How we win in the end, Stay Republican.
Submitted by snakepit22 on Sun, 02/12/2012 - 19:55You've already swallowed your pride and registered Republican to vote for Ron Paul. I've become a prencinct committeman. Many have become precinct captains, and many have become Republican delegates for Ron Paul.
Although the temptation is to go back to being Independent or Democrat, or whatever it is you were, remaining Republican may very well be the most important thing we can all do.
The numbers don't lie. It is obvious that more people are joining the liberty movement than the neocon movement. And from the turnout in the first few primaries, it's obvious that the Republican party is a very small percentage of the population, which makes it all the more discouraging to see how much power they have.
With our numbers growing rapidly, and their numbers shrinking, we can take the party back in the name of liberty. So we must continue the movement we have already started which is to infiltrate the Republican Party. We have so many R3VOLUTIONARIES in the party already this year due to Ron Paul, it is only a matter of time before more and more high ranking positions are filled with true Constitutionalists and the Republican party of George Bush becomes the Republican party of Ron Paul.
Free thinking people will have no issue voting outside the Republican party when it is right, but we have already started making so many strides to get the movement into the mainstream, it would be a shame if hundreds of thousands, possibly millions of Ron Paul Republicans simply abandon that progress after they vote in the primary. The last thing we want is a Republican party who's numbers are less than our own, but which still has more influence than we do.
Change needs to come from within the party. We already defeated the establishment this year. There is no way any Republican besides Ron will win in the general election, but now is not the time to take our victory and go home. Now is the time to complete the takeover we have started. No matter what happens in November, by 2016, we could control the Republican party and shape it how we want it to be. Then, when free thinking, liberty minded revolutionaries help return our country to its Constitutional roots, those very same folks who helped save America from big government, can help save America from the two party system.
Now is not the time to abandon the party in protest, now is the time to take over the party. We have the numbers. We have the knowledge. Regardless of whether Ron gets the nomination and runs as a Republican, or goes third party, or doesn't run at all (and I write him in), the Republican party is our path, and we have already gone too far down that path not to complete the task.
Being Republican doesn't have to shape our thinking. Our thinking can shape what it means to be Republican.
Thanks again for your time DailyPaul,
Here is a little something to throw at your neocon buddies when they bring up the foreign policy issue, and just another way we will reshape the Republican platform when we take over.

Actually, even if Paul won
Actually, even if Paul won every state left, he still would not win in the traditional sense due to the proportional setup. This race WILL be won by the candidate that gets the most delegates to the National Convention! That's all there is to it! Focus on being at least a county delegate AND sending as many Paul supporters to the state level, it's NOT that hard! The ONLY thing each one of us should be worried about right now is being a delegate to our county convention, that's it!
If YOU do not have a map, right now, in front of you plotting YOUR path to being, at least, a county delegate, YOU are letting us down, you are letting Ron Paul down, and you are letting all of Americas future generations down! If YOU do not know how to be a delegate, that's your job, FIND OUT AND DO IT! Nothing else, in the political world, matters!
Not the time to get discouraged.
We are planting ourselves for the party take over. NOt time to leave in protest.
I was thinking SAME, last night.
While the GOP seems truly bent on killing themselves, this year in particular, I am thinking, it is time the GOP changed- BACK to what they were when I was a kid.
Back in the sixties, the Republican party WAS the party of SMALL Government, Fewer Wars, less SPENDING, and then things changed (under Reagan, which was-- funny enough-- the time that Ron Paul left THEM, too).
So, if Ron Paul realised that taking over the party from WITHIN and using the Grande Olde Party as his VEHICLE, who are we to say it cannot be done?
Just don't give up and don't GIVE IN, either!

Major Bump
I have said for months in several posts that we are in the waning days of Neoconservativism. They are having temper tantrums left and right. They are unified in their hatred for Romney and Ron Paul but they hate both for different reasons. They correctly identify Romney as a liberal, but they do not have the guts to say it due to Bain Capital holdings in such avenues like Clear Channel. Thus, Rush Limbaugh and the gang will run defense for both the neocons and Romney leaving Paul to be the only one to be disparaged as a 'liberal' and a 'democrat' and a 'socialist'.
Second they hate Ron Paul's true conservative message. They hate the Constitution. They would rather tear it up so they could kill Muslims. All the idiot talk radio neocons (which I was one) would rather bow to the NWO than receive Liberty. We are winning IN the Republican Party. They are having temper tantrums for a reason. As they infiltrated the Tea Parties, we infiltrated the Republican apparatus. NOW, the head of the Iowa GOP is NOW one of us after the old one had to resign in disgrace due to the voter fraud committed in Iowa.
I wanted to say this on the LET US TAKE OUR BALL AND LEAVE IT UNREGISTER BOMB, but that is just playing into their temper tantrum with our own.

Isn't that just KOOKY??
They DO hate Ron Paul's message, yet they still try to co-opt that term, Conservative; something they SEEM to know nothing of, being conservative.
It is why the new-term for these folk is, NEOCON. I prefer to think of them as con-artists, and don't see anything new about it, other than to the party of LIBERTY.
We don't have to JOIN them; we only have to CHANGE them!

Here is the flaw
Politics IS power brokering. Good people HAVE to compromise once the get into politics, and once you step on the slippery slope, VERY few will stand.
I was the ONE working the vote-tracker in this state for a while. Eventually I got helpers, but the first thousand or so was all me. I found good but apathetic people and rallied them, they did all the things you describe. Many of us burnt out, faded away, went back into hiding after having a closer look at the process and it was based on knowledge, not fear. Those that stayed became what we fought to replace. The people who stayed in politics are still good people, but they are now friends with the establishment goons and far too comfortable "compromising" with them.
The 2 party paradigm must end. Propping up either party is being part of the problem. I am willing to try one more time, but if people on the DP cannot smell "vote fraud" when their nose is rubbed in it, I have little hope that the average American will catch on, so I expect no major increase in personal liberty in the foreseeable future.
Whatever else I said a minute ago, the last word I want to get in is
LOVE!
Absolutely
It worked for the Neocons.
They knew what they were doing and they succeeded.
They did not have the numbers, so they had to do it by deceit.
We are millions we can do it the way it's supposed to be done.
Ron Paul has been doing this for 40 years.
We have made great strides. We just need to keep going and success will be guaranteed (but certainly not easy).
Get involved in the GOP at the local level and fight to the end.

I love how we are finally waking up!
Ron Paul has done more than his fair share to pave the way for US.
If he wins the election, it will make the task a LOT easier.
If he doesn't, it will be up to us to take over the GOP and finally bring it back to its root principles that will appeal to the majority of Americans.
Time to weed out the infiltrators also known as Neocons.
They managed to take control of the Party and pollute it with their BS (as we can see in Maine).
Time to make the party very unwelcoming to them by imposing OUR rules.
County by county, State by State, and finally at the Federal Level!
Why not
take over the Republican Party AND the Democratic Party? Then disband them both and pass a Constitutional Amendment to ban political parties altogether.
I do agree that to take over the Republican Party is a good idea, maybe the only idea now that so much progress has been made. The neo-conservative core is tiny and most of the present membership can be awakened to liberty in time.
"Where the Welfare State is on the march the Police State is not far behind."

Because that would be unconstitutional.
A political party is nothing more than a group of folks who peacefully assembled to practice their 1st ammendment rights of speaking about particular candidates. Sometimes political parties do illegal things, and they should be punished for that, but the fact that they are a group and want to support people by getting in a group should not be infringed upoon.
I love the idea of taking them over just to disband them, but it must be done by the free will of the people. If you ban political parties on a constitutional level, the current government would be arresting Ron Paul supporters by the thousands for gathering together to support Ron. It would be the surest rout to fascism.
Amending the Constitution
is not UNConstitutional. Assembling is not the same as incorporating. Supporting individuals for office as you picture is exactly what would happen if there were no political parties.

VERY good point!
Let's finish with the GOP. Let's take over the key locations throughout different states then fix this party!
I've been thinking the
same thing. Somebody has to clean up this mess. In this case it's better to clean and renovate than burn it down.
As betrayed as we are feeling
As betrayed as we are feeling right now - and it could get even worse - I think the OP is correct. The Republican party is our best chance to gain prominence and power in national politics. And we have made significant gains in the past 4 years.
Leaving would hurt the Republicans, but it would hurt our cause even more, as there are insurmountable legal obstacles - erected by the two parties - to getting equal access for a third party.
I'm not saying we have to vote for the nominee if it's not Ron, but we should not abandon our efforts to gain influence inside the party.
When Rand Paul said at CPAC that the Republican party is an empty vessel, he was talking to us. We need to stay at this, even after this presidential campaign is over. If we keep gaining traction in local and state GOP organizations, the tipping point will come.
“Wasting a vote is sometimes voting for somebody that you don't really believe in."
-Ron Paul
A national party is unconstitutional
by definition.
It can only do harm. And chances are great that it would become a third party or controlled like the Libertarian Party.
But I would agree with you that we should take over the GOP...and then disband it. Ideally, no party should be larger than a state legislator's district.
Explain economics and the GOP faithful will follow
I have had far better results beginning a discussion with a simple step by step lesson on economics whether it's how inflation or debt based money works to get a person seeing things a new light than by the traditional Liberty talking points.
"War is Racket" is an offensive claim until you can actually prove how this is true through econ101.
This in my opinion is how we win QUICKLY.

I think most Republicans...
..will conceid that Ron is right on economics but they make the foreign policy thing such a big deal that they are willing to tank the economy to protect their ideas.
ask them this...
is there a domestic dollar and a foreign dollar?
you have to break things down for the simpletons sometimes...
"Concede" and "Understand" are two different things
They tell you they like his economics because that's what they hear the pundits say, but since the economics PROVE the foreign policy they clearly don't understand his economics.
Seriously, ask someone when they give you that line to explain to you how debt based money actually works and they're clueless, then offer to show them with sugar packs or whatever you've got lying around.
Do this and notice them understanding but still disbelieving. I tend to follow up by asking them a question: "Given how fundamental debt based money is to our current situation why in the heck have you not been told how this works until now?"
The goal is trigger independent thought so they actually start questioning their prized pundits. From there they'll either connect the foreign policy dots or be much more receptive for you to do that for them.

Well said
I completely agree
WE ARE GOING TO WIN!
Is that an elephant?
It took me forever to figure out what that picture was.
Yes. Umm you don't like it?
I asked the moderators if it was possible to have a little GOP elephant next to my name indicating I was a registered Republican, and jon asked me, "Why not just put an elephant in my signature?" and offered me four or five choices, and this one seemed to be the clearest elephant. So I picked this one. I think it would be great if DP had little GOP elephants for those of us who joined the GOP and go to RCC meetings to become delegates. It's hard work and why not a little elephant to let folks know that we are Republicans, not third party or Indy???
WE ARE GOING TO WIN!
Ya, I like it....
...just the first few times I saw it, I wasn't really paying attention, and at first glance (maybe because my sick twisted mind) I just figured it was...well, you know.
haha me too!

( which are nothing more than planted "talking points" supplied by globalist minions ).
Game on, GOP.
