Maine GOP reported: Romney - 6, Paul - 11, Santorum - 1, TOTAL - 18.
WatchTheVote reported total: Romney - 3, Paul - 13, Santorum - 1, Gingrich - 1, TOTAL: 18
A little strange that the votes were dispersed in favor of Romney and the totals still added up to the same number.. I believe this was a county were the votes were not read aloud. Keep in mind WatchTheVote only has totals for a handful of precincts out of the 1000+ that voted. Switching a few votes here and a few votes there, while deciding not to count a few seems like the strategy that was deployed by the Maine GOP.
Another thing I am noticing comparing the results is a few precincts were Santorum was shorted votes in favor of Romney. If anyone has a spreadsheet going with independently reported precinct totals let me know.

GOP China numbers are correct
The numbers for China, Maine posted by the GOP are the correct numbers. I do not know where watch the vote is getting their numbers, but, they should stop putting out false info. It is making the rest of us look bad. I am a Kennebec County Ron Paul coordinator, I know the real numbers.
Ron Paul doesn't care about this
He's already moved on. He knows he has the delegates and that's what he cares about. WE should be the ones to expose and demand the votes are counted right.
I'm almost tempted to suggest
I'm almost tempted to suggest that if RP and MR are close personally, then RP needs to call MR out on this, and ask if he is prepared to accept such a dubious victory.
Fallout? It might bring things back to a Romney-Paul slugfest, and get Santorum out of the picture. MR gets a moral victory in Maine, if not an actual one, and both raise themselves above the jerks also competing.

use every form of pressure possible to get the maine GOP to cave in, fess up and count the fricking vote... i'm personally not donating another $ to the RP campaign until they take charge and get some action going that will declare them the winner in Maine... ENOUGH!!! there's not point in us getting made and mailing and calling people.. the Campaign needs to take charge and claim what's theirs... otherwise there's no point of continuing this fight!!!

I might expect this kind of fast and loose vote counting in a third-world banana republic, but it is becoming apparent that fuzzy math also applies in some of our primary and caucus states as well.

They already are. I've seen quite a few articles talking about GOP officials 'concerned' over the complaints and problems that they plan to switch from Caucuses to Primaries, and from paper ballot to electronic.
One possible unintended side effect of this is we know there's a heavy connection to the Romney campaign and the fraud. If something even more solid than just 'the staff endorsed Romney'(and Charlie Webster is a bumbling fool, he's let it slip one too many times about how favored Romney is among them), it could backfire. I've said before, if even for a brief moment, "Romney involved with election fraud" hits the headlines, it could make people jump boat. Even if they spin it like crazy, there are those who would look at Romney a second time because of this issue.
It's possible. I'm not hoping for it, but at the very least, I hope the momentum he gained from this 'fake win' gets cut short before the next debate. It'll give Paul a platform to 'be relevant' to the average voter, and he may be given a different focus in the debates as a result.

We should get rid of policemen also, and replace them with friendly text systems for HELP... because too many bank-robbers are getting caught!
Folks, just tell them the system is doing it's job and catching the crooks... all it needs is better paper, indelible ink, and counting at the precinct level first of all! Then follow that number to the top for all to see and verify!
If you do not want to be caught, use electronics!
I realized this was happening by watching
Ben Swann's reality report.
He interviewed a guy who was a pricinct chair. The Maine GOP asked them not to read the results out loud, but to just send them in.
His first act as chair was to make a motion to read them aloud. He even tweeted the results.
When they reported the winner his was one of the precincts that didn't have anything reported so he called the Maine GOP. They told him they had the results, but the #'s didn't match - skewed toward Romney, weird. He told her that those weren't the correct results and she replied back these are the results we have. Then he told her that they had a public count and the 22 ppl in his district would disagree with those totals. He said she then changed her attitude a bit and said they've got it.
This is a HUGE mess now. I wonder how badly Dr Paul actually did beat romney. I'm thinking maine would have been a Ronslide!
