When it doesn't work, do more of the same?

This forum post was born when 2,8% of the having the right to vote people in Colorado gave a win to probably the weakest version of the white republican obama. How did it happen that we allow this tiny fraction of hardly inspired people to decide the fate of the presidency?

Let me first lay forward a few definitions: The people that have gone to the polls so far and cast their vote I call active voters. These people decide the primaries and they represent a tiny % of the possible voters. In my estimate they are between 1%-45% and we get about 15% of this vote. Note that this is relatively fair, considering these people use MSM to get information, so our % represents the coverage of RP. The road to this fraction of the population is through the MSM, which means it will come down to money. Somehow this doesn't seem the right path.

/A brief mention of the MSM. Now many of us are very pissed at them, but don't forget they are simply acting in their best interest. They collect money from advertisers, and then return favors in PR. Even Ron Paul campaign pays for interviews, and you can tell rather easily which ones are paid for/.

The people that do not take part in these primaries I call hidden voters. Some of them are obviously these people that are lazy active voters, who cannot be swayed, but I believe the majority of people are indeed not satisfied by the candidates (which, unfortunately includes our candidate).
I split hidden voters in 2 - people which are not buying what the corporate media is selling (maybe will buy in the general election) and people who simply do not trust MSM for information and haven't gotten around to the message yet through the alternative channels.

So we come to the main point of this post. It is very hard and expensive to go through the MSM channels for the active voters. We must target the "non MSM watching" hidden voters. They are the "new" people. How do we do it of course is a different matter. Since we rule the Internet, the new people are not online. Please post here suggestions that could be sent to the campaign. I believe we need a game changer. I don't believe the current strategy can give us enough momentum to win big in the winner take all big state primaries.

Here is my modest proposal. It uses a bit of psychology and gaming theory. Focus strong on a single state where we could win really big, but focus on hidden voters. Do not approach them with TV adds, cold calling and rallies. I believe the organization must win those minds. We cannot count only on Ron Paul showing up on TV and in meetings. One individual has physical limitations to the number of people he can reach in person. The local organization must come up with the answer.

Kansas is a small state holding caucus on March 10. Huckaby took it in 2008 with 11,000 votes! RP was third with 2700 or 11%. There are 750 000 registered republicans and 460 000 democrats in the state. Motivating only 5% of these people will give Ron Paul a landslide victory. Strategy is evaluated and adjusted. We must target at least 3 times the total number of primary voters compared to the 2008 election. Then we move on. The experiment could run in several states, since Ron Paul does not have to be present everywhere.
Next step will be the large winner take all states. Just 2 of those and Ron Paul will lead. After all, it is all about changing minds and hearts, not cheating the election process through the delegate system.

My thoughts in conclusion, we need new people to start voting because they believe in something. If we somehow manage to bribe our way to the active voters through the media to squeeze a win, it will not be enough. Remember that in order to execute his plan, Ron Paul must bulldozer through the Congress. To be able to do that, he needs big mandate from the people. (I am talking general election now). When I see dissatisfied people and low turnouts, I see an opening. Let's take it! Please again post ideas how this campaign should adjust (without adjusting the essence of the message, of course).

Small teams accountable for showing up

I think there are more people out there that already agree with Ron Paul than actively participate in the efforts to get him elected. This is what I am looking to try:

So far drewden123 has stepped up to help. Could use more people involved - such as a graphic designer to do a mockup to use with a chip in so i can hire freelance developers.

Why does everyone think the Daily Paul is a Pentagon think-tank?

This is a shoe-string Jihad.

If you aren't doing it, then it isn't happening.

Good point. To clarify....

If YOU aren't doing it then it isn't happening.

You means YOU, dear reader, not "we", not me, not the poster, but YOU.

Don't get on DP and post about what WE need.

"We need" means YOU WANT but aren't already doing, because if you were you'd post differently and say "please join me."

So, "we need" posts or replies are 100% UTTERLY WORTHLESS and DEVOID of any merit.

Because either you're doing it or you're asking me to do it or it AINT HAPPENING AT ALL.

Them's just the facts!

Good post

I think the answer to your question is US.

We all need to do what we have been doing. Convince the people we know. It is that simple.

It may take some time, but we are making incredible progress already and it should get easier and easier as more people wake up.

So my humble strategy suggestion would be. Stop writing about strategy and go convert one more person instead (in any way you feel like doing it).

If we all do this as much of our time as possible and continue to do so - we are guaranteed success.
