who embrace Liberty can save the republic is to wake enough people up before its too late.

Isn't this one of the primary purposes of the liberty movement? To wake our fellow Americans to the destruction of our republic that is happening right in front of our eyes? If I remember right, Paul often speaks that once we learn about the principals of liberty we have an obligation to share it with our fellow man.

Americans (many who are LDS too) are waking up to this and joining our cause. Going after an entire faith, of which you don't seem to be a part of, and who's teaching and doctrine you don't seem to understand doesn't help the cause of Liberty. May we all be American's joined together in one common cause, the cause of Liberty!!!

Wonderful post

You have a better chance for

You have a better chance for Ron Paul, and at the same time preserving the LDS base if you question, protest, or remind the Mittens LDS followers of Joseph Smith, Ezra Taft Benson, the Golden Rule, or "free agency".
These all apply to the Constitution and their past has always been very adamant on following it as well as protecting it, they have been lost like the rest of our fellow citizens throughout the years due to disinformation. Joseph Smith died as a martyr and would have not happened if the government separated church and state, in fact he died under the guise of martial law protecting the people.

History repeats itself, if not heeded.

I'm happy the mormons want to

I'm happy the mormons want to save the constitution. Too bad they don't all realize Ron Paul is the real constitutionalist and not Romney. In 2008, I voted for Romney in my ignorance. But I was quite impressed with the Ron Paul supporters - and began to wonder why they continued against the odds. Now I know.

so basically

we have THREE lunatic, delusional, bloodthirsty, murderous, theocratic, American Taliban running for POTUS to see who can accelerate the destruction of the American Republic and her Constitution, so each of these delusional American Taliban's version and interpretation of their "God's Return" to rule over the rest of us, in THEIR version of the "Dominion," after they instigate, expedite the Apocalypse/Armageddon?

F' NO!

Let's see them try!

Just WTF is wrong with these walking bags of filth? What lunatic degenerate's womb created these monsters?

Pardon my crassness. But, it just seems to get more and more disgusting, the more and more one finds out about these Statist WallSt/Mil.Ind.Complex-whore scums!

Hell, then again, don't think at the rate this nation is going, along with gauging the voting pattern in the last few months, delegate or no delegate, vote fraud or no fraud, one thing is certain: while this Republic NEEDS the Doc, don't think it DESERVES the Doc!

"Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it's realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy." - Dr. Ronald Ernest Paul

So you got all the education

So you got all the education you need on Mormonism from four anti-Mormon articles. No wonder there is so much confusion and misrepresentation of the religions of the world.
I will agree with you though that this country probably doesn't deserve Ron Paul.

It was a general statement

At no point did I malign Mormonism.

"So you got all the education you need on Mormonism from four anti-Mormon articles." - that's like me saying, 'so you got all the education you need on me from one reply in a thread?'

Yeah, I know right? Silly ain't it.

Works both ways, don't it?

I understand how you may believe this whole thread has degenerated into attacking your faith, at least by gauging all your response below. And, once you begin to see it that way, your initial response is likely to be always defensive. And, per se, there's nothing wrong with that. I always expect someone to get "defensive" especially if they believe in something.

So, while I don't blame you for reacting naturally, I think you already know, that's not what I was doing. I see all your comments below, and you're thinking to yourself, 'hell, another one?'

Not gonna say, 'don't be overly sensitive.' one responds as how one responds for whatever reason at that given moment.

But, is what you think I'm saying, really what I AM saying?

I would say, no.

"Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it's realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy." - Dr. Ronald Ernest Paul

So...

You wouldn't mind if Peggy Nadramia ran for president? You could support that as long as she supported liberty?

If she had the same track

If she had the same track record as Ron Paul I wouldn't mind in the least. Funny thing is people want liberty for themselves but not other people.

Two different issues

First, the thread is about Romney's position in his church and the implications that may have on his service as our representative. It's a legitimate question. I want someone who shares my views representing me. That's why I vote.

Second, someone having the liberty to live their own life on their own terms is significantly different than someone representing me. They have the right to choice, they have no inherent right to represent me government.

I wouldn't vote for anyone

I wouldn't vote for anyone that didn't share my views on liberty and the Constitution. Their religion doesn't come into play for me at all. I would never vote for Romney, Santorum, or Gingrich, and it has nothing to do with their religion.

Why bring this anti-Mormon

Why bring this anti-Mormon crap here? Sure he's a high priest. So is my dad, who is an ardent and life long fighter for liberty. By the way nearly every older man in my church is a high priest. It always amazes me when supposed lovers of liberty want to fight others for having their own liberty to do what they want. Heck I don't care if someone worships a tree frog. None of my concern.

If it's factual, it isn't

If it's factual, it isn't anti anything. It is simple information.

RON PAUL 2012 * Restore America * Bring The Troops Home
http://www.texasuncensored.blogspot.com

First of all, why would it be "anti_mormon" then?

Second of all, who would your father have more loyalty to the Constitution or his faith?

This would be an issue and one worth looking at if you are considering voting for Mitt Romney.

Who would Ron Paul have more loyalty to:

the Constitution or his faith?

I took a look at the sites

I took a look at the sites listed and found serious misrepresentations in them as do most anti-anything sites or literature. On your second question about loyalty to the Constitution. We believe that the Constitution is scripture.
"May those principles, which were so honorably and nobly defended, namely, the Constitution of our land, by our fathers, be established forever" (D&C 109:54).

really

you think the mormonconspiracy.com is not anti-mormon?

or your final link mormons and satanisum?

What I am stating is the fact that Romney is a "high priest"

would be something to take a look at. I think it is something to consider when deciding to vote for him. Do I think that he has more issues than just being a "high priest"? Yes, absolutely, like the fact that his number one contributor is the same as Obamas, the fact that his people met with Obama on more than a dozen occasions to create ObamaCare, the fact that 90% of his campaign donations come from Corporate Elite and they are ruining this country on many levels.

However, I think this is an issue worth delving into, would he have more loyalty to his faith and helping the Mormon church than he would have to the American people and the Constitution? That is a question worth some evaluation.

By the way, I did not post this, I was merely inquiring, researching the subject.

well

I have to wonder if Dr Paul has more loyalty to his faith then to the american people or the constitution? would he make an un-biblical law because the people wanted to and the constitution allowed it?

and just for the record I don't think there are any Mormons who want to create a theocracy or maybe I messed that meeting.

I believe that prophecy is is more like the constitution will falter and the young men will try to restore it ... any lets pray they succeed.
