Maine Elections Chief Uses GOP List To Intimidate Student Voters
Submitted by Peggy R on Sun, 02/12/2012 - 10:18The latest voter suppression tactic employed by Republicans can be found in Maine, where last week the Secretary of State sent a threatening letter to hundreds of college students who were legally registered to vote in Maine, floating the possibility of election law violation and encouraging them to re-register elsewhere.
The letter explained that Maine Secretary of State Charles Summers was writing because he “was presented with a list of 206 University of Maine students with out-of-state home addresses and asked to investigate allegations of election law violations.” That list was provided to him not by an uninterested citizen, but rather the Maine Republican Party Chairman Charlie Webster, who has accused these students of voter fraud.

Students voting
Students may not vote in a state where they go to school if they are registered to vote in their home states. That is where they are supposed to vote unless they have taken up legal residence in their school state.
This is a bone of contention in NH where they come here and vote more than once.
If they cannot get back to their home states to vote they need to apply for an absentee ballot.
Sounds a bit confusing
but thank you for clarifying it a bit. I am willing to bet that if the GOP thought these students were for Romney, they would have just looked the other way.
I'd say it's becoming abundantly clear
that Charlie Webster is the criminal ringleader of this activity in Maine.
I'm thinking maybe a RICO indictment for fraud and racketeering might be in order.
Then, once the pressure is on, the beans might get spilled on the national RNC people who are behind it all.
The establishment won't take out one of their own
Find a prosecutor to even impanel a grand jury for this crap? You won't find any. They are closing ranks, the fraud is not even being hidden. Not a peep from the media. It is collusion on a grand scale. Stunning.
