Santorum downplayed the CPAC: Ron Paul had won it in the past by paying for participants’ tickets.

CPAC Straw Poll

Romney won the non-binding Maine caucuses and a straw poll of attendees at the CPAC, an organization comprised of activists who oppose government spending, abortion rights and gay marriage. With the straw poll victory, Romney bested Santorum, who has a history of working against abortion rights, on what could have been friendly territory for the former Pennsylvania senator.

Santorum downplayed the CPAC straw poll’s importance, saying Republican candidate Ron Paul, a congressman from Texas, had won it in the past by paying for participants’ tickets. He declined to say whether the Romney campaign had rigged this year’s contest when asked yesterday on CNN’s “State of the Union” program.

“You have to talk to the Romney campaign and how many tickets they bought,” he said. “We’ve heard all sorts of things.”

Santorum has “a history of making statements that aren’t grounded in the truth,” Andrea Saul, a spokeswoman for Romney, said in an e-mail. “Mitt Romney won the CPAC straw poll and won a separate nationwide survey of conservatives conducted by CPAC organizers. Also, Mitt Romney won the Maine caucuses.”

Once again Santorum whinges about losing.

This is a disgusting accusation and unless he has proof, he should probably stop talking.

Yea

First year they use electronic voting machines and the establishment candidates are a factor! This year, the American Conservative Union and CPAC are moving from paper ballots to electronic voting that will be accessible from a computer or a handheld device, said Al Cardenas, the conservative union's current president. He told The Huffington Post that he hopes this will increase the number of attendees who participate in the straw poll. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/02/09/cpac-ron-paul-_n_12...

If voting could really change things,
it would be illegal. Here is hoping for change!
