The Maine Reason Ron Paul Will Still Win

COMMENTARY | There are three paramount keys to Ron Paul's pending success in becoming the Republican presidential nominee, even though the media will say Mitt Romney is still the front-runner. One contest to watch on March 6 is Virginia, where Romney and Paul go head-to-head since they are the only ones on the ballot.

Electability

Winning a contest is the best way to prove you can win. There are no substitutes. A win can boost his support, gaining voters and donors who never knew he existed a week ago. Despite the media's preemption in proclaiming a winner in Maine, it seems likely Paul will receive the most votes once they have all been counted -- remember, Romney won Iowa once upon a time if followed the media fairytale in January.

Recent polls have shown Paul can beat Barack Obama if he becomes the nominee, and few doubt he would be the best candidate to draw in independent and disgruntled Democratic voters in a general election. Obama won the presidency in 2008 by having that same advantage over John McCain.

Having a Good Plan

Another key point for Paul is that he has the best plan for restoring America.
