We are missing out Tweeter

I am new to tweeting so I am probably behind. But here is what I did today. Since Ron Paul is going to Idaho, I looked up any newspapers in Idaho and I found IdahoStatesman. So I went to tweeter and followed Idahostatesman. This is the only way a tweet can be seen by others that are following Idahostatesman.

You have to follow somebody and others have to follow somebody and all that follow are able to see the tweet that I sent.

"Ron Paul at Twin Falls Town Hall Meeting
February 16th 12 pm"

Am I wrong in my understanding of tweeter.

You are wrong in your understanding... the only way that IdahoStatesman can see your tweet is if HE follows YOU. You took the first step in following him but unless he follows you, he doesn't see your stuff. The only way Idaho's followers can see your tweet is if he RE-tweets (broadcasts) it to his followers.

If your looking for a way to spread information on Ron Paul and get followers you need to use hastags. So, if you said, "Ron Paul at Twin Falls Town Hall Meeting February 16th 12 pm" you then end your tweet with #RonPaul or #Idaho to get to people looking for info on Idaho.

If you put an "@" before IdahoStatesman they'll see it.

I am new to Twitter also, but I'd like to use it more to help RP.

Another technology is Pinterest.com --- check it out.

There is already a large Ron Paul movement on Twitter doing exactly that. Just start talking about him and using hashtags, as I showed in the above post, and you'll get RP followers.

Only problem is if that's as far as you go, you are just preaching to the crowd. You need to get OTHER followers for other reasons and then educate them about RP with your tweets.
