Indy Film about Gingrich in Space: "Iron Sky," a Spoof about Nazi MoonBase, a Hit... w/Germans!

A Lesson in FreeMarket Econ: just be glad that the following wasn't a German film made by Director Uwe Boll (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uwe_Boll#Criticism) who could've only made such HORRIBLE video game-to-film adaptations, precisely because it was almost 100% subsidized by German Taxpayers, in a short lived govt subsidy scheme to sponsor up and coming film makers.

Gee, 'art' funded and anointed by German Govt, with their history, what can possibly go wrong with that?

Though I've read that the specific German Govt program that funded the likes of Boll's projects was cancelled, but apparently some form of it still exists.

Sadly, the new German film subsidy has gone to a Finnish director Timo Vuorensola, the maker of an amazingly well composed Trekkie fan film "Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning."

But hey, the Berliners are laughing up his film spoofing the Nazis. Yes, the Germans laughing up Nazis: their choice, their humor, their 'money,' even though it may have gone to a Finn.

It does seem hilarious. Plus, a fodder for Grinch jokes. Thanks Bundesrat!

Film Festival Shocker

Movie About Nazis in Space Gets Laughs in Berlin

It's 2018, and an American space mission discovers that there's a huge colony of Nazis on the dark side of the moon, living in a swastika-shaped castle and bent on invading Earth. The comedy 'Iron Sky' has proved a surprise hit at the Berlin Film Festival. Part of the funding comes from German taxpayers.

A science fiction comedy about a secret Nazi space colony that has taken over the dark side of the moon has become one of the hottest tickets at the Berlin Film Festival.

In the film, "Iron Sky," American astronaut James Washington (played by Christopher Kirby) parks his Lunar Lander too close to the Nazi base. This prompts Moon Führer (Udo Kier) to decide that it's time to conquer Earth.

The Führer and his band of Nazis formed a colony on the Moon following the Nazi defeat in 1945. They've been waiting for the right time to invade Earth and establish the Fourth Reich...

Hollywood spits out this kind of campy crap whenever Israel is poised to go on the attack. History Channel is due for another Hitler Week also.
