Let's Win Washington County: Calling ALL New England Supporters

We have 1 week and 1 precinct to focus a collected effort to get Ron Paul the 194+ votes needed to officially win the Maine Straw Vote.

http://freeindependentsun.com/republic/maine-is-not-over-was...

I'm in Boston and am very dedicated to making this happen. However, it is a 300 mile drive to Washington Academy from Boston, and I'm going to have to talk someone with a car into driving up there. I'm trying to kick start efforts to organize car pools, etc.

ANY funds will be very helpful. I'll need gas money (going to be at least $60 round trip, if not more). I typically donate half my chip-in contributions to Ron Paul efforts, since this in a Ron Paul effort, I will be putting that towards gas for my car, and if I have extra, gas for other supporters that drive up there. Also if I really get some funds I'll buy some lunch for folks. Basically, anything you can contribute will be used and will HELP.

I'll update the article at the top of this post with relevant information as the week progresses. We kicked rear on Saturday, now we are going into over-time/extra-innings. Let's WIN this thing.

The Dropkick Murphy's Law...

...so, I couldn't rent a car because I'm out of state and don't have a credit car. It ended up that no one in Boston could drive up to Maine.

That was three attempts to offer myself to efforts in Maine and nothing came together. I put a lot of work into organizing this this week. In the end, all I needed was a car...

So, I have some money (about $300) that a few of you generously donated. What should I do with it?

1. Keep it to use over the next 2 months of continued Ron Pauling (making my life A LOT easier)? Keep in mind, I've spent about $4000 of my own money the last 5 months hitting early Primary States, etc.

2. Donate it to the Campaign, RevPAC and/or Super Brochures?

3. Half-and-half?

You are such a relentless liberty fighter, JAK...

...I vote "1" but with the additional provision that you do ANYTHING you want with the funds. Pretty confident everyone who contributed trusts that you will do "right things" with every penny....

Had to rent a car, got asked to hit Hancock County

Okay I hope everyone going to Washington County has that covered! I just got asked by organizers to take my team to Hancock County and man a couple Caucuses out there.

I ended up having to rent a car ($90) because our ride dropped out. I've been on the phone and emailing all day trying to lock this down.

Thanks for everyone who contributed Money, it'll help a lot (can always use more for those with holes in their pockets).

We need more people making phone calls, follow the links in the previous comment (I'm spending all my time meeting people, organizing canvasing, etc.). If you can't get out of your house, help with phone calls.

Get past your insecurities and go door-to-door. I seriously will *sigh* next time someone calls me asking about any upcoming Sign Waves then declines when I tell them I'm going canvasing/tabling instead.

Get over the sign waves. Get out and talk to people!!!! Face-to-face!

Listen to what he is saying...

Thanks everybody for the contributions!

I got a lot of generous contributions, looks like I should have gas covered for sure, might even be able to cover food and a motel room. I understand everyone will want to give to the Money Bomb today (I dropped $5), keep it up! We are rocking!

the Neocons will vote too,

the Neocons will vote too, don't count on only needing around 200 votes.

I'm in NJ

May backfire on the Maine GOP people.

By announcing that they're not even going to count the last precinct is just incredibly stupid. This should ignite a real fire under the residents of Maine, and should raise the eyebrows of scrutiny with some media (maybe not many). To say you called a vote with a margin of less than 200, with 17% outstanding is asking for backlash. I sure hope they get it!

i AM WANTING TO CALL execpt nobody at the campaign

seems to want to contact me back for me to do it.

I sent them an email about 2 weeks ago asking to be involved in calling. Time is money; in this case time is votes.

Don't they want me to call? If so, how can I get to call if nobody contacts me/us? I am sure I am not the only one sitting here doing nothing when I could be helping.

Check out that site, it is the unofficial phonebanking system.

http://rp2012.org

One thing we've heard however, is both official and unofficial phone calls were starting to bug voters.

If you are in Nor Cal (my home area!) get a hold of the San Francisco for Ron Paul group on meetup and contact Jun Dam, he'll be able to help you figure out how to help.

Something I've done in the past too is to look up groups in the area, like anti-war, etc. and contact them about the caucus. Calling a group leader can then turn into them calling their group.

Also, go onto your social networks and track down any and everyone you know (or know someone who knows) that is in Maine/Washington County.

Meet-up is a great place to find relative groups (young republicans, anti-drug war, etc.).

Also if you can spar $5 we can use the gas money (have $90 raised so far, with $100 pledged for a couple weeks from now to compensate any out of pocket expenses I incur).

This is very helpful.

Thank you.

Get us contacts at the Colleges 3 that I am aware of Unobskey college ,University of Maine at Machias and Washington county community college. We can use property appraisers office to get a call in and a mail out program going. A crime has not been committed yet. I believe the votes will be counted but that the Party has set up dummy precincts. The others that show zeros to put in ringers. We must Id those and target areas around those precincts to do mail outs and calls. If you can get us contacts to send cases of brochures its a start. Dan

If voting could really change things,
it would be illegal. Here is hoping for change!

Good call

I'll look into that. Just getting my morning started. Need to pack up and change locations (CouchSurfing), which includes an hour walk (like I said, funds are short, even for a $2 bus/train ride) with about 60 Pounds on my back. I should have a couple hours before that to get some work done on this effort. If anyone else has the fire to seek out contacts at the colleges/schools post them in the thread! This is a team effort of course :) Go Team Paul!

Found a Driver with a Mini-Van (seats 6) - Buy Us A Gallon!

I'm going to work on filling the seats, need helping filling the tank!

If I somehow end up with more chip-ins than I needed for gas back and forth, I'll make sure to help out other activists that make it out, maybe buy our driver lunch, and drop the rest on the campaign, superPAC or Super Brochure mailings. Even if the funds stay with me, you can be rest assured it is all going to the cause (5 months in, 2 to go, and California waiting for me back home).

16 MPG

The Van gets 16 MPG, we have a 622 Mile round trip...

About 40 gallons X (how much is gas?) $3.50?

About $140. That is for gas.

We might head up the night before, and it'll probably be too cold to crash in the Van, so a motel room (or two depending on if I fill the seats, and if the motel is strict), could be another $100.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I am in for $100 but I won't be able to give it out

for about two weeks when I get paid Jaktober. Will that be too late to reimburse you, or do you not have the available cash right now. I have to pay down my credit cards to make some funds available to send you or buy a prepaid card to hit your chip in. If you spend the $100 getting there, I will cover it in two weeks, you have my word. I am maxed on the only two cards I will use, my two Chase cards are not maxed but they hit me with the 29.99% and I canceled the accounts because they stuck it up my ass after they did not send me a bill, we know how that story goes. Check my post history, you will see that I will get you your $100. Rock on patriot!!!!

Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must. like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.-Thomas Paine

The R3volution requires action, not observation!!!!

I'll check my account...

I can probably front most of that. I have about $200-$300 to my name right now though, and that is food and phone bills for the next two months (I return to Cali mid-April when I'll be able to start working). My ad revenue from my site is Silver and Copper that is sent back home (so I have food/rent when I return), so even that isn't liquid right now.

I'll do what I can knowing you got my back! Anything you can give will go to the cause though, I'll be in Philly helping register voters next month, back in Cali winning my home state in April, and have already been on the road 5 months promoting the Good Doctor.

Don't break the bank, but any help will be appreciated even two-weeks from now. Just the fact you are willing to drop that is a boost in-of-itself. This movement is amazing (related story: I was sign waving with my friend Doug in Florida on the election day there outside of a precinct and some guy stopped, got out, and gave us a $10 and $5 bill with a Ron Paul stamp on it. Gotta love the LOVE!)

Hey you can count me in for $20...

Let's get this done!

I litle tripp goes a long ways.

I wish I lived close to Maine.

That's what I'm hoping

Feel free to kick a few bucks to help out :)

God I wish we were having as

God I wish we were having as much fun in CA as you all get to have in Maine! Get out there and WIN this for Dr Paul!

I'll be back in Cali mid-April

2 months before the election, 1 month before Registration Deadline.

It's never too soon to start, contact me on the Ron Paul Social Network and I'll help you figure out who to start working with and what to do (spoiler: stand outside of super markets with a clip-board, voter registration forms and Super Brochures or go door-to-door with the same, every Saturday from 11am-2pm. Or whenever you have time - save door-to-door for the time mentioned, feel free to stand at busy places anytime you can).
