How To Double Your Money Bomb Donation (NO COST)
Submitted by EdSchill on Tue, 02/14/2012 - 12:36Instead of simply donating the standard hundred all at once like I always do, today I decided to go the extra mile.
I made it my PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY to convince 4 additional people to donate $25(which I have completed). I encouraged 2 co-workers/friends and 2 fb friends to donate $25 which I then matched. (I kept the donation at a manageable amount)
It seems it is much more likely to get people to donate if you are willing to put your money where your mouth is. Promoting the Money Bomb is HUGE, but there is something about standing behind your request that resonates with people.
If you are especially persistent, you may be able to get people to donate just to shut you up.
Never underestimate your power of persuasion!!!!
(I strongly encourage you to have friends and relatives donate using their own cards and info vs allowing them to front you the cash. It prevents you from maxing out prematurely as well as it allows the campaign to add them to the mailing list )
Please BUMP and PLEASE TAKE UP THE CAUSE.
(of course if you can only afford to donate $25, you can still encourage someone else to donate by matching and turning said $25 into $50)

Ask 5 people you trust
I sent an email asking 5 friends to donate to the last moneybomb. And I didi it again for this money bomb.
Two donated (one was 250 one was 50 for $300 total).
I simply said:
The campaign asked me to reach out to 5 people and encourage them to donate. I said it was very hard to ask, and it made me feel scared that they would be annoyed, angry, or judge me.
I added that I picked them casue i trust them to understand i am only asking them to consider donating. And 2 of 5 did.
Worked for me and got us $300. Which matters i think.

I don't think people realize how easy it is to solicit donations from friends and family. Shame on them if they do but are not putting in the minimal effort to maximize the money bomb.

I would just be careful not
I would just be careful not to annoy people and have it backfire. I know if some of my Obama friends asked me adamantly to donate to Obama I would be pissed as hell.
But I do encourage this for people on the fence about actually donating, and especially for Paul supporters who are first time donors. Like me today. haha.
Bring people with you. Get people to go who normally wouldn't. Multiply your vote!
LOL, that happened to me.
A good friend DID ask me to contribute to Obama. At that point, I said, "How much does Obama already have for this election?" and we compared totals.
And I said, "Now, Obama has his fair share. How about you give Paul some love?"
My friend laughed, but then she said, "OK. Fair is fair."

it is simple
no need to proselytize friends, just ask for the donation. Don't talk about the gold standard, just ask for their help. For Example.

Think about how relieved she will be when you ask her for a $25 donation, not a $25,000 loan for a sex change op.

I'm kinda worried, though. This moneybomb's been going on for a while, and there's only about 500,000 pledged and only about 300,000 actually given. Is everyone going to wait until the last minute to donate?

These money bombs seem to have a pattern. It seems to begin with an initial bump in the morning, then a lull for the afternoon (while people are at work) and then a good spike again later into the evening.

I think we can make this historic if we all get in the game and start asking for the donations. I know it sounds hard, but trust me, in most cases all you have to do is ask. Call in a favor, get someone who owes you to pay you back in the form of a donation. Call a parent of relative, we all know a person or two or four :)

everyone I know could care less.. they all talk about being sick of big govt, but they refuse to vote for anyone who isn't willing to give us a big govt police state to keep us safe. I'm standing all alone here.

I try to avoid the subject all together. People trust me, just like they trust you. They will do it because you ask, because it is important to you. In fact the more apathetic the better. I don't spend any time on the jaded bunch, they are a waste of time and positive energy.

I can't even get my dad to switch his party for the primary to vote for Ron Paul.. he knows this is important to me, and he even agrees with Ron Paul on a lot of things.

that is my point. Forget proselytizing, just get people to donate. Getting someone to donate $25 bucks is infinitely easier than asking them to disregard years of indoctrination.
