Dave Mustaine Is Hoping To See Rick Santorum In White House

"I'm just hoping that whatever is in the White House next year is a Republican," Mustaine replied. "I can't bear to watch what's happened to our great country. Everybody's got their head in the sand. Everybody in the industry is like, 'Oh, Obama's doing such a great job...' I don't think so. Not from what I see.
"Looking at the Republican candidates, I've got to tell you, I was floored the other day to see that Mitt Romney's five boys have a $100 million trust fund. Where does a guy make that much money? So there's some questions there. And watching Newt Gingrich, I was pretty excited for a while, but now he's just gone back to being that person that everybody said he was — that angry little man. I still like him, but I don't think I'd vote for him.
"Ron Paul… you know, I heard somebody say he was like insecticide — 98 percent of it's inert gases, but it's the two percent that's left that will kill you. What that means is that he'll make total sense for a while, and then he'll say something so way out that it negates everything else. I like the guy because he knows how to excite the youth of America and fill them in on some things. But when he says that we're like the Taliban… I'm sorry, Congressman Paul, but I'm nothing like the Taliban.

Soon Santorum will be just as much of a has been as Mustaine.
That's sad....
If you listen to the lyrics in his songs - he talks about unjust wars and what not. He seems in line with Paul lyrically in a lot of his work. So it is kind of odd. Then again he has done his share of drugs, was into satanism (which is what he confessed) and probably isn't as well read as most RP supporters.

Best advice...
...is to praise musicians and actors when they are right, and just ignore it when they are wrong. If I ditched all my favorite bands just because they had different political beliefs, I'd miss out on a lot off good music. If ya'll look in your music collections, I'll bet 90% of of the artists you listen to support Obama.
Dave Mustaine isn't some high ranking political operative, he's just a metalhead. One minute he sounds like a genius singing about the evils of the United AbomiNations, and sounding like Bob Dylan with "Peace Sells, but who's Buying?", and the next minute he is singing about numerous different ways to kill people. In that aspect, he certainly achieved his goal of being just like Metallica, who sings about the evils of war in "One", but has an entire album entitled "Kill 'em All".
Folks, they are just metal musicians, not profits, and certainly not anyone to take political advice from, nor be dissapointed in when they don't subscribe to the libertarian mindset.

He said something in the interview about Ron Paul comparing him to the taliban. Was he referring to something in particular? What am I missing here?

Many of you know that Fox constantly says that Ron Paul believes americans caused 9/11. This is what is keeping him from supporting us. Send him debate questions or interviews exposing the truth on Ron and Rick. He will come our way if you guys quit bashing the guy. He is cocky...but as you know we have that right. However, he isn't like a hannity or someone of that nature. Fill him in people. If we had mustaine's endorsement most of his listeners will vote for us(even though, including me, some of his listeners already are supporters)

Ron Paul has to grandstand the peace to get them to bite just like Nixon and Regan did when they ended wars. IE, Nixon's victory with dignity and Regan's SDI superiority plan.
Ron Paul likes to talk about how he is so much like Nixon and Regan by ending wars, but in reality he uses none of their rhetoric or successful techniques.
Could you imagine Nixon and Regan saying, "Let's follow a golden rule and be friends with Vietnam/Russia"?

Take a listen, it is Ron Paul all the way....Dave Mustaine states repeatedly, "If there's a new way, I'll be the first in line.". He needs to have a superior Foreign Policy and war (defense) plans from the point of view that America is still the greatest and this is how we keep it that way. Ron Paul instead is warning, "Just wait for a dollar crisis."
To the average GOPer that means bomb/attack China since they are 'manipulating their currency' and stole our 'jobs' and 'technology'.
There's nothing wrong with talking up military programs and might, especially if it's not going to be wasteful spending. RP wants to put troops on the border? WHERE IS THE PLAN?
Also why does he leave out the DRUG CARTELS when he talks about the border. He needs to talk that up as a war. I think he might be holding back because some of his supporters expect him to be this perfect dove or some nonsense.

How many of us here before supporting Ron Paul, supported someone else. I could've cared less about who was running before I found Dr. Paul. If we continue to let people like this walk right in front of us without saying "hey lets talk about ron paul" instead of calling them sheep, then we are going to lose this nomination. We have to convert people. Dave Mustaine is no sheep. He believes 9/11 was an inside job. Sheep don't believe that. He is independent however, everyone here should know how hard it is to find honest information about ron paul. There are a handful of sites that post the truth. I supported Ron Paul for 2 years before finding this site. SOMEBODY CONTACT HIM AND HAVE A CONVERSATION BEFORE YOU LABEL HIM AS A SHEEP. Listen to "we the people" and tell me he is a sheep. He just needs some information. Help a fellow christian. Help this guy find out the truth.
