I'm Outraged! : U.S. Marine Murdered By Police, Unarmed and In Front Of His Children

LA Times
February 14, 2012

A veteran Orange County sheriff’s deputy (claims/lied that) he feared for the safety of two young girls sitting in a parked car when he shot and killed a Marine sergeant in a dark parking lot near San Clemente High School, authorities said Friday.
Sgt. Manuel Loggins Jr. was shot early Tuesday as he started to get into the SUV where his two daughters — 9 and 14 — were sitting, authorities said. Jim Amormino, a spokesman for the department, said the deputy was fearful that Loggins — who he said (supposedly) appeared to be acting irrationally — was about to drive off with the girls.
“The real threat that was perceived was the safety of the children,” Amormino said.
“The deputy formed an opinion that he had a deep concern for the children, that he would not allow Mr. Loggins to drive away with the kids,” Amormino said.

I was outraged at first. But

I was outraged at first.

But it turns out his daughters were also scared shatless because Dad just rammed a gate in the parking lot, got out of the car, went off into a field and was screaming, and came back to the SUV pretty riled-up.

When the officer told him to stop he ignored the officer so the officer as the story goes thought he was protecting the girls from a possible suicide ride with Daddy.
.
The father was not in uniform so the officer had no knowledge of his status.

Sorry to take the juice out of your thread. But there is more to the story coming out.

I don't read infowars since I have my own brain...and if you ever want to betaken seriously, you won't read infowars either.

If you want to know why Ron Paul is not doing better than he is? It is because Alex Jones supports him.

Ron Paul Has Said That At Least Half His Support Originally Came

from Alex Jones Listeners...

Nice try pal...

Have a great day...

bye..

Really?

"If you want to know why Ron Paul is not doing better than he is? It is because Alex Jones supports him."

you can directly quantify that?

think not.

much more than likely, it's because we're a TV-nation, whom on the most part vote solely based on gut feelings and 'logical' impressions gained from the respective RINO candidates' ACTING PERFORMANCES at the debates.

Because if the electorate by and large actually 'got' economics, philosophy, history, let alone bothered to actually research their favored candidate's actual records, and actually understood how DC operates, they would NEVER in a million yrs be voting for anyone other than Dr. Paul.

ONLY people who tend to care or know enough to make the likes of Alex Jones a factor are insecure partisans, and those who are on the fence who lean Left who actually weigh the opinions of various bloggers, ThinkProgress, Media Matters, et al and are bothered by the newsletters, or rabid AIPAC whores who cannot fathom the idea of no foreign aid, or actual national sovereignty for Israel, as advocated by the Doc.

Alex Jones is someone you find, only if you're actually looking for him. All the other BS MSM & supposed "alt.media" are what most people who used to get info from MSM who sorta dabble on the net and cannot properly discern that nobody who actually knows give a damn in the aggregate what Politico, Red State, Weekly STD, The Atlantic, or RawStory has to say.

Frankly it's laughable to think "It is because Alex Jones supports him." By your logic, shouldn't someone like Don Black of Stormfront supporting the Doc be a bigger culprit?

If you DO want people to take you seriously (IF you actually care about that sort of thing), it will actually require you to examine what is put forth before a-priori denouncing it, simply because it may be contrary your preconceived notions.

not gonna go back and forth and waste time with you on which specific issues you have with him or the subjects discussed. and me scouring the web for links on various govt agencies and thinktanks' own whitepapers, or news sources. You can google, if you actually wanted to you can do that by yourself.

be that as it may, more apropos of our discussion here at DailyPaul, I'd ask you to please consider WHY Dr. Paul doesn't think Alex Jones is full of sh*t, because perhaps unbeknownst to you, like clockwork, for over a decade, Dr. Paul has been appearing on the Alex Jones show, for a monthly interview.

why do you think that is?

it's not like how he comes on Hannity, because he wants to actually communicate with his detractors because those are the dolts that need 'waking up the most.' the likes of Hannity, Beck, Savage, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, FakeNews, and MSDNC, he comes on, because the sheeple still get their 'news' from them. but he obviously goes on these shows reluctantly. he doesn't make it a habit of going on these shows monthly like clockwork, for over a decade.

let that simmer for a bit.

suppose by your logic, Dr. Paul doesn't want to be taken seriously by you, either, eh?

what you DON'T know, you can't know, no?

that's okay. no one expects anyone to 'get' it all in one shot. after all, for most people, telling them that Federal Reserve is not "Federal" nor a "Reserve," or the fact that they actually met secretly at a laughably appropriate and ominously named "Jekyll Island" to concoct it all, is a hard first step to fathom.

now I will make one assumption that you don't think Dr. Paul is a fool. So ask yourself, and answer for yourself, WHY it is that Dr. Paul has maintained a professional relationship with Alex Jones, for so long.

no need to answer outloud, but just ponder.

and remember, the next time you say similar things, ask yourself why it is that within the R3VOLution people will pounce on you, with much less courtesy than I when you make snide remarks about someone like Alex Jones.

"if you ever want to betaken seriously, you won't read infowars either."

- Just remember, no one who actually cares to be taken seriously tells others what source to read or believe, or not read or believe, unless you're Cass Sunstein.

Why do we allow police to have guns?

As I understand it, in England the police don't carry guns. They must have had a good reason to disarm their police, this may be one.

I agree with that question.

Statists want a culture in which the police are armed to the teeth, but private citizens cannot carry guns openly.

I think the situation should be reversed, actually.

It's things like this that just make me sick

There is literally nothing that could justify this killing (to me). I can't imagine how somebody could do what this "officer" did. It makes me think there must be some major flaw in the selection/training process for these officers. Disgusting.

Disgusting for sure, but it looks like there is more to the

story.

See the comments where someone posted the police blotter on the incident.

Not to say that can't be fudged, or that this still stinks to all unholy hell, but we don't have all the facts.

Seeing though as the murdering officer hasn't claimed his OWN life was in danger or that there was any hint of any weapon of any kind on the Marine, I'd say he should get the book thrown at him (and have to pay his "paid leave" back) since he simply could have either tasered the guy or shot a tire out so he couldn't drive away.

Notice also, the blotter indicates this incident went on for five minutes (or at least until he called for medics) and not one call for backup.

What does the

blotter say? I can't find it.

I can't think of anything to justify this result.

Good point about the missing call for any backup.

here ya go:

This is from the OCSD Blotter. It basically says that:

At 0441::26 OCSD Unit 476 pulled over a vehicle.
At 0441::52 - Thirty seconds later a MB (male black) "TOOK OFF ON FOOT THRU GATE"
At 0444::58 - Three minutes later Unit 476 says that the "want" (the reason for making contact) is for "HIT AND RUN AND CHILD ENDANGERMENT".
At 0446::55 - Unit 476 requests OCFD medics.

Five minutes is a LONG time for all this to go down (count it out: one-1000, two-1000, Three-1000, etc). Key: Did the SO kill the Marine before or after he made the "child endangerment" claim - i.e., did he even know there were kids in the car, from behind, at night? Or did he see people in the back seat, but didn't know who they were? This story is full of loose ends.
